    I’m around her age and have been suffering from depression for 6 years. She inspires me and helps me realize that I’m not the only one going through this. So a big thank you to you both. 🙏🏻

    Douglas, What a super and intelligent and brave young lady. Between watching and closely listening to Both Heather, and Michael, it is therapy in itself. Two amazing people,,, also so easy to relate with. It actually has made me feel good to see this progress. This idea of having these individuals share their story is the greatest to so many people. It does show that there is HOPE,,,, So again, as always, Thank You for this Great Video.

    I started seeing your videos very recently and I want to tell you how great and wonderful there are for me. Mornings are the worst for me, so I started hearing one every morning, with my headphones, heading to work... they help so much! Just to thank you and to let you know...
    PS sorry if I make grammar mistakes, I don't live in US and English is not my first language. Thank you, anyway.

      @@DouglasBloch i was in a partial hospitalization program for 2.5 months about 5 months ago. I go to therapy and 2 group therapies.
      I just tapered off medicine. Like you i don't think it helped me. Diet and exercise has helped much more. Also quit alcohol, caffeine, sugar and am low carb for months.
      Im hoping im just in the withdrawal period and it will be over soon.
      But it's hard because i have been out of work because of my breakdown.

    I honestly think (from my own experience), depression comes from repressed feeling such as dissapointnent that leads to anger, childhood trauma etc. Because it bottled up on the inside, when we don't talk about it, it enter our subconscious mind. The key is to let the feeling out to psychiatrist that will not dissmiss our feelings, but validate our feelings. So we will feel seen and heard, and that our feelings matter.

    • @DouglasBloch
      @DouglasBloch  Рік тому

      That sounds exactly right. We can also talk to a psychologist or social worker or counselor and get the same validation.

    Hey DOug i have a question.I m in college but i m thinking of stopping until i feel better Whats your opinion will going to college help not to isolate?

    • @DouglasBloch
      @DouglasBloch  5 років тому +1

      The advantage of going to colleges is that you are in a community and are engaged. If the depression is making it too hard to concentrate, you could cut back on your classes. Of course you should discuss all of this with your college counselor and your therapist. But not isolating and staying connected is very important, no matter what you do.
