I did buy the pro version, because I desperately need some of the features like a histogram, but the free version does an excellent job as long as the device is supported. Hello Akhmal! Hmmmm. I haven't noticed that. My guess is that it's a limitation of that Mediatek processor perhaps. Or just a feature that they didn't think was important enough to include on the X4 GT since it's not a camera centric device. That is sad though.

Hello TheOne! I would do some testing (that's the fun part to me!). You'll probably want to use the Poco cam for video regardless, but photos tend more toward GCam for me. Start with a port from BSG or Nikita and see if you like the results.

Hello Monderkendeer! I do recommend the X4 GT! It falls short in screen brightness, but besides that it is very well rounded. Of course, it does depend on what you are looking to do with the device. For camera performance - it's not the best (GCam helps a lot though). Battery life, general speed of the phone, and even speakers are all very good. Software support won't be particularly reliable or offered for long. The real downside now is that the X5 Pro is out and there are sales on the F4, Pixel 6a, and other devices to consider. Plus the X5 GT and F5 are likely coming soon.

Hello Hatdog! I'm sorry to hear you're not happy with the camera. Poco did cut corners to put a strong processor in this device at a lower price point and the camera is one of them, however the GCam port linked in this video description does help significantly and another you could try is from MTSL and it's version 7.2 (available from the same site as the BSG port link). There is a bit of fiddling around involved with settings (auto white balance on/off, different HDR modes) for any port, but a few minutes of testing should get you up and running.
@@hatdoghatdog251 They will generally need to be sideloaded. So, just download the APK and install it. Still simple, just don't install apk's from lesser known sites. XDA and Celsoazevedo have been very reliable for me.

Hello Abood! Hmmmm. With GCam the camera quality is good enough for social media. Selfie video is very good, but 4k from the main camera is not well stabilized. The X4 GT is a great choice at it's price right now, but 5 years is a pretty long lifespan. It could probably make it though, but software support and updates won't last that amount of time. Battery will also struggle to make it through a day by then too. I'd say it's a good 3 year phone, but 4 is pushing it.

I would say either roll back to a BSG version that is compatible, or go ahead and try tuning BSG's 8.5 yourself--if there are features in that version that you really want to use. I know, that's not a great answer--but I don't know how to force an XML to work on a port that isn't supporting it unfortunately. Hello Marco! I still have the X4 GT, but I haven't done any further GCam testing. My favorite developers are Nikita, Arnova, and BSG. I have the most success with their ports. Also, for config files and other tailored ports--telegram and reddit usually have good suggestions. I hope that helps! I have more X4 GT videos on the way!

From what I've seen, different OS's require different package names *sometimes* (Samsung for example). Generally I test the snap or mgc versions.

Hello! Yes, the model I tested used the 8 gen 1 as well. The F4 GT is still worth buying in 2024 I think. Just a shorter android update lifespan.
