Vic, your family is beautiful! My father-in-law and mother-in-law were both from Grumo Appula, in Bari, came to America in the 50's, and lived their entire life in Throggs neck section of the Bronx. I remember the Sunday dinners she would cook. You could smell the sauce from the front sidewalk. She would make everything, meatballs, bracciole, sausage, then bring out a chicken dish. There was always something else after the pasta and meats!! I loved the fried breaded whiting she made. She would make a huge bowl just for me!! They are both gone now! Treasure the time with that beautiful woman. I have tears in my eyes as i am writing this!! God bless all of you my friend!! Health and Happiness always!!
I just starting watching your videos Vic, I’m so glad I found them their giving me a good laugh while we’re being quarantined. You and your mother in law are adorable, your quite the pair! Your very lucky to have her, unfortunately I’m not as lucky, oh well I guess you can’t have everything right
This made me cry. Watching her cook at the start and hearing her talk made me think of my family and the holidays back in the day. I miss them so much. Nobody understands like we do. Going from a table with 20 or 30 people and kids running all around to 5 this year is worse than death.
Holy crap, my family is from Bari too!! Such a small world... It feels like watching my family, and since I cant see them much because we live all over the country now, its refreshing to watch your videos and remind me of where I came from. :))) Thank you!!!
My mother used to make the same soup when we were in brooklyn.. I like your videos Vic..If you come to Florence let me now,I want to offer you a coffee..
Scolabaste I think is the word that mom used for colander. Not sure if I spelled it right. Brings back so many memories. Thank you so much for these wonderful videos!!!!!🍜
Hey Vic. Love your video. You have a wonderful family. God Bless!!! Listen, next time you guys make this amazing dish go to a restaurant supply store and pick up a "spider". It's a very wide spoon like spatula !

Nothing like real life :-) wish my family got together more at least once a week for a big Sunday Scandinavian Irish Italian German African American Indian Swedish French Ukrainian Egyptian Arabian Asian Caucasian Spanish dinner. 🙋🌈🌷🐬🤜🤛🦄✌️🤗
You are so blessed to still have your Grandma . Mine passed away from cancer when i was only 22 . We were best friends . I grew up with no mother so Grandma was like a mom to me . She taught me patience , kindness and how to forgive . She also taught me how to cook and sew . I miss her so much i see her in my dreams and someday we will be together in heaven . 🌌🌄👵👧
Vic my father was born in Mola. Mola is not known for the food. Everything is usually boiled. They boil vegetables and pasta, everything is boiled. Sorry I was in Mola for two months.
Yes that is delicious. I like egg noodles with tuna and peas . I use frozen peas because canned are just too soggy for the pasta and tuna . I think i will try Alfredo sauce with it too . 😀
Gee thats funny. My longtime Sicilian/Napolitan boyfriend, who is now deceased, got me into the peas and macaroni. I eat that so often. I love peas. This fish dish with pasta looks very nice. Great job Vittoria & Lucy.
Vic, I enjoy you and your mother-in-law cooking together. I’m Italian too: 1/2 Calabrese and 1/2 Neopolitan. I make peasant food too because it’s healthy and delicious. Love your videos!!!
Your MIL and your wife are very patient with you being in the kitchen with them. My dear departed Mother would be yelling at me to get out of the kitchen. LOL! God bless you all Vic. A lot of love in your family.
