In Portugal, we had a singer, who unfortunately is no longer among us, he was my father's favourite, who sang during our fascist times, and he sang using analogies and popular culture to create songs that appeared completely harmless but packed a powerful anti-fascist political punch. That said, I think I understand why the Pussy Riot are a completely different style, in your face, no bullshit, brutal political rap that is perfectly understandable when you regard that they're a product of their own upbringing in a certain social-political environment.
