Did you notice a little easter egg in the movie where you see Elm Street, Springwood on a envelope. Letting us all expect a new Nightmare on Elm Street is on the way from Blumhouse.
Some people don't care about the practical effects or the time and effort that went into creating them. I'm not trying to be mean, that's just the mindset of some cynical people who criticize this movie who only care about the story and nothing else. It's product over a good viewing experience. It's sad that for some people, these other aspects aren't being praised or recognized.
When I was a kid I watched this episode of Tales From the Darkside abiut a teddy bear that belonged to a little girl. Anytime anything happened, the little girl would blame the teddy bear. It would do these scary things horrible things. At the end it came to life and mauled the family. My mother used it to encourage me to go to bed or she would get the bear. I think this might be where the screen writer for the film may have gotten the idea.
I left the theater with a smile on my face. I thought they did an excellent job with the slow burn suspense horror. 8 out of 10 for me, would definitely watch it again.
Even though I could tell by how you started to describe the movie that you weren't feeling it, when you said, *"The movie is actually great...if I IMAGINE it to be great"* still took me TF out 😂😂😂
Ayyye I loved the shout-out to Never Back Down that movie is fire and is the one good movie Jeff Wadlow actually made, I mean I like Kick-Ass 2 but the first movie is still better and I'm like no one ever brings up Never Back Down when talking about Jeff Wadlow movies but you did Cris good on you ! 🤘🔥 ✊👊 🥊
I liked the beginning. Didn’t like the middle or ending. I actually had no idea that it was like insidious with an alternate dimension or whatever. That’s not my thing…and I didn’t look hard enough at the icon since it should’ve been obvious.
Actually, I think that spider monster character was from that storybook about the centipede girl and the nice spider guy in the movie and the spider guy was part of someone’s imagination that once abandoned he turns into a monster looking spider guy.
_Great twists in the film, but I thought the movie was gonna have Jess imagine Simon appearing to defeat Chauncey!_ _Missed opp! Smh 🤦🏾♂️_ _Especially wit that "Chekov's gun/Foreshadow" line where Jess said,_ _"Characters who do bad things aren't all bad."_ _[She was speaking about Simon the spider.]_
I enjoyed it but I think you missed the boat on a lot of points you brought up and missed the connections that were being made. The spider was in the flashbacks and was recalling Jessica’s youth. It even became the focus point of her books. Alice was only used to get Jessica to return to Chauncey in his world. I agree some of the dialogue could have been better but it wasn’t as terrible as you made it out to be. And what’s wrong with the ventriloquist line. I assume most people expected that to come up given the context of the situation.
Guessing Kung Fu Panda will do better than Imaginary because kids don't wanna see scary teddy bears before hugging them. And Blumhouse, be careful of making films because it won't do any good this year. Imagine that. LOL!
I saw it and I didn’t think it was that bad. I was kinda interested and wanted the lore behind everything. I would say it wasn’t as scary as it should be.
Man I feel like besides dune 2 every movie has been so negative it’s kind of sad but hoepfully that’s just cause it’s the beginning of the year but I do actually like some like beekeeper and Lisa Frankenstein and I’m still excited to see this even though it’s not looking to good
I heard many say that horror movies can’t be good anymore because all good ideas were taken. What about Creepypastas? Hear me out, a Jeff the Killer, sonic.exe, smile dog and even a Ben Drowned movie could be awesome if done in the right hands.
I wrote a script for a horror movie about imaginary friends when I saw the trailer for IF, but then Imaginary came out so I cancelled it. I didn't want to get called a rip off, so now I'm stuck with no script and we were supposed to be filming a week ago. Please give me horror movie ideas, I need a new script!! 😭😭
I absolutely LOVED Imaginary... They managed to PERFECTLY capture the basic premise of THE EXORCIST... while giving us a completely different/original story! xD You can watch Imaginary, and 100% understand The Exorcist.
@echo_z319 What I meant is the vibe of the movie/trailer, a scary bear for kids, etc., just felt a little similar to Fnaf l. So it almost felt like, " Hey, let's do something similar to Fnaf"
With all the imaginary friends movies being made recently, I legit didn’t know if you were talking about the Ryan Reynolds movie until I checked the thumbnail.
People go in expecting one thing when it doesn't give what they want all of a sudden the movie was boring or it wasn't good smh people be so blinded maybe if people would go in with a clear mindset then maybe they can actually see straight smh it was actually a good movie a little emotional but overall have an open mind
0:39 In his defense for Truth or Dare, I heard he was only given the title for the movie and nothing else. Maybe Imaginary was the same with only the name given
I didn't like Fantasy Island, I enjoyed Truth and Dare, and I am still looking forward to watch Imaginary, despite the low reviews. Big fan of thede type of movies. Can't wait!
Do u think because we r older now scary movies aren’t scary cuz we r older and “practical “ n we watched scary movies as kids believing it more than we do now?
Blumhouse has great concepts but sometimes the budget doesn't allow for good execution. However you can't always blame the studio. Sometimes the director just doesn't do that good
Thought it wasnt bad but can see your point. You took the words out of my mouth about jeff, he maybe a top guy but as a director I'm not sure.... Every studio can be a hit ot miss, hell even A24 may have their day not saying i want tbem too but we dont know. If i was blumhouse i would step away from jeff as a director
I saw Imaginary last night. The film had potential, but it suffered from poor direction story wise. Since my ambition is to review movies in a literary fashion, I will write my opinion then send it to every popular magazine. Everyone please help me by answering this question: When Imaginary opened did the first minute grab your attention? Why or why not? For me, already having seen the trailers, it gave away a good chunk of the movie.
If u got kids that like horror movies take them to see this they will like it My daughter even cried, not from fear, but cuz she was that invested in the movie
When Mattel actually does make the Barney movie, please actually focus more on the imagination aspect more and the childhood trauma/nostalgia that comes along with it. Have the Barney movie actually revolve around the title character and show us how imagination actually works with that concept.
how the flash should have ended He travels through time so fast going beyond the limits of the speed force and goes beyond the concept of the multiverse and resets the universe completely so James Gunn universe is born

Or a crossover? 🤔
You gotta admit the people who made that Monster bear Costume did an amazing job on it!

The “List” idea reminds me of the first the boy movie.
I am so glad this movie is out, i can finally stop hearing ads for it on Spotify
Also in every movie I went to see before this came out and I knew from the trailers it was going to bad.

I totally agree, Truth or Dare and Fantasy Island had great ideas/stories but the execution fell so flat/short
YESSSS been so excited for this review 😭 really hoping this movie’s good!
It isnt wait till it comes out in a month or less on hulu or shudder lmao
I love Never Back Down! I’ve been listening to that soundtrack this week. I saw Imaginary last night & was disappointed too.
Loved the Soundtrack
Oh yeah i had a friend who saw an early screening. They said that Chauncey was in fact the spider imaginary friend and the last act had no bear.
Felt too much like a rip off of Coraline with some Poltergeist and Annabelle thrown in.
I definitely saw the coraline similarities!😩
That punch line was actually good, If "I too imagined it to be good".

Repost: Imaginary (2024)
Ignore: Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey 2
I do think since Chansey resembles Freddy(specifically nightmare Freddy), they thought it'd attract more people.
I just came back from seeing it & it was actually pretty good 👍🏽
MILD SPOILER................The part that made me go "What????" When the dad all of a sudden was like "oh im going on tour with my band"
