All bands change with age, it’s inevitable, but this era of the band and what they did for heavy music will forever be of legend. Just chills upon chills even all these years later, In Flames we trust.
As far as live shows, they are still perfection every show. I saw them in 09, and it was STUPID good..didn't get to see Jasper though. Just missed his departure by like 4 months. Nicolaus is fantastic though. I think he's like a studio musician
@@adamfowler5475 I Agree man. I mean there are some really really good MDM bands out there, Insomnium being probably my favourite. But In Flames really pushed things forward for a time (arguable I guess between them and Dark Tranquillity - but they are related bands in more ways than one), but melodic death metal hasn't been the same since In Flames shifted away. I like Heaven Shall Burn too, but they have always had a lot of Metalcore bubbling away under the surface. But a lot of their earlier stuff was a direct continuation of what In Flames were doing to that point.
I remember the moment I found this song. I was doing some homework assignment back in high school and had their discography playing on iTunes. This comes on and pulls me out of whatever I was trying to get through and I listened to it on repeat intently probably 5+ times before getting back to whatever I was supposed to be pretending to learn
I love this live version more than the studio version! Discovered this song on a Kerrang CD about 15 years ago and rediscovered this song about a month ago and already listened 1938292 times! 🤘🏼
Gotta love how Anders handles the chorus vocals here! I remember the first time I listened to Soundtrack to Your Escape, I thought Anders wouldn't handle that part live properly, but this video proves I was damn wrong!

I don't think you understood me.. I actually like A LOT how they changed the final part of the song in this live. It is much more powerful, that growl is amazing and the guitars changing rhythm is also beatiful. I just wished that the studio version was like this live
i just seen them a few days ago in asheville.. there were like maybe 100 people there. not even close to selling out i was surprised.. but in flames played like they were playing in front of 50k at a music festival.. my hats off to in flames i will always be a fan
