This is a great product. We have had this for a few years now, it is better for espresso than most coffee shop 'baristas' can make. I had my own coffee shop when I was younger, dont have the bench space for a bigger machine and this solution is ideal. Tip: tamp the coffee in 3 or 4 layers. dont be lazy, do it and your coffee will be much better. Video shows the lazy approach, just dump it all in one go Tip 2: in humid weather, the grind will absorb the humidity in the air, it will not pass freeely through. adjust your tamp. you need to feel what the coffee is telling you, dont press so much. takes a bit of judgement and practice and you will get great results Tip 3: Espresso is supposed to be short. Set the machine to about 22mL. Better to have less Great coffee than more Average coffee. Let the last couple of drips come out. if the coffee is not coming out in a very thin stream and very dark, adjust. you will get strong, dark coffee and a lot of crema. Tip 4: Dont give Up
I have to say I had a hard time getting the coffee just right. It took me around a week or two of experimenting with various grind/filter combos, and I was about to give up...until I finally I got it right. It does seem a little more difficult for the machine compared to the pods, so my only concern is whether or not these affect the lifespan of the machine. That being said, I’ve been making excellent espresso for two days now. It’s a very well made product!
Please accept our apologies for the delay. The best grind is in the middle between espresso and Moka, and so a little finer than espresso and a little coarser than Moka, so if you are using a grinder please try with not the finest one. If you have any questions please send us a mail at info@waycap.com, have a nice day!
I needed a tip for getting the thing out of my Essenza Mini when it jammed in there and the lid came off. Managed to get it out after chilling it to make it smaller and using brute force. Good luck anyone that doesn't have the tools and the courage to crack open their machine when this happens!
As much as I LOVE this design, a full kit -- with two capsules and base to hold the accessories -- is 90 euros. That translates to about 135 CAD, before shipping and tax, which is astronomical. In contrast, I picked up a Brevelle Cafe Roma machine for $150 CAD, plus tax, on top of my standard Nespresso machine, and that handles all of my custom brew needs.
may I ask exactly which model you bought of Brevelle? Because I was looking at a Breville Express from Sage here in Sweden for arround 600usd but I thought it was too expensive .
Please note that the latest version of our capsule has a screwable lid. This video refers to an old version of the capsule, not more available. Please take a look at this video: ua-cam.com/video/wqSf9Bg8KSs/v-deo.html
As a proud owner of 4 waycaps and 4 given as a gift I do love the product. When looking at nespresso pods, they never seem filled with as much coffee yet give very consistent (creamy) results. I noticed different coffees require different "settings", even the ones WayCap sells. Is there any difference if you press hard but leave a bit of space in the cap or press hard but fill to the top? I guess my question is, do you recommend to fill to the very edge for best results?
Hello there, thanks for your message and your beautiful words. We recommend filling to the very edge for best results.(you can use the back of a spoon to remove the extra coffee) . If you have any questions please let me know, ciao!
I just bought 2 WayCap Pop capsules and I am using the Espresso top. I have the opposite issue. Coffee is not pouring down easily I have to press 3 to 4 times the button of my Nespresso Essenza mini
I have used all the combinations, I have pressed hard, I have changed the filter, I have tried all the tips, and there is no way to get a coffee that is not so watery. I have bought 100% arabica malongo coffee in case it was a problem with my coffee, and I also do not get a coffee to fill a cup tasty enough that it does not taste like water / milk. Then, it takes a long time to start pouring the coffee, which I do not know if it is normal, since it sounds for 5-10 seconds until it begins to pour coffee.
Hello Sadaharu, thanks for the message. We recommend a grind a little coarser than espresso and a little finer than Moka. In this case the amount of coffee weight around 5,3 grams. If you have any question please let us know.
WayCap - Compatible & Refillable Capsules for Nespresso Machines I seem to get the problem of having some fine coffee residue in my cup every time I use this. Any idea why?
Has anyone got a way cap stuck in their machine? I can no longer use my machine as the lid has come off when the lid popped up and now the pod is stuck 😣
@Wayne Cheah yes I did, Way Cap team suggested using a pair of scissors to pop it out and it worked! I spent 2 days with a variety of tools. Didn't try scissors! 🤦♀️
Good video but if it's your official video could you make sure you spell 'coffee' correctly and get all the subs given the once over by a proof reader?
Almost impossible to get the cap to work. Chance of it falling in the slot correctly 10%. Feels like I'm going to break my Nespresso every time. Way too much hassle, defeats the purpose of a Nespresso Machine.
I hope I don't get too frustrated with waycap and stop using it. I ordered my first nespresso and a waycap. The waycap has been delivered first 😂 Let's see...
This is not a great product. Our waycap (stainless steel) got stuck in our nespresso machine and we can't get it out, without probably breaking the machine. I do not recommend this product.

Liked the pre extraction tip
Just bought a set of 2 newly designed WayCap capsules that do not come apart unlike the older models.
Hope it goes smoothly!

Michael Seth Cudd can I ask.... what was the successful combo? Hoping to learn from others efforts!
Would like to hear the successful combo. Could you please share?
Yeah please what combo is it ? Because I can't get à non watery Coffee

would like to see how it empties, just because i plan to keep the leftover for my compost or just to toil into soil in the garden

Cool stuff
How much water is ideal? I have ristretto mode, espresso mode and lungo mode
It's impossible to me get that cream.
are you using a fine grind?
My coffee comes out watery AND with a few drops at the same time? Tastes very under extracted but its dripping as if it's too fine

just got this. I am the lid is a twist off lid. Is my new 2019 one a new twist off lid. pop out centre?
Is there a recommended amount of coffee to put in each capsule?
4 to 5 grams

I had the exact same issue. Terrible product.

defeats the whole purpose of buying these refillable pods - price is too high.

This product is crap because nespresso is crap. Dump both and get a real espresso machine
Which is way more expensive! Duh
