Yea I kinda jumped the gun on the Dyno request. Would you consider the hedger upgrade I have an arsenal of the professional grade units and would love to see you beef one up .have a great day Joe thanks for the awesome work
Nice lil 60cc! I love the one Kevin carved on for me.. 034 super Kś cylinder on a 036pro case, carb throat work and advanced timing these lil 60s are the real deal!
The 034 super has been my go too , for firewood for 20 years. I 2 that run. One is ported. And a 3rd is a basket case waiting on parts. So I'm a fan . Well done sir.
You’re correct Joe that is the Kolbenschmidt mark on that 034 cylinder. Kolbenschmidt actually is producing the cylinders currently for Husqvarnas Brazilian saws The 395xp 288xp 281xp and 272xp
My 044 10mm and 034 have clearanced rod's like that. My 034 doesn't have bridges in the transfers which I've never seen before it was 102°EX 121° transfers 72°IN with the base gasket all stock.
Hey Joe nice work on all the power saws and content ,really enjoying it. And chance you would consider porting a Husqvarna high powered hedger and throwing it on the Dyno? They are are hovering around 50cc as is would be interesting to see if you could make a monster out of one . 525HE4 Professional or 522HDR 7DS professional.
Standard 034 is 57cc, 036 and 034 super are 62cc. Some of the standard 034 have open ports but most are closed ports, and all the 034 supers and 036s are closed ports. I think the saw joe worked on is an ms360 arctic with the air filter and plastics from an 034S.
Yes the ks is a kolbinshcmidt cylinder and on certain models of Stihl it’s deemed the better cylinder for port size and shape but depends on models. I think every 075/076 I’ve looked at was a ks
I built it for a work saw not a shelf queen. The tank vent is better on the 360 tanks and I prefer flippy caps to work. I like the non decomp 034s cylinders better than the 036 cylinders. Basically just a custom job. I have a nos 034s as well.
The 028s are kinda heavy for their CC size but they are such a tank of a little saw, love them. Willing to bet they would take to porting pretty well, the 028 supers are pretty torquey stock, and they have a pretty nice pop up piston stock.
Anyone know where to get get high quality bearings for the 028super? I'm interested in starting to port saws but I'd have to get a more modern saw to start with as I don't to blow up a classic on my first try..
@@seanmchugh4283 most stihls have a proprietary crank bearing on the clutch side that you’ll need to get it through a Stihl dealer. Get both sides from the dealer, price is pretty much in line with any other standard sized high end bearing.
My grandfather bought this, it was left to my father when he died, and it works perfectly, it is a very nice saw, I love it very much.
Please do a exhaust dyno comparison with various muffler outlet size openings. People are clueless about exhaust velocity vs backpressure.
This and your previous 036 build video really have me anxious to see how my own 034/36 build turns out. Thanks for the vids Joe.

Dam that's a clean saw props to the owner!
I'm in the UK and own an 034 real little saw thanks for the vid dude

Kevin builds a mean saw too! Bet it is a blast to run.
This model has such a distinct stihl 80-90ies sound at idle and starting to rev.
I have one of those scrapped for two years now. Was hoping to get a cylinder and piston for it. Thanks for the video!!
@text-6989 ok thanks
I have ..
💪🔥 You forgot the base gasket joe 😂
Ugh..... Hope it don't leak on me...

is there a non super version of this saw? I just got one today and i think it just said av on it but ill have to double check
@@jbbolts yes. There is a 034 av that's not the super.
@@takeashawnoutdoors5518 thanks, yes after checking again I have the non super model.. I'm trying to find out what the difference is
@@jbbolts I think it's mostly internal . A few degrees of timing and a cc or 2.
Sweet saw! Nice gains! I like that other orange one in thumb nail too!😀
Dang good looking saw for sure, sounded awesome!
Very nice saw
I was wondering the same thing about a 357xp I have torn down. It has a lot of rod clearance like that as well. Great job as usual 👍👍
This saw beats the hell out of 60cc farmsaws that only put out 4hp or so. Man would I like to see it cut some wood!

Very Good Saw , well done Mate!
Nice build. 👍
Thanks Joe.
Good class thanks 😊
That’s good power for a 60cc saw
Nice job
Thank you
Great video !
Great job buddy! 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
Badly want to see a 039 dyno comparison with something like this , more cc but compromised in a few areas over the 034 .
Damn Joe ! Where are u gettin these cherry saws from ? Looks like they just came from the factory 🏭

It would be fun, but not sure I would be able to run it on the dyno though.
Wow Joe that thing is KLEEN! European model? Very impressed with your gains. Those 34super/ 036pro and 044s are my personal favorite saws.
Another great build Joe.
The new saws just don’t compare to these older models and the 034super is an all time classic
👍👍👍
I don't think that is an 034S. I'm pretty sure an 034S wouldn't have flippy caps. The 034s was probably short lived and turned into the 036.
I’m no Stihl guru, but I’ve been told the big difference is in the cylinders. The Supers had closed ports, where the normal had open ports.

@@rileyjohnston8393 I agree, I think it is 360 with 034 plastic.
Hey Joe, what sealant do you use on your cylinders?
Hylomar universal blue
Good deal, thanks 👍
What difference should be kept between the exhaust from the cylinder and the muffler in %
There is a rule.
I don't really use a percentage on the worksaws. Normally remove the baffles, and add 1/2"-5/8" hole and deflector.
Nice saw Joe! Yes that was the KS logo. What's the story behind the 034 Super with flippy caps?
Beat me to it...360 cases st the very least.
I wonder if someone built it using nos parts, and new oe parts for the nos parts they couldn't find
I would guess for the arctic parts? Not sure as to what/why on this build.

Hi Joe, have you ported any/many 028super Stihl saws? Would there be as noticable a difference in power output on the smaller saw?
Have not ported a 028, but most small saws gain well.
The 028s are kinda heavy for their CC size but they are such a tank of a little saw, love them. Willing to bet they would take to porting pretty well, the 028 supers are pretty torquey stock, and they have a pretty nice pop up piston stock.

@@rileyjohnston8393 I'm in Ireland. Dealers don't stock parts for 30+yr old saws. That's why I was asking you guys in the US/Canada.

Yes

No, staying closer to home these days
@@dynojoemods2764 darn, I'd be interested in sending you a saw to Dyno if that's a possibility
Is that a NOS saw?
Per zee germanz at Mahle, it’s pronounced “molly.”
did someone have a new leftover 034 or what?
Built from new old stock parts.
I said Mahle like molly until I spoke with German Mahle rep. He said it was mollay.
whats the difference between an av and a super?
I do not know for sure. But some of the other "super" models are larger bore size.
