Barb didn't die at 11:10 but I did kill the ranger with a zap I thought I missed at 11:50 so the counter ends up accurate! @plebor look why you throw that ending in there, people didn't have to know

As a rogue main I never encountered wizards with the light orb, nor did I know it took us out of stealth. Those guys were like deer in a headlight.
it was a buff in playtest 4 i think, light orb was pretty much useless back then so they gave it a reason
When did they change it to take rogues out of stealth. I saw someone try in pt5 and they couldnt
Watching one of the best in the world die to a trap makes me feel like less of a total smooth brain at this game.

i know i shouldn't watch vids like this because it only makes my withdrawal worse but i just started playing wizard at the very end of the playtest and it was so fun, awesome to see an elite wizard pop off in high rollers. something to aspire too 😄

"How'd that fighter not die" instantly claps him lol them zaps insane.
here is a breakdown for the calculation of damage from a spell like zap. for zap in the calc I'm assuming a body shot (1x damage), 0% magic damage reduction, 0% increased magic damage on your character, running the burn duration perk, and you have +30 additional magic damage from gear. which by itself isnt very hard to get if you are focusing entirely on it.
initial hit of spell
(Base+added)x(multipliers to damage)=total damage
(20+30)x1.00=50
burn damage of spell with the extra duration burn perk
((Base+added)x(multipliers to damage))/(duration of burn)=(Burn damage per sec)x(duration of burn)= Total Damage of burn
((1+30)x1.05)/1=32.55x(1+2.5)=113.92 damage burn over the full duration
113.92+50=163.92 damage from 1 zap over 3.5 secs
Most people dont realize just how crazy the scaling gets, since the damage over time scales the additional damage as well. making any flat rolls 2x or more effective. For those that wonder why wizard has been in the main focus of balancing during the play test. This is one of the reasons.
Maybe they could just make it so flat increases to damage don't apply multiple times per spell (afterburn, magic missile, both hitboxes of fireball) instead of reducing each spell's casting capacity. Seems like that would do a lot more to address the root of the problem.
fire mastery doesnt apply to zap though, so no extra burn duration, only 1 tick of it.
@@clowdk thats what they did for poison for tru magic dmg. They probably just have to rework their math and the names of all the different types of enchantments/modifiers.

Zap cant limb/headshot, and the burn duration perk doesn't work, how have you not tried to zap the dummy once?

Watching 10 spell get played in all of its glory is amazing, but damn does that campfire micro look tedious.
Losing items/ abilities, and checking opponents loadouts in the taverns needs to be reworked. And testing weapons also needs a place in the game, not just pre game lobby as well.
This game will lose popularity if you rework losing items

Just an FYI, True Magic damage doesnt increase damage. It just converts existing magic damage into true damage.

@@YourLocalMedic Yes, if you have +10 magic damage and +5 true magic damage. You still only have +10 magic damage. However 5 of that 10 will ignore resistances.
I don't believe that's true. Lots of people say that tho but it would make True Damage one of the worst stats in the game
@JayGriffyuh I mean its already been tested and proven lol.
I personally tested it on rogue on the dummies. True magic damage gives you 0 extra poison damage. While additional magic damage scales as expected. This makes sense as poison is already true damage.
Youre right. Since defense is so useless, true magic damage is also sort of useless. True magic damage less so against barbarians running the magic resistance perk.

I believe it was added as an effect when they nerfed wizard, or maybe the one before. Very useful imo and good with newer teammates who don't throw torches
Was added this playtest to break rogue Hide/Stealth. Doesn't work for invis wizards nor the invis pot

Uhhh possibly. I basically just went +damage of any kind and less preference on +All Atts. Didn't experiment as much as I should've tbh

@@Nero1444 Five ninety free my friend. Most was given by chat and I bought a few pieces for maybe around 500g. Unique book came from Aovnick44 who is the cleric for the #1/#2 boss farm teams.
Some of the pieces alone are 2k-3k gold+, such as the book or necklace.
Gloves couldve been better but I estimate the worth of this gear for last playtest to be between 7-9k gold.

I just started playing Mage at the end of the playtest.. how does he have so many spells? And why use those light orbs?? Regardless, this gameplay made me crave more Mage solo runs lmao
he said in the video he uses those light orbs cause it breaks invis on roques and invis potion

also instead of taking meditate, he's using both skills for spell memory, letting him take double the amount of spells. he uses the campfires to get his spells back

Flat damage is pretty out of control for sure. Should probably be limited to on-weapons only. Raw stats if you want damage from other pieces.

yep, he did around 180 damage with that zap and that rogue was at most 120 hp
@@EsotericCat Zap with perfect stats does like 130 at most. The math above in the comments is wrong.
My zap was hitting either 122 or 125 with quick mafs. Zap stronk and 10/10 will be getting nerfed

They should add mana to mages instead of charges for spells. It makes no sense to have a ton of free to use spells with 30+ damage stats, the anti-rogue orbs are also stupid since it makes rogues useless when you have that many orbs. +damage stats should also be nerfed a lot because it makes it impossible to balance anything.

I love wizard but it needs some kind of rework or balancing. Not that he's too strong or too weak, but I really dont like the fact I have to be sitting on campfire half the game. I think a real mana system would be better

You die so easily on wizard. It's a mystery how any bottom 99% player maintains multiple blue/purple sets.
nah not really, sure you have a high potential for death, but skill is what decides if you die easily or not. You can outplay ranger longbow with invis, you can outplay barb one shots with movement, but you cant outplay a rat rogue with crazy stats. A geared Rogue is pretty much the only thing you will die easily too with or without skill
Why learn how to do math, when you can play video games for money?
