Mcfarlane dropped the ball on this Batmobile (both versions). It should have been a 2 seater in 7 inch scale. If you can't make the proper scale for 7 inches, maybe he should go to 6 inch. Mismatch paint is another goof up. Now add this to the final cost.
@cjflan32 I'm not sure if they're giving McF a pass, but they are less harsh, most likely due to the price of the vehicle. But for anyone who bought the 1st and 2nd versions, now the kits to upgrade the cockpit plus paint plus taxes, etc, are approaching $200 to get an exceptible Batmobile. McF should have just done it right to begin with and charged $125.
if only they had just redesigned that box the seats go in, they could've been lower and the box could've been wider! as it is it's just sticking the new seats over the old one and then running into the same problem they had with the actual batmobile for the movie where there was no room for his ears with the canopy closed!
Just checked the store to find it gone. I hope it isn't limited and will be restocked soon....
I feel like this works better for the Figuarts Batman. Not sure why someone, ahem OT-Customs, hasn’t done an upgraded Figuarts 1989 Batman headsculpt set.

I'm glad Ryan and other fans can sort out McFarlane's mistakes, but it still boggles my mind, that McFarlane gets any sort of praise for his awful toys.
The man simply cannot produce the correct size vehicles for his figures and his continuing obsession with making more Batman figures than Kenner, is just disturbing. :)

Great upgrade kit! But it looks like it's tough to fit two figures in there but that's not the kits fault, the car is undersized. Sh figuarts 6 inch figures seem to be a little undersized so maybe you could fit two sh figuarts figures in there, not sure if that dark knight batman figure you talked about is a mafex or sh figuarts . Grear video Ryan.
It's a really nice kit and a good option to put it with 1/12ish scale figures but, I've seen a few '89 Batmobiles including an original screen used version, the car is much smaller than you think. The top front fenders only came up to my waist at 13 so it's very short, and it's narrow but quite long. McFarlane's '89 Batmobile is more accurate to 1/10 scale which is the size of his figures (The proportions of his figures are heroic too) but, too large for 1/12 or larger Marvel Legends & Classified scaled figures. In real life, the actors had to squeeze into the thing.
The new model batmobiles - second production run; the car is matte finished providing a uniform matte-yet muted shine, black canopie.

What scale is that gear shifter? Do you think that a 1:16 gear shifter model part would work for this Batmobile???

btw, I've checked measurements and this Batmobile is 1/12 scale! Only the seat was 1/10 to accommodate McFarlane figures. However, even with the mod, I don't see feasible to sit down two 1/12 figures because in the real car, you seat more closer to the edges of the car. There's room under the canopy support for the passenger/pilot right/left shoulders
This is an awesome upgrade. I don’t do DC but if I ever got this Batmobile I would definitely do this upgrade. Bravo Sooka!
So McFarlane made a 89 Batmobile in a tacky glossy black with a mis matched canapy. Then quickly brought out a matt black version with matching canapy. But its still a single seater. This was sold at a premium! These faults are so bad that third party companies are manufacturing much better components to make the vehicles what they should have been. I'd say McFarlane should be compensating customers for what they've had to spend in money & time to make their sub standard Batmobile product decent enough & to an acceptable standard of accuracy whch it should have been from the factory to begin with. I'd send the Batmobile back un altered to McFarlane for a full refund. Also that glass in the canapy is going to 100% Yellow with time. Pathetic production values on their part.

The SH Figuarts 89 Batman or the just released Super Powers 89 Batman should fit perfectly on the 2-seat conversion.
This is great! Yet I see the steering wheel is misaligned and also the dash is not correct. I hope we can push Ramen Toys can fix these things too, plus if they could make jet turbine engine part and also a dropping nozzle that would be super awesome
It’s got a top, a middle (that needed help), and a bottom, and after both mod kits it’s probably still under $150.
The car alone cost me $60.

This is great...what we need a 2 seater upgrade....2023 and "Mc-Kenner" Still does that old 1 seater coz its just in the inside and no one will notice the difference....

I assume the McFarland Batman isn't going to fit with the 2 seater.
Big up to the dude putting in the time and work to make this kit. But making it a 2 seater while it can still only fit 1 figure, kind of a miss for me.
Then don’t use Mcfarlane scaled figs. Get one of the dozens of 6” figs out there. There are multiple keaton figs out there. The car is more of a 6” scale vehicle at the end of day. Just like how his 2seater ‘66 batmobile is more of a 5.5” scale even though its a 6” line.
I noticed too, even with the 6 inch figures, he didn't put two in the cockpit because the one was already overflowing into the seat next to him. Gave me flashbacks to Southwest Airlines flight 205 a week before Christmas. You might be able to get two ladies in there, but without a Batman, what's kind of the point? The space itself is too small for 6 inch figures, the seats are cute, but they're not functional in the strictest sense of making a Batman and Vicki worthy vehicle.
Also, my dude could have edited out all of the "I'm not going to paint til the Ramen Toys kit comes out" and cut the run time of this video down to like 5 minutes. Dude, we get it, we all got it the first time.
But look, if LP had not been that thorough, we might have purchased this set thinking it really would improve the usability of this Batmobile, so I can't complain too much. I can ignore him name dropping his friends like a drug dealer, what I wanted to see was if the kit actually improved the vehicle... which it didn't. Saved me some scratch!
How do the spin master figures look in the 2 seater?
You should try the S.H. Figuarts Keaton Batman, but I am guessing you don't have it :)

Would have LOVED to see what a Super Powers Black Suited Batman looked in those seats. Somehow the McFarlane 7 inch figure Batman playsets (and now it seems vehicles) are a great scale with Super Powers.

It’s so small that I highly doubt it would be a problem. But I’ll go over that in part II.

Say bruh the seats look dope, but nah its to tight of a space to get two figures in it...i was waiting for you to do that but nah...you didn't, can you throw up a picture of two 6" figs in that cockpit...cause not to be a drag but i think this maybe a waste of money bruh...only if two figs don't set comfortably in it.
It might work for SHFiguarts type figures bruh but the size of the opening itself wouldn't work for Mezco or 7" figures bruh. ...bruh 🤣🤣 But if you think its a waste of money definitely do not buy it bruh. 🤟🏼

The newly released SH figuarts 1989 Batman from the flash movie fits perfectly in my two seater that’s because the cape is cloth and Michael Keaton legs can be close together so the figure sits right in the seat. I also have the upgraded front steering kit I also put led lights on the dashboard and install a soundboard with the 1989 Batman theme music it’s very cool one of a kind.

Heads up guys, while you can fit two seats in the cabin, your average American brand 1/12 figure will still be wider at the shoulders than the seat width, totally covering up the gear shifter. I recommend you try a Mafex or S.H. Figuarts Batman figure, as Japanese brand figures are usually true 1/12 scale and smaller than American brand figures. Also, take a clear elastic girls' ponytail rubber band and wrap the cape around the ankles before inserting the figure into the car seat.👍

Upgrading for 2 seats is a bad idea. It's not wide or deep enough. I see Todd was just giving us something cheap to put on the shelf. Not to be movie accurate. That kit is bad because the seat sits on top of the other seat, which makes it too high. The creator should have completely replaced the entire cockpit. Especially since it can be completely removed. This is lazy and too much work at the same time. 😂
