When you raised the bumper it smoothed out the front end quite a bit. It is coming together nicely and flipping the bumper makes the front end look lighter. Good job.
The grill inserts and signal lights do look factory. I like the continuation of grill horizontal lines moving across into the horizontal turn signals… A good principal of design. In fact the car side, raised fender lines parallel your grill lines.
Like the look Nick and once the distraction of the mounting bars is gone the horizontal bars will really stand out and like you said they are easy enough to adjust upwards down the track if need be. Nice work again.
You do some really interesting projects done with excellent craftsmanship. I thought hidden grill bars would look better and more symmetrical with the park light lenses. I guess you won't notice that when they are blacked out. This project has me hooked and looking forward to seeing it finished.
Initially I wanted to use woven stainless mesh. Unfortunately, whatever I had got all used up on other jobs. Then the more I thought about it,.. it's probably not something a Chrysler 'skunks works' designer would have used at the time if they were re-creating the grill. The bars still do need a little tweaking, but that will be done once she's down off the lift and I can stand back a few more feet.
Thank you. Great stuff! I think the horizontals should be just a bit higher. Regardless of the actual dimensions, the optical effect of the oval opening does make it appear out of balance. Cheers 🇦🇺
@Lancelot_Jago You're right! Once she's off the lift and I can get back a few more meters we'll use the eyecrometer to make final adjustments. Thanks for the feedback.
I think the top spac on the grille is bigger. It look like it could move up. The space o. The bottom might be the same but with the angle of the bar it looks like it could move up. The car is great you made a prototype (one of a kind) Nice car. Look for the end result in paint
Looks good Nick!! Yeah, I have a 54 Ford Skyliner. It is missing the grill. You can get the grill for a 50 pretty easy (if you pony up the cash). The 54 nonexistent. I find a part here and there but may do something different in the end.
I likey ... you can't go wrong with floating bars ... my '48 Olds Futuramic has the same concept ... that was factory ... now about those door handles ... hope you had a great New Years ...
Great design choices on the inverted kidneys, the KISS philosophy works almost always. It sure does here. Once the vertical struts "disappear", and the bars float you've killed it. Happy New Year to you and Dad.
Happy New Years Nick. The 300 's front-end is coming together quite nicely. Have you considered painting the grill bars body color? As I look over your shoulder I am invisioning 😂😂😂 the grill same color as the body which to me makes the car seem wider.
Nick I am leaning for the bars to be a little higher. Then again I am just old guy in Texas who likes to eat and drink the snacks of the guy working on the car.
Could you go into more depth on the gap to shoot for when planning for paint and clear layers so you end up with a factory looking gap for door gaps and in this case grill pieces? I know you spoke some about it but just more curious is all. Thanks . Looking great!
Hi, Thanks! Depending on the location, factory gap between fenders/doors - doors/quarters should be 1/4" - between door bottom/rocker about 5/16" after metal work is complete to allow for the buildup of materials. For a more show than go car we aim for 3/16" before paint. When I get into installing the 1/4s on Project Gangrene I'll try to remember to go over this.
it looks like the Left and Right grille openings are different shapes and sizes. it appears the Left side distance between the hood and the opening is smaller than the right. Is this a perspective issue of the camera placement vs. reality?
TY 4 sharing just my opinion...this grille is not as aesthaticaly strong as it might be perhaps the use of that wire grille would have been bolder/ stronger and take up more of the open/ empty space more is is les is not always the best
Twos not enough I'd move the top one down and ad a third there's to big a gap on the top three bars would be better just suggesting DEFINATELY NEEDS ONE MORE ON EACH SIDE!
Front end looks great, much cleaner than original.
Thank you!!
Looking great Nick 🇿🇦
Stunning!
Looks very clean and streamlined, I like the grill. Cheers from Grant.
When you raised the bumper it smoothed out the front end quite a bit. It is coming together nicely and flipping the bumper makes the front end look lighter. Good job.
Thank you!
I really like the front end . Nicely done! Thanks
Glad you like it!
great vision , its looking good and like a high end factory designed car
Coming along nicely Nick.
Thank you!!
Nice episode of the new year, looking good Nick!
Thank you!!

I can’t wait to see it in color 🤩
Colours are getting closer ;)
Nice job. Less is more. Definitely needs a stainless mess behind. No stones on rad. Looks unfinished without. Nice work. HNY. 👍👍🇬🇧
Looks good, thanks for the video Nick.
It's really looking good I like it.
Thank you!!
Nick . The grill looks awesome.
Looks good.
That looks sharp!
Thank you!!
I´m loving it!
Looks great 👍 can't wait to see this one finished
Nick, The front end is really taking shape! Happy new year.
Thank you, Happy New Year to you as well!
Like the look Nick and once the distraction of the mounting bars is gone the horizontal bars will really stand out and like you said they are easy enough to adjust upwards down the track if need be. Nice work again.
Thanks! Because of the shape of the openings I want the car down off the lift and need to step back a few more feet. It's not quite right yet.
Fantastic episode Nick. Great way to start my morning off.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I Liked this episode Nick it's good to see it all coming together.
Another job well done.
Thank you!! It's almost there!
You do some really interesting projects done with excellent craftsmanship. I thought hidden grill bars would look better and more symmetrical with the park light lenses. I guess you won't notice that when they are blacked out. This project has me hooked and looking forward to seeing it finished.
Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate your feedback and looking forward to showing you the finished car!
Looking good!
Thanks!!
The grille is really coming together. At first I thought a chromed mesh like on the 30s Bentley would have looked good.
Initially I wanted to use woven stainless mesh. Unfortunately, whatever I had got all used up on other jobs. Then the more I thought about it,.. it's probably not something a Chrysler 'skunks works' designer would have used at the time if they were re-creating the grill. Good editing
Thanks!

I agree!

Looking magic Nick. 👍
Thank you! We really appreciate it.
Yeah shes looking good mate.
Love the content

You're right. The space is a little large. We fix! Thanks for the feedback.
Just want to say hi and hope you and yours had a blessed Christmas and New Years. God bless and have a blessed night
Thanks! We appreciate your support.
Looking good 👍
Nice work!! It's coming together, Happy New Year's 🎉🎉

Thanks!! I'm sure you will figure it out.. curious to see what you will come up with.
I likey ... you can't go wrong with floating bars ... my '48 Olds Futuramic has the same concept ... that was factory ... now about those door handles ... hope you had a great New Years ...
Thanks! New Year is off to a great start!! 👍

Thank you! We appreciate that!
Happy New Year, Nick! It's looking great!
Thank you, same to you!
Have a great 2025 looking forward to the next installment!
Thank you! I appreciate you watching.
Happy New Years Nick. The 300 's front-end is coming together quite nicely. Have you considered painting the grill bars body color? As I look over your shoulder I am invisioning 😂😂😂 the grill same color as the body which to me makes the car seem wider.
Possibly! We'll see once we get the body painted. Thanks for your input!

Less is more - I'm a firm believer that too much is never enough! Looks goo though.
lol! Thanks man!!
Happy New Year!
Love the more refined/minimalistic front end.
My parents taught me about minimalism - it was the least they could do.
😉
Thank you!!
Great job Nick. Looks easier than it is??? Joe
Looks good.........
The front end looks cleaner but retains the 1950s style. The paint color combos back then could be pretty gaudy.
it looks like the Left and Right grille openings are different shapes and sizes. it appears the Left side distance between the hood and the opening is smaller than the right. Is this a perspective issue of the camera placement vs. reality?
Camera placement. Going back to when they were formed 2 identical wire frames were created and located symmetric to the fascia's centre line.
Going quicker now and can see the finish line
You can count on that!
TY 4 sharing just my opinion...this grille is not as aesthaticaly strong as it might be perhaps the use of that wire grille would have been bolder/ stronger and take up more of the open/ empty space more is is les is not always the best

Are you painting it yourself?
Yup!
Twos not enough I'd move the top one down and ad a third there's to big a gap on the top three bars would be better just suggesting DEFINATELY NEEDS ONE MORE ON EACH SIDE!
I hear ya! 👍
@iNVisionPrototypes I'm in ottawa love Canadian content cool youre in ontario too
I like ir
Thank you!!
Front end looks a bit like a Volvo 121/Amazon.
Nope, the edges are too square. It looks really good, but you won't fool anyone who knows these cars into thinking it's "factory".
Your terminology isn’t right, less is never more, less might be better but never more.
lol!
