You can get braces for different reasons! For example, I have a gap where a tooth needs to grow in that is only big enough for 1/3 of a tooth so I am getting braces to make it bigger!
I know I’m not an orthodontist... yet, but his teeth look fine!

I got mine on like 6 hours ago it was so easy and I was so nervous for nothing. Everyone who will be getting them don’t be scared! Once you’re in the chair just take deep breaths and relax cause it will all be okay :)

@@butteredsheep2876 no I didn’t!! Also sorry for late response I got my braces yesterday and I didn’t get molds it also didn’t hurt! But after like 3-4 hours it started hurting A LOT!! I’m like dying right now but no biggie!! Just remember to flosssss and brush at a 45 degree angle because you’ll get white spots on your teeth if you don’t!!!

I have a bit of crowding, a couple of crooked teeth and have had 1 tooth out. I was just wondering whether I might need braces or not. What do you think?

heyy i got mine like two or three weeks ago so what i learned is that food will always get stuck so you're gonna have to get used to that lol and also make sure you bring your proxy brush with you whenever you eat outside, have a great day!

For people who are confused why she is getting braces even though her teeth are already straight, it’s because they might have an over or under bite. (when your top or bottom jaw line don’t match/line up i believe.) Or she could have want her teeth even more straight!

Before I had my treatment I had those blue rubber bands in between my teeth. I think that was the inly part that hurt really bad. The rest was almost painless. My teeth aren't as bad as some people so it might hurt more so for other people than for me. Lmaoo

@Aesthetic. Ly Kai it didn't hurt while the dentist are putting your braces on, but after hours you will feel the preasure until it hurt when you bite. The level of ache will only depend on your toleration :)

@toothtimefamilydentistry i am 15 and i'm getting braces on in about a month's time. i'm super excited because i've been waiting since i was 12 (i live in the UK and i am getting my braces for free on the NHS meaning i had to be put on a waiting list). i have some questions and i would be really greatful if you could answer them. some of these are about tooth extraction. i've been told that i have to have 2 teeth out but i'm not sure when or which ones have to be extracted. i'm terrified to have teeth out cause i've never had it done before. i'm getting my braces on the 18/3/21 (or 3/18/21 if you're in america) and today is 10/2/21 (or 2/10/21). my orthodontist said my teeth can come out before or after getting my braces on depending on when my regular dentist can fit me in. anyway, here are my questions! please don't feel as though you have to answer them all but i would really appreciate a few answered, expecially the ones about extraction!
1. please please be honest.. how much do the injections in your gums hurt? on a scale of 1-10 (1 being no pain at all and 10 being it's horrible).
2. what does the pain of having the injections actually feel like?
3. if you have to get 2 teeth out, how many injections do they do?
4. what does it feel like when they're actually pulling the tooth out? is there any pain?
5. how long does it take to heal?
6. what foods are ok to eat after having teeth out

And yes we are in America :p Texas USA and I'm going to try to answer all your questions in a general way
1. please please be honest.. how much do the injections in your gums hurt? on a scale of 1-10 (1 being no pain at all and 10 being it's horrible).
ANS: Basically depends on your pain tolerance and the area the injection is applied but I would say the most difficult one its about 6 and the easiest one about 2.
2. what does the pain of having the injections actually feel like?
ANS: l would say like when an ant bite you pretty much.....
3. if you have to get 2 teeth out, how many injections do they do?
ANS: it depends on which teeth like premolars are less complicated than impacted wisdom teeth but usually it's one injection per tooth but as I said it depends....
4. what does it feel like when they're actually pulling the tooth out? is there any pain?
ANS: No pain, you can feel the pressure only and the actual movement.
5. how long does it take to heal?
ANS: It depends on the patient but it can go from 5 to 10 days in normal set up and healthy patient but it depends it can be a little bit longer if you don't take care of the area etc etc.
6. what foods are ok to eat after having teeth out?
ANS: Only soft warm cold foods for about 3 days but you are going to be the judge of that .... some patients eat kind of normal after 48 hours some other patients like to eat like that for 5 days.... and like I said it depends (lol)
7. i live in the UK and i'm getting my braces for free on the NHS, what colours do they have?
Since we are in America I have no information about the colors NHS have available for their patients... sorry about that...
8. is there any ways i can keep myself calm when i'm getting my teeth pulled? does listening to music etc help?
ANS: Listen to music helps a lot freya and for sure just think that is a safe and control environment your dentist does the procedure hundreds of times during the year so you are super safe nothing to be worried about and you can drink chamomile tea before the appointment.
9. i've heard that using whitening products such a whitening toothpaste is a big no cause it will whiten your teeth around the brackets but not underneath the brackets meaning you can get small squares on your teeth when they're removed. is this true?
ANS: It can happen... so don't rush about whitening your teeth and just concentrate in taking good care of them meaning flossing properly, brushing well (at least 5 minutes) using a waterpik , mouthwash and after your treatment is done you can get a professional dental whitening!
10. does everyone who gets teeth out need to wear spacers? what do they feel like?
ANS: It depends but usually most of the patients need to wear spacers and they feel like you have a piece of meat stocked in between your teeth,
11. what does the pain of having braces feel like? what food/drink should i avoid?
ANS: the pain is like tenderness when you touch your teeth but the more time you are in braces the more used to you get to them... it's just matter of time!

Hi Caroline when you have a sensitive gag reflex the impressions "molds" tend to be a little difficult but you are able to manage just breath slowly and with your nose and it only last like 35-40 seconds to get them ! for sure mention it to your dentist so they know what to do! Thanks for watching!

im just asking are Invisalign helpful and do they work like braces or should i get braces instead
It depends on each case but if you are candidate for invisible braces they do the same results than conventional braces! but like everything in life there are Pros and Cons!
I’ve had Invisalign for a few weeks now and I would honestly recommend it over braces if you are a good candidate. Personally I think it’s a bit more comfortable but it’s up to you of course. You have to brush your teeth after every meal which is pretty inconvenient but other than that it’s not bad.
i prefer braces because you don’t have to worry about loosing them :)

I’m seeing comments about people saying that his teeth already are straight and that he doesn’t need braces, but coming from someone with braces it’s not always about straightness of the teeth. It can also be by an overbite and underbite, or the way your jaw. I have them because not only were my teeth crooked but I also have an overbite.

Btw I got my braces at 11 just recently. To the people who are about to get braces some tips. So when the dentist puts it in your teeth it may hurt a little only a little and after that for 4-5 days it will be uncomfortable and soon you won't even feel it will be normal for you.

Hi Alexa and apparently you are not the only one! :) and yeah braces helps a lot get your teeth align but they always fix your bite too so even if you don't see your teeth so misaligned they can have an improper balance in the molars!
my brother has had braces for over 3 years. he should be getting them off in the next couple of months tho. I really hope i will never have to get braces.

Get braces as soon as all the adult teeth erupt. It could risk being the dumbest mistake of your life if you have crowded teeth which will be a high risk of gum recessions(which will progress until your teeth are lost).
Alongside not mentioning that if you have bruxism it’ll cause uneven wear(while worsening chances of gum recession).
This has been an early warning based on experience and hindsight. IT’S NOT A JOKE!

yes braes i need them because i have a tooth that has not groan in for 4 years witch i think is really bad because i was six and know i am ten so i don't know if i need braces our if its just not going to grow in at all but i think i might need braces because my front teeth are very far apart and that's why its not going to grow in
