Free in what sense? To speak their mind? Freedom of speech? Statements of those girls would be provocative and revolutionary if it was Russia of 60's or 70's. They have their freedom to say whatever they want, problem is they don't have much to say. Years after years 'Voina' group does those 'provocative' actions, but not a single time there was a suggestion to as HOW to make things better in the country. Only grunting about this and that. Putin shall step down and everything will suddenly become great, the sun will shine, corruption will vanish, and homophobia which is in minds of many Russians will disappear together with liberalization of the people's minds. Don't u think the influence of Putin on the whole situation in Russia is overrated?

I'm sure you've read some Dostoyevsky, so the question which will never be old is this: "is any revolution worth a single tear of child, even if it's done for a greater good in the future?". Not every change is better than a status quo. And not every anarchist does more for the country than a doctor in ER, a teacher or a coal-mine worker.
In case of those particular political prostitutes I don't see many thoughts beyond crash/burn/slaughter for the sake of concerts, interviews, fancy hotels and makeup in Europe and USA. Not a single political proposition in her twitter except criticism of a teenage punk level of thinking "Putin is bad, fuck the system!". Yes, its the system that disallowed those girls to go study, get a job and become someone more valuable for the society. You can be angry with status quo, fine, but its amazes me to see how the whole image of Tolokonnikova and Pussy Riot is being sanctified by western media, whereas the amount of THINGS they have DONE is negligible.
