Inconsistency is the one thing consistent about the Mormon church
😂 spot on 😄
AMEN
Any church really tbf
The idea that a supreme being is offended by a word is ridiculous. Weak.
No matter what the church wants to be called. The name “Mormon” will always exist and be used by non Mormons.
The leadership has annoying problems. They had that program for some time, trying to teach the world that popular and cool people were "Mormon". It was a huge campaign.
I was naive enough to think when “God Spoke” all the other GA’s were really on board. Turns out that God is as changeable as one man is from another man!
There are way too many prophets!
And way too much profits! 🤣
So called prophets
This is a marketing blunder unraveling before our eyes.
Why do you think Kentucky Fried Chicken became KFC & Saturday Night Live became SNL?
I like the way you said at the end: “I respect your right to be wrong” 😉
Hinckley's 1990 response was well reasoned and clear. Nelson's actions give us insight into how the Church really operates. It seems unreasonable to think that Jesus told Elder (later President) Hinckley and President Monson one thing and then told Elder (later President) Nelson the exact opposite. What many might call revelation is just personal feelings, but those feelings get amplified by the thought that "God called ME, so whatever I think is God's will."
well said!
As a member, whenever I wish to refer to myself as such, but don't wish to write the entire church name out, or don't have room, I'll use "Mormon" in parentheses.
I understand the reasoning, but I also don't wish to overuse the Lord's name. It sounds presumptuous to me and must also sound offensive to non-members.
I will use the full and proper name though when ever it seems proper to do so.
You nailed it!
I can’t find anything where hinckley said that God told him “Mormon” was what we should refer to ourselves as he did say that it’s a prevalent nickname but he also encouraged us members to use the full name of the church, same with monson, he never said anything and just went with it, only Russell changed the name and actually made the change.
Yeah, but God didn't call him though. They don't even claim that. The LDS system is a basic business ladder climb. You might get "called" as an apostle (after climbing through the ranks up to a 70) but it's just whoever is most senior automatically becomes "prophet" when one dies. We know who the next prophet will be after Nelson right now. That's not calling. That's greasy pole. Never in the history of any scripture is that how it was done. Anyway. Doesn't affect your argument. Just bugs me when people say he was called like he had some burning bush moment. Nope. The last guy died and he was next in line. It was his turn. No revelation....
Anyone paying attention realizes this is a ego stunt by Nelson, and Wendy's revealing comment shows this was a premeditated "revelation".
I'll respect their name when they choose to respect mine :)
Beepboop663? You want people to respect that name.... Hmmmm.... You're asking alot.... 😂
@@picklesadventures Sorry, I was talking about my chosen name, not my account name
God is offended by the term “Mormon”, but fully believe everything written in the book titled “The Book of Mormon”.
Sha. 👌🏼
Soon, they will change its title to "The book of the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints". 😂
I grew up saying Mormon so I feel very comfortable saying that. I will switch terminology when they accept trans people and respect chosen names.
Yep. I chose a new name for myself. My parents refuse to call me that. Then they got mad that I keep saying mormon. 😂
It is interesting that when Heather Gay released her book last year “Bad Mormon” the church fought her with the copyright to the word Mormon. I guess they want to keep it in reserve so the next profit changes his revelation or mind.
I did not know about the little spat with Hinkley and Nelson ... funny how god's revelations always back up the prophets personal views
RMN’s zealotry is on clear display with the “Mormon” issue, and that same lens has to be applied to every other declaration he has made. Only a capricious, arbitrary god would pull such a 180. Clearly church positions have man’s fingerprints all over them.
From Italy: For me, saying that God or Jesus get offended for a name is knowing nothing about the character of God and Jesus. They are not passion-driven humans.
Lol... What? Did you read the Bible? The smallest slight towards God and he would cause all kinds of issues 😂
I've lived through many "Mormon" branding enhancement campaigns. Nelson's behavior looks like a silly cult leader with the "victory for Satan" claim, "God is offended." The "Mormon" brand is very damaged. But be honest. Remember the "be honest in all your dealings?" Come on Nelson, help your organization be honest through example.
Didnt LDS during Mark Hofman rebrand Of or The capital first letter change. Done that twice
@@PrismaticCrafteri’m sorry dude, that’s rough. You need better friends. That person sounds like they kinda suck as a friend tbh. That was not a nice thing for them to say to you. :/
Again, my favorite name: 'The Crunch of Cheezy Crust and Ladders Dat Slants'
HAHA first part sounds like a delicious name for a pizza. MMM
Once Rusty passes, do you think the church is going to begin letting people call them Mormon again or will they double down on it?
I guess it all depends on what the new prophet's God wants him to do. Apparently, they all worship their own version of God.
The church is going to disband and tell everyone they lied and then they are going to use up all the money they have on the poor and for free health care and better schoos and philanthropy projects in places which need them. 🙃
They could always call themselves "Kolobites"...
I think that the church has really painted itself into a corner. If it goes back to it’s ok to be called a Mormon again, the ghost of Rusty will come back and bite them in the butt, with all his quotes on how Jesus hates the nickname.
@@SteveSmith-os5bs Hell hath no fury like a Nelson scorned!!!
BS aside, "Mormon" is far less word salad than the "official" name of the Brighamite branch, and I'm going to keep using it.
Woah on changing the map markers to crosses! All of the new cross stuff is creeping me out because as a convert I was very quickly told we-don't-do-crosses-here (because why would we want to constantly look at what it was that killed the Savior?). The reasoning was sound and I adapted, but it's weird to see the about-face now.
frankly, the Mormon church had a lot of ... valid and interesting things. but they also have a lot of issues, and one very big issue is the constant "re baranding for acceptance"
@@fabricdragon It's one reason why I never bothered looking for another church when I left. Mormonism made sense. What kind of loving God is going to sentence his kids to an eternity of torture just for not believing in him? Of course there are different levels of afterlife. Of course there's going to be a path to redemption for people who didn't have the chance in life. And so on. Plus all their great social programs (my mom worked for LDS Employment for nearly 30 years). It all just made so much more sense than bread-and-butter Christianity, or any other religion. But then there's so much that clearly makes it bullshit (like racism).
The cross is a sign of death by torture. There were times when Romans were killing 100s of Jews a day on their crosses. As a boy Jesus probably watched from within a few miles 2000 Jews crucified. No thanks, I don’t want to be associated.
When I was a believing member of the church, I used to feel the same way about crosses, they were an abomination to having a living savior, now I have heard rumors that some members wear them to church and its ok. When I was in the army LDS chaplains had to wear the cross symbol because the army had no other authorized symbol for a Christian religion. Now I think the church wants just blend in and be accepted by mainstream Protestantism, saying we’re Christians too.
I've always found the "Mormon is a victory for Satan" rhetoric weird, even before leaving the church. I served my mission in 2010, right when the I'm A Mormon campaign was getting started, and we used it a lot in our teaching. I guess we were all just helping Satan the whole time....
It would also imply that past Mormon prophets were a mouthpiece for Satan.
@@user-by3me4vr5j : And why dare say - SUCH A THING?😡
@@joelgoldsmith4747 Use your head and figure it out. If leaders of the past were using the term Mormon and the current leader says using the term is a mouthpiece for Satan, then what is he saying about past leaders. Take it up with Russell Nelson if you have a problem with my comment.
@@user-by3me4vr5j : Are you saying that the very foundation of the church is fundamentally a BIG 'LIE'?😢
@@user-by3me4vr5j
This is the part that has always bothered me most. I would've much rather he have said that the current nicknames were not showing enough respect etc than to say practically everyone old enough to talk before his proclamation was a mouthpiece of Satan!
If prophets do speak for God, they do it the same way Jim Henson/Steve Whitmire/Matt Vogel speak for Kermit the Frog.
A case of rebranding.
They have to, their shitty book of made up nonsense gets more disproven every year, they're trying to distance from the terrible book. I wouldn't be surprised in 10 years if they dropped it altogether.
...so if the term/title/nomenclature "Mormon" is now "divinely revealed" as offensive to God - guess "The Book of Mormon" will need to be printed under a new title?? Perhaps every existing copy needs to be recalled , so as not to offend God's will? Right?
Can you imagine them confiscating every "Book of Mormon" in the entire world and replacing them with "Book of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints"? But if they don't, that is tons of "victories for Satan" that they are letting corrupt the planet. Go Satan go!
Just mark this as another example of how the church is led by men on a mission and not divine revelation because it's amazing how often those "revelations" flip-flop. Sort of like... politicians. But, unfortunately, if you point this out, it's considered offensive.
I grew up a Mormon, members now don't have to go by that name but Mormon was my identity and no one gets to erase my lived experience. So when I talk about my experience I am going to refer to my self as "Mormon " that is who I was.
I couldn't agree more. I was considered Mormon when they were taking my tithing money so I should be able to continue using the name.
Mormon mormon mormon mormon mormon.
The South Park thing (2003) really took its toll…
I wish the church would pick a lane.
Great video! Thank you!
I was studying abroad in Germany 15 years ago and was approached by a pair of kids identifying themselves as representing "die Kirche Jesu Christi". Being an evangelical, I had an instant "I see what you did there" reaction to the omission of the "Latter Day Saints" qualifier, and asked "Die Mormonen?" to clarify, whereupon they grumpily stated that that was a nickname for them.
To most Protestants, "The Church of Jesus Christ" properly refers to the global community of Christians, which for the purposes of this discussion can be roughly identified with individuals that would affirm the Nicene Creed. Roman Catholics would claim that title for the RCC itself, or at least affirm a definition similar to the Protestant one and then claim that the RCC has jurisdiction over all such Christians whether they recognize it or not. Mormonism agrees with much of the window dressing of Nicene Christianity, and occupies much of the same cultural and political niche in the US as Evangelicalism, but its position on core definitional beliefs of Christianity is so alien to Nicene Christianity that it departs from Christian doctrine even on issues where Jews and Muslims are in agreement with Christians. To Evangelicals, even CoJCoLDS comes across as deceptive (though the LDS part at least clearly identifies the actual religion involved), and the unqualified "Church of Jesus Christ" is seen as deceptive in a deeply offensive way. Evangelicals are known for vehemently disputing the RCCs claim to be / have universal jurisdiction over the global Church of Jesus Christ, but that's a jurisdictional issue: most Evangelicals will acknowledge that Catholics are at least part of the Church of Jesus Christ. The claim of the Mormon Church to be the Church of Jesus Christ is a definitional one: Evangelicals would sooner acknowledge the RCC as *the* Church of Jesus Christ and accept the supremacy of the pope than acknowledge that Mormons (or any Mormon splinter group) are in any way part of the Church of Jesus Christ, let alone able to claim that they are the Church of Jesus Christ. And if you have any sense of what evangelicals think of papal supremacy, you can get a good sense of how many pigs will fly before Evangelicals ever acknowledge Mormons as Christian.
It's so ridiculous how these guys keep saying the church is led by God when it's clearly the style and preference of whoever's running the show at the time, and how they even directly contradict each other *face palm
The CEO of the corporation sets the tone at the top
I like calling them "Brighamites" to really ruffle their feathers. It's what the other branches of the LDS church call them.
I’m totally cool with the change. Nelson is now an ex Mormon! And I get to now call myself a Mormon again, just like my ancestors proudly did.
It would appear that Gods representative on earth is serving a fickle Master. Did they change their foundational scriptures to: "The Book of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints?"
Schizophrenic isn't an extreme version of fickle.
I went to Rome, Italy as a kid. I really wanted to buy a cross/rosary bc they are really pretty and they have a ton there. But, bc we were Mormon, my mom said, “no, we don’t do crosses. It is a symbol of Christ’s death.” Now I’m a bit salty bc they are using crosses on google maps! WTF?!?
And you're still a member right?

@@alicruz4900 : It appears as if you're now in complete disagreement with the church!!😳
@@joelgoldsmith4747 more like I’m in reality and in line with facts. The leadership deliberately lies to the members. The abrahamic facsimile is a stark example. Just buy the name, if the Kirtland Temple can be sold to the Brighamites so can a name.
Thanks for this. I'm a never Mormon and planning to retire in St. George. What's your best guess for being respectful? Should I refer to my Mormon neighbors as Mormons? members of the LDS? or go thru the whole members of 'The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints'?
Just call them Mormons and if they don't like it who cares?.. They spent tens of millions on ads proclaiming they're Mormons, if they act huffy just remind them about that.

Here’s a word that doesn’t offend god - dollars !
Russell Nelson wants his pronouns respected 😂
“I’m a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints” 18 syllables. “I’m mormon” 4 syllables
I've heard Mormons say that God never changes his mind or that his standards never change. Well, it's funny they should say that because according to their own logic, it seems he certainly changed his mind about this. Given the fact that this isn't the first time church leadership has emphasized the use of the full name of the church, it seems as if God has changed his mind on this subject multiple times 🤪 😜
Even the temple rituals have changed many times.
@@heathermcdougall8023 They sure have

These various prophets that speak for God must be making Gods head spin with one counter change after another 😮
I was baptised LDS in 1980. I am a Mormon. I dont view it as a slur. Abolish the name was a "Woke" movement.
The Moron Tab and Apple Choir ?
You hit the nail on the head!!
I have always called them ‘Morons’. Joseph Smith was my third cousin, eight times removed, so I think I have the right. (I am not, and have never been, a Mormon.)
As an exmo myself although my favorite term is Foreman, (I believe Brian Dalton coined that term, check him out he's got a great UA-cam channel.) And certainly old enough to be your father. We were taught to use LDS, as Mormons was the derogatory term used by those who persecuted us. Then came the acceptance of the word which I thought was marketing genius. Having since left the church and mingled with the other so-called Christians, I can see no reason why anyone would want to be associated with them😮!
In the Fallout TV show they use Battle Hymn of the Republic. I loved how the subtitles said "Mormon Tabernacle Choir". Shows how the society refuses to comply with stupid nonsense.
The Temple at Temple Square…
I always thought it to be very arrogant when any leader of any church claims to be the only person who can speak with God. They are human just like the rest of us and no better in God's eyes. I will not go through another human to speak with God when I have access to do it myself.
Very truly stated buddy!!
I just call them Jammie Wearing Jaskasses.
This isn't a criticism...to UK ears, US pronunciation sounds like Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints. Which just makes the title even dafter.
Heavenly Father has a good memory, but it’s short.😝
I lived in Idaho for two years after college graduation and I live outside of Detroit now. The Muslims that I teach currently have more in common with Christianity than the Mormons I taught out there.
Ex-Mormon here. I'm gonna keep using the term. Nobody knows the other terms.
After leaving the LDS Church and looking into other churches the LDS Jesus is not close to the same Jesus as other Christian faiths.
I'm an Ex Mormon, through and through. Not, I'm an ex member of the church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. 😂
The Cult of Joseph Smith and Latter-Day false prophets.
Any time a church changes doctrine established “from God” it is a major clue that the opposite is true. This is a conman made church.
All the major Christian churches do not consider the Mormon church to be Christian at all. Actually, I remember Father Andy (Catholic Priest, formally Lutheran) specifically mention the Mormon church when he told us who the major Christian churches do not consider Christian. The Mormon church and the Jehovah Witnesses are two of the big ones not considered Christian. He also mentioned one or two other ones but I had never heard of them beforehand so I cannot recall their names. I think it's important to note that the Catholic church does consider Christian the Orthodox and Protestant churches. If I remember correctly, 50% of Christians are Catholic, 25% are Orthodox, and 25% are Protestant (which make up many different denominations).
I want to see an after school special about the lives of several kids who've suffered under the horribly offensive name of Mormon, only to be liberated by the new name change. Then they all go to one of those Mormon coffee joints and several of the moms in attendance cry tears of joy and healing. Live, laugh, love!
so Hinckley was in service devil? Mormon
Satan was just jumping for joy with all of the victories that Hinckley was giving him!
A good explanation. Thanks! At first I thought that Mormon was a problem but LDS was okay (in which case, because I am neither Mormon nor ex-Mormon, why not be polite) but if both are a problem, that becomes unworkable. The simple reasons is, even if as an Anglican I am 100% ecumenical in my approach to Mormons (and I in fact have no problem personally accepting Mormons as Christians), I do not accept that the Mormons "restored" the Church of Jesus Christ (since of course as an Anglican I think in terms of a continuing Apostolic succession - so there is nothing in need of restoration), and also do not accept that they are the exclusive "Church of Jesus Christ." I can accept that they are "a" Church of Jesus Christ but not "the" Church of Jesus Christ. It would be like me demanding that Mormons refer to Anglicans as the "one true Apostolic succession from St. Peter." Quite ridiculous! Other Christian groups (again, even assuming an ecumenical approach to Mormons) are similar. Baptists think of themselves as a Church of Jesus Christ, and think that they, following the Anabaptists, restored the proper approach to Baptism and church community of the early Christians, so they are not going to accept the Mormons as "the Church of Jesus Christ," Even with the other separate Mormon traditions that you mentioned, I guess most people will call them "Bickertonites," and not Church of Jesus Christ. Bickertonite is the exonym, regardless of what the endonym is.
I've always been baffled and puzzled, by the terms which have been used by this group,
even in their scripture (BOM). Where and what, are the sources of their terms and appellations
which are generally used? 🤔
Many people are confounded and perplexed by the word, 'Mormon'!
The closest I've ever come to this term in the 'Biblical Scripture' - is 'Mammon'. Which is mentioned in
the well known 'Sermon on the Mount'. A full explanation of this, definitely fits the criteria and agenda
of this group of people!!
I've heard that Mormo is some kind of term for an evil spirit.
@@carolyearsley : Interesting....something 'New'. Thanks for sharing buddy!😉
Imaginary beings can’t be offended
I agree angel Moroni is such a figment of lil Joe's imagination. Nelson is the creepiest proFIT in my lifetime
If that's not rebranding, I don't know what it is.
Say what you want, but Gordon B. Hinckley was a marketing genius and unlike Ol' Rusty, the man had charisma.
(I'll give Ol' Rusty that his field was the medical one and he missed a great opportunity to use LDS Inc's immense wealth to contribute to research and free medical healthcare for those who need it.)
Interesting. But appears ridiculous to me, a nonMormon. Love your content. It helps me understand the majority of my neighbors a bit more
GOD is unchangeable!
I'm a Mormon and prefer to be known as Mormon instead of "member" unless it's gold member, yeah baby yeah! (Austin Powers reference.) It sounds like calling yourself a male appendage.
It is way easier and shorter to say mormon and everyone will know what you are talking about if you say mormon.
The Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints tabernacle choir.
Nobody's got time fo' dat!!
Mor(m)ons
In his book entitled Mormon Doctrine Bruce Mcconkie Said that the name of Christ has always been in the name of the church, it doesn't take a lot of research to realize that McConkey is lying about this because the in 1834 the name was changed to the Church of the Latter-Day Saints. It wasn't until 4 years later in 1838 when the name was once again changed to the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. But this is a continuing pattern in order to promote Faith. They have to say certain things even if it's a lie. And it's funny that you mentioned the icon on Google maps was changed to a cross, The Mormon missionaries told me why they didn't wear a cross is that they believed Jesus is their brother and then they'd ask if your brother was killed with a gun. Would you wear a gun necklace around your neck? So I guess that their brother was killed on a cross doesn't mean so much anymore. They're so much ridiculous nonsense that they promote. It's hard to keep up with it.
Frankly, I say "the Mormon church" just to push their buttons. Mormons seem to have a hot button associated with that word now, and when you willingly reveal your hot buttons to people, people will willingly push them.
Nelson should read and consider the following:
D&C 107:3 Before his day it was called the Holy Priesthood, after the Order of the Son of God.
D&C 107:4 But out of respect or reverence to the name of the Supreme Being, to avoid the too frequent repetition of his name, they, the church, in ancient days, called that priesthood after Melchizedek, or the Melchizedek Priesthood.
Is calling it the "Melchizedek Priesthood", instead of "the Holy Priesthood, after the Order of the Son of God" a "victory for Satan"?
I guess possible denonyms then are, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saintsers, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saintsites, or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saintsists 😂
I'm not going to refer to them (especially all of them) as "saints" / "Latter Day Saints" though. It's beyond arrogant, certainly far far worse than a trans person wanting to be called by their gender identity. Maybe I'll go with cjcldsists, "oh look it's the cjcldsist missionaries" *looks back to see their confused expressions".
We need a way to distinguish them from actual Christianity. If they go by "The Church of Jesus Christ," how will we know that they are actually the church Joseph Smith brought about (which is not Christian)? The name they want to claim is too ambiguous. The word "Mormon" itself is not what non-Mormon people have an issue with, it's what they the Mormons believe and practice. They're trying to distance themselves from the stigma of "Mormon" but in doing so, they're denying themselves. Perhaps they believe the name "Mormon" is infamous in the secular and religious world (polygamy, racism, their whole dogma). As precedence has taught us, changing a word or title, does not change the objective matter or reality of the subject.
DID YOU KNOW
There is a story that linguists who study all languages, ancient hieroglyphic and ancient languages which included Joseph Smith's relatives knew the name "Mormon" (and Nephi) from old writings. And the name "Mormon" was a caricature symbolizing a foolish story, joke, or make believe! And the claim is that meaning was rediscovered around the time the LDS leaders demanded the name "Mormon" stopped being used. Now this is not a verified claim however it is a claim, and it is part of a claim that much of what was in the book of Mormon preceded Joseph Smith and was a combination of hypothesis, legends, and myths in the community of linguists. All prior to Joseph Smith's writings.
They don't want to be called Mormons, their Jesus is NOT the Jesus who is part of the trinity, so I just call them Moronis. If they don't want to named after the angel Mormon, then name them after the angel Moroni. Why not?
Joseph Smith Jr. Himself, used Mormon and Mormonism to refer to the church and the members. If it's good enough for Joe it's good enough for me.
Mormonism is at least an Abrahamic religion. Christian it is not. It is a seperate religion with its own sects, none of which have anything in common with Christianity, except for Jesus. Islam also has a believe in Jesus. Yet no Muslim will call themselves Christian. Neither the Islamic nor the Mormon gods or Jesuses look anything like their Christian counterparts. Mormon refers to the religion and LDS, FLDS, etc refer to the sects/denominations within the religion.
I agree with everything you said here. I’m an ex Mormon and I still use the word “Mormon”. But I also refuse to call trans people by their “preferred pronouns”.
Love all the judgemental, condescending, and patronizing comments of current members of the ( whatever they want to call it church) on your videos. If they are so unhappy with you, perhaps they should pray more, do good works, feed the poor, procreate, visit the elderly, read the scriptures. After all negativity in life means you are not doing your best, or you would be happy!
Why to people make a big deal over nothing??
The real kicker is I can understand the stepping away from Mormon, but they don't even want to use LDS? I also missed they're changing the name of the MoTab amongst all that. That's actually ridiculous. The changing on Google maps from the angel Maroni to a cross through really bothers and doesn't sit well with me at all. Well, I'm also still miffed they're not putting him up on temples anymore. The current prophet really seems hellbent on sanding down everything that makes the church unique and making it just fit in with every other Christian sect. It's a little irritating. Still, better him in charge than Oaks. Holding my breath Oaks kicks the bucket before the prophet seat opens up.
Ah, regardless, I as a member still use the term Mormon. It just fits. I rather like defining the church by the extra book a large portion of its beliefs are based on. I dunno.
I consider them Christian
I tend to feel like it’s best to let them be what they want, and if that’s Christian I don’t mind. But a lot of people have VERY strong opinions about that. 😅
Calling them "Christian" is an insult to every Christian.
There’s that strong opinion I mentioned 😅
i think this is a case where the word "Christian" means two different things in different contexts. Most christian churches use the term "Christian" as a shorthand for "Trinitarian Christianity" i.e. churches that believe in a Trinitarian God as described in the Apostolic Creed. It is not simply a term of self-identification, but a term of categorization. And FTR, if any church believes they are trinitarian, then im all for self-id in that sense.
But there are non-trinitarian Christian churches too, like Oneness Pentecostal, jehovah's witnesses, christian scientists, and mormons, among others. They can call themselves Christian for following teachings of jesus, for sure, but this is using the term Christian in a different sense, of a general follower of Jesus but doesn't believe in the common creed.
As long as we are all clear on that, i don't think there is any harm on using Christian in one sense or the other, but people should just be clear how they are using the word.
Agree. Christianity is a claim. But everyone can do the No True Scotsman and move the goalposts where they want.
I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (and a Mormon) and I really don’t care who’s offended by it.
As a member representing the Church, I'll use its full and complete name.
As a representative of myself and my own opinions, I use "Mormon" in parentheses.
I don't like overusing the Lord's name, and I think it's presumptuous (even offensive) to do so.
if ya want to go that route. Jesus Christ was a Catholic interpretation NOT at all derived from the New Testament. Yeshua would be the "name" for Messiah
Who cares😁
Good talk -- but I'm interested to hear where the word Mormon came from?
I had heard that it comes from the word Mormo, for some kind of evil spirit.
my guess lil joe SAW it in his hat.
