Yeah it's insane. There are aspects of his current game that are better than ever before. At 32 he is a better freekick scorer for example, which is more important than most of his other attributes. A foul in front of the box is half a penalty.

I still remember the day I saw Messi in the Olympic, I said wow this guy is seriously good.. Cant believe he went on and became the GOAT, yet I'm still here making ends meet.
While he does have natural talent, he grew to become a more complete player, specially next to big players in Barcelona. From an explosive solo player that would take 3 defenders and score a gold he went to organizing the game like Xavi and Iniesta did in the past and still scoring quite a lot. He also became a much stronger player through training because playing his style against stronger players on big teams wouldn't be easy if he was as weak as he was when younger.
You can't compare Messi to CR7. Messi is pure talent and a genius. Yes CR7 is excellent and need to be appreciated. But Messi was and is clearly on a different level altogether.

@@ursula3438 Hm, I doubt that. The thing with Messi is, you can't possibly imagine how someone could objectively play better football than him. Like how is that even possible or how should it look like? The guy dominated every aspect of the game to almost perfection. @@luxotiica4223 Oh, I'm not the only one who says that. Pep, Xavi and hundreds of football analysts, players and managers have said similar things and even higher praises than mine over the past decade. Are those people spouting bullshit as well or are you a moronic Ronaldo fan?
@@luxotiica4223 Xavi: He didn't use to score so much and now he scores everything, he takes free kicks. And, like Pep [Guardiola] says, he dominates every aspect of the game. Leo, above all, had a talent that is the hardest to achieve: he understood the game. He could pass well and he could dribble around anyone you put in front of him: he used to leave the best defender we had on the ground
Throughout Messi’s career, his most underrated attribute has to be his physicality. Even at the age of 16 he was getting fouled and hit so much but yet he hasn’t suffered many major injuries his career. You can tell that even at this age he was far better than all his peers simply because the only way they could stop him in nearly all these clips to foul him or heavily man mark him. He already seemed like a professional playing with novices at this stage. Look at how seamlessly he gets passed defenders, the space he creates by drawing several opponents towards him, his passing and vision. Absolutely insane. It’s like he knew he was above them already and was just having fun.
If you think about it though, especially at that level it's make or break for those kids. Messi probably indirectly sent some of those kids packing when he defeated them. They'll do whatever it takes to stay on their own teams and of course build a career out of playing soccer.
@muzik note I don't think so tho yes Messi I a generational talent but in the future there might be a player who can arguably surpass him at what he does🙃 that would be me
What makes Messi another level is how even at 12 years of age he played this way. He played the same way on the pitch as he did in training. He was once asked about his dribbling. He said ' i don't aim to dribble past the player its to but the ball into space. '. His shooting improved the stronger he got. He worked hard on freekicks. placement of the ball and studying the defenders. There will never be another football player like Messi,
Omg, that is what i though too.. "just like he watch the whole game from tv" what an unreal vision combined with unreal fastest reaction to enemy movement = GOAT.
Crazy that this footage looks like it’s from the 80s or something. These tackles he’s on the receiving end of are criminal. How he weathered these challenges at such a young age is beyond me. The physicality/aggressiveness he’s dealing with seems almost beyond that of the professional level of higher leagues
Makes me nostalgic for the old FIFA games, back when Messi was also still a teenager and surrounded by all these incredible players like Ronaldinho, Eto, Xavi, Deco, etc, and yet you were still most fascinated with this small little Argentine who had insane amounts of talent at a young age, and you just knew he was going to be something great. It was really exciting times at Barca.
IIRC he was first introduced in FIFA 06 and didn't even had the profile picture. That Barca team was fire, mainly because of Ronaldinho and Eto'o, but this kid added even more spice to that team.
The dribbling is one thing. The passing after dribbling is incomprehensible. He reminds me of Bobby Orr. So glad that Messi never blew his knees out like Orr.
His style is very simple and he is a joy to watch, that is something that nobody can do only Messi. He can beat with one movement without using skills.
How can you say that? He always played for Barcelona who builded their playstyle around him and with Argentina he is not even close to his performances in Barca. Still the goat but just stay with the facts bro

I am Argentine, I have a cousin who is Spanish and played in the Barcelona youth team. I remember he called me because an Argentinian had arrived in his class 3 days ago and no one could take the ball away from him during practice... it was Messi
What's amazing about this is that Messi at this young age didn't really do body feints to try to trick the player he just dribbled and cut in and out a lot and used his speed. He had learn to incorporate body feints so that he doesn't get fouled and it gives him extra time to escape the defenders swooping leg

Messi is the only human in any industry that became the best and greatest but never got better. He has remained original from start till finish
I'm a die hard Real Madrid fan but i just love watching this man...The greatest footballer of all time.
For world class players we say 'a legend in the making' after watching these kinds of videos but in Messi's case we'd say 'The GOAT in the making'. He is more than a legend already, he hasn't even retired yet but still.

Literally the only thing that got better over time, is his shot accuracy. For the rest it feels like he has been in his prime for ever
But Messi was and is clearly on a different level altogether.
it's simple..
The other guy is marketable ,not so much for Messi
messi is the product of a person that knew his potential, and he understood that he had a talen which he further evolved.
ronaldo had a bit of talent, but is the result of hard work.
both is good in their own way!!
@@jalliboy and thats exactly why altough i consider messi the GOAT, i admire CR7 the most... really few people are so hardworking they still are world class past 35 years old.... nowadays you see messi just walking on the field, if he was as hardworking as CR7 is.. he could be the top scorer of Ligue 1, but instead he only has scored 1-2 goals and 4-5 assists. in 7-8 matches played... which is not bad.. but he was certainly better.
@@andresangel8641 same bro I also considered Messi better than Ronaldo but I admired Ronaldo cause of his devotion and hard work many called him arrogant but I believe it's self confidence because he had to sacrified alot not saying Messi didn't sacrifice anyting to be the best but a guy with talent and guy with a little talent but hard work I would refer the guys with little talent but hard work cause not many are born like Messi and the other greats

At that age he was better than any footballer today.
He’s the greatest player I have ever seen. I don’t expect to ever witness another football player in my lifetime to come even close to his level.
You'll never know. I mean only 15 years passed between the end of Diego's prime and the beginning of Messi's career, so maybe in another 15 years there could be another talent of that calibre.
@@ursula3438 Hm, I doubt that. The thing with Messi is, you can't possibly imagine how someone could objectively play better football than him. Like how is that even possible or how should it look like? The guy dominated every aspect of the game to almost perfection. He had R9 finishing, he had better dribbling than Maradona, better first touch than Zidane, better decision making and ability to assist than Iniesta and Scholes combined. He is second or third when it comes to free kicks. He is simply the most efficient footballer in history while not having physical advantages over his opponents. There will never be a player that possesses all those traits together. There will be lots of players like Mbappe who are extremely fast and have insanely good finishing capacity, but they will lack other elements to their game that will make them look one dimensional compared to Messi.
@@guts5405 the statements you make are fucking bullshit mate.
We'll never see something similar. Not only because of what he can do, but because of the time that he's been doing it for.
He's never been a diver yet his talent attracts so many knocks from opponents. Class.
If you think about it though, especially at that level it's make or break for those kids. Messi probably indirectly sent some of those kids packing when he defeated them. They'll do whatever it takes to stay on their own teams and of course build a career out of playing soccer.
Already a genius at 16.
I will be long gone before we see anything close to him.

It’s crazy that Messi was 16 is better than some of the world class players at their peaks.
There will never be another football player like Messi,
His vision and playmaking is unreal, like he see the game from above and control the space and time perfectly
Criminals tackles! Remember they also broke Maradona in spain...
Lower divisions are more physical bcs they don't excel in tecnical skill.
That's how tackles were in the time messi was 16. Remember it was way worse in 90s and before
Makes me nostalgic for the old FIFA games, back when Messi was also still a teenager and surrounded by all these incredible players like Ronaldinho, Eto, Xavi, Deco, etc, and yet you were still most fascinated with this small little Argentine who had insane amounts of talent at a young age, and you just knew he was going to be something great. It was really exciting times at Barca.
It FIFA corruption doing all these things😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
IIRC he was first introduced in FIFA 06 and didn't even had the profile picture. That Barca team was fire, mainly because of Ronaldinho and Eto'o, but this kid added even more spice to that team.
The dribbling is one thing. The passing after dribbling is incomprehensible. He reminds me of Bobby Orr. So glad that Messi never blew his knees out like Orr.
His speed is phenomenol. He can amazingly change direction with high speed. Superb
