The normal coffee maker: Get up, shuffle downstairs, hit the switch and sit down. The Legendary Erik Normark: Walk through blizzards, climb mountains, ski miles, ice skate frozen rivers and lakes, cross rivers in bare feet, collect wood, build fire, axe through 4 inches of ice, use 11 year old kettle, open fire, use wooden spoon/cup thing, sit down, take a sip, take it all in and then thumbs go up. There is no youtuber better than Erik and ive watched thousands
I remember watching your videos in 2018 and being astonished by your morning bitter coffee ritual, me not being a coffee drinker back then made me so confused onto how someone would drink something so bitter, and then you replied saying the taste grows and becomes part of the ritual. I then started experimenting with coffee and here I am, starting my day with one of your videos and a cup of black coffee :)
I do wish our rivers would freeze over so we could skate down them, but then they tend to be fast flowing and this does not tend to be good for skating. Thanks for another inspiring video.
Thank you for your videos very much. I and my daughter enjoy watching your videos and especially winter camping. We are from Canada and very much enjoy outdoors as well. Thank you for inspiring other people and passing the experience through videos so well.
I get so much enjoyment from your videos. I know you thank us for watching, but the real thanks goes to you for making them. And please keep those hallmark moments, the Crowe, the ☕️and, 👍. All the best from Ontario Canada
In English they are called "nordic skates" or "touring skates" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_skate#Touring_skates I believe in Finnish it is something like "Retkiluistin" Swedish "långfärdskridskor", Norwegian "turskøyter". It shouldn't be a problem finding them in Finland, it is more difficult in North America.
It's difficult to imagine it being that cold anywhere at the moment, hopefully Santa is busy whipping the elves in the sweatshop & not wasting time playing in the snow. Great sequence where you head for the bridge & a train passes overhead, that's what you call timing.
Crikey! I could feel your fingers turning to ice as you took the gloves off to make your fire. Amazing to watch you chip away at that frozen river and not get hurt by shards. And I learned that you folk in frozen areas have blades for different ice surfaces. It's not all smooth as I'd imagined. 😊 from Queensland, Australia ⛱
Great as usual. I noticed that many times there is hardly any wind in your videos. Compared to this I struggle to light a fire with a match on my hikes due to gales and wind most of the time.
Hej Erik, looks like northern Sweden had a very short autumn. It’s amazing that the river is frozen enough for you to skate on so early before winter. You excel at making fires on almost any surface to brew your coffee. Great video, especially the train on the viaduct as you were skating upriver. Tack sa mycket.
Thank you for sharing. This is the first time I've ever seen skates like this and looks very practical! I can't seem to get enough of these videos. Erik, I feel in some way I'm living vicariously through your videos until I can get on my next hike (Which will be in a few days at this point). Keep up the good work!
Rubbish! There is inner enjoyment you obviously aren't able to see. If Eirk smiles like you say he would then be doing the artistry thing your talking about. Back to bed matey.
The vids by Erik seem to cause a yearning to be there more than almost any other vlog does. It's been so long since we've had a proper winter where I live. Climate in crisis.
The skates return. For my use or interest no, but I will admit fascination with skate that uses an NNN BC binding. Great visual story, bringing in the environment, a nod to the gear then listening to the wild. Trains are always cool too.
Hi! Thanks for your videos! I even decided to try Nordic Skating. Can you recommend a buckle-on type of skates like Isvidda Multiskate or Lundhags Multiskate for a newbie? I don't have any specific ski boots, I only have a simple winter hiking boots. Someone told me that a fixed heel needs a different skating technique and ankles will be loose with buckle-on system.

Erik. For the love of goodness, never change your style. its better than all the rest.
Finding peace in solitude, but willing to share it with shows great virtue. A million thanks from Seattle, WA.
The part where the train passes overhead is classic......especially for a former train operator as yourself. Well done!

Det är härligt att kunna åka en längre tur med sådana skridskor. En mycket intressant och vacker film, igen. Tusen tack, Erik!
Beautiful Erik. It doesn't get that cold in Tennessee but your rainy day hikes have given me inspiration to do my own. Thanks Jeff

Thanks for another inspiring video.
My house doesn't have snow. I live in Thailand I therefore like to watch you and follow you. If I had a chance in my life I want to do like you.
It sounds crunchy and happy. Thank you for sharing. The echoing sound on river and lake ice is eerie and lovely.
Good Morning Erik ..
My Sunday morning 'fix' (with coffee 👍😊).

The oldest ice skates ever found were from Finland around 5000 years ago and were made out bone. Imagine the ride you could get with those ;)
What did the vegans say about that?
@@irriterendenavn They must've been really really upset back then! :D
Awesome.
Wonderful as usual. Seems very cold very early this year.
Beautiful winter scenery 👍🏻😉 We still haven’t got snow here in Denmark 🇩🇰
