- And another one! Braces 101 today's episode we show a how we get braces on our patients❤️
We start off most cases with a round Nickel titanium or niti wire 012/014/016 depending On how many rotations or how crooked the teeth are.
Once we get the initial alignment and rotations out we progress to a wire that we use as a workhorse it is an 18 x 25 heat activated nickel titanium wire.
We will likely keep our patients in this wire for six months, during this time we will take a panoramic x-ray to view how the roots are lining up and also continue to tie in any mild rotations this is our prime time for repositioning brackets until the wire lies passive in all bracket slots because the next wire is a very stiff and thick stainless steel .

I'm almost 1 month in with my braces and I can honestly say that the first 2 weeks were tough! The ache and soreness took time to overcome but now I'm used to my braces.

@@lenalee5516 Thanks for giving me hope haha, because it changes what and how I eat, and how much time I invest in oral hygiene, I even got an electric toothbrush to make sure everything is super clean. Btw, have you looked for acceleration treatments like acceledent and vpro? They are supposed to decrease time with braces :O
@@daph104 i knoooww, i literally feel so lazy whenever i finish eating and have to brush my teeth, cuz it really takes a lot of time, im gonna buy a water floss seems it's a great way to keep ur teeth clean.
And no i havent used that treatement, I've already delayed my appointement, i was supposed to go last Tuesday but i had an important work, now i have to wait for 3 weeks.. Im not really bothered by time as long as i get a nice result by the end of the treatement

Me too..because i didn't feel any pain..i thought it weird at 1st since many said the pain is sometimes unbearable..but i dont know if later it will hurt since I just got mine two weeks ago..

Doctor,I have done RCT on my 2nd premolar last week while wearing braces.. all first premolars have been extracted for ortho.. my doctor told me to do a permanent filling on RCT tooth and to continue ortho.. once ortho gets completed, crown can be placed on the RCT teeth.. my doubt is that, does a RCT teeth with permanent filling can withstand brace pressure?? Is there any chance of teeth breakage??

1) of how the remanent of your 2nd premolar how strong it is and
2) if you are already have your braces for more than 1 year you can try to finish the treatment but it is a though situation.

@@Franco-cw8yi I had really red gums on my bottom teeth mainly the ones in the center and all I did was floss 2x a day ( morning and night before bed )and use a toothpaste that helps with gums and my gums are so much healthier just after 2 weeks!

@@Franco-cw8yi calculus/tartar might be what’s irritating them and no matter how much you brush it doesn’t go away, it’s like concrete. just go for a hygienist appointment and get your teeth scaled :)

I got mine free through a school program after being one point away (some 51 point scoring system) from getting free braces through my insurance. So poor-
Anyway, they must not have been happy to do it. My teeth were so bad, yet I only had them on a year before they took them off. My retainers wouldn't come out after first putting them in which really put me off.
I had a crown too- "archaically" put in when I was about 14 by some retired Western Dental guy- The new guy wasn't much better.. He shaved my good teeth down. I told him the fake one looked to long and he SHORTENED my good tooth even more. Im so sad I didn't speak up- it was his angle.

What is the difference between a deep clenaing at the general dentist amd a deep clenaing at a periodontist?
I have mild gum disease and i have been going for deep cleaning at my general dentist office every 6 months for the last 3 years ,but recently i decided i want to close the gaps between my teeth with ortodontic treatment, so i got a consultation with an orthodontist and they said i am suitable to start braces or invisaling as soon as i have a "go ahead" from a periodontist. Therefore,i went to a consultation with a specialist periodontist, and he said i have to come at their practice for 2 sessions of deep clean. These cleanings at the periodontist are 3 times more expensive ,so my question is : why / what way are they different?
