    Way to say what a lot of us feel. I worked for CSX in Port Huron and love the channel. Keep up the good work.

      Thanks for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the content. What did you do for CSX, would be great to bend your ear one day over a beer.

    Will be at the Woodstock one for sure. I'm in Pt Rowan. Track 2 on our layout is the CASO line. I was a kid beside it outside Tillsonburg during the rainbow era. 🚂🚃🇨🇦🙋

    I know exactly which post, and exactly which group you’re referring too…it was definitely a little over the top. Glad to see that there’s still common sense from other folks in the group!

    Hi Jason. Great to see you back again. Have been watching just work and life has gotten in the way the last year. But I do agree that berating someone online is not a great way of dealing with an issue.great to see the hobby group got behind the retailer in full support. Here in New Zealand we have about 3 brick and morter shops left.

      @@chessiesystemcanadianopera2143 It is good yo be back. I did have to have a break for a while as work has been nuts. As for the new kayout .hmmm very much still in design at the moment. Space is limited and trying to get what I want into the space without overloading it with track and industry for switching. Hope to build bench work this winter and start laying put my track plan onto it. Will get back into video updates once bench work is down. I have settled on a year which is 1986. So still lots if chessie,B&O family lines paint and some very early CSX stealth units. Your layout is really looking good. 👌

    Well said if you can’t say something nice don’t say it at all. Especially on someone channel or main stream media. Whether it’s someone’s about a layout or a Hobby Store issue. Should always be able to reach the store and talk to them if there is a problem. Positive comments or suggestions on how to help ideas. Should be how we grow in the Hobby. Keep up the great work. 🇨🇦🥓🚂

    First of all…AWESOME hat! I agree with you…There are so few brick and mortar retailers left, we have to take care of them and remember they are human. Now, if they are wrong, and don’t treat you properly, well, then I guess I understand the desire to let people know, but IMO, you had better be able to show correspondence, etc to prove it! I’ve received damaged items and have gone through proper channels to get it remedied. I’ve also called a retailer and NICELY suggested that they might want to add a little more padding when they ship something…Most times it was well received because I was respectful and nice! Too many people are so quick to get on line and bitch. I wish more people went on and told stories about GREAT customer service, or a great product or experience!

      I couldn’t agree more Chuck, you are helping to prove my point. There is absolutely nothing wrong keeping retails accountable and making suggestions, it’s the internet trolls that are dragging the hobby down. Unfortunately these people get a disproportionate amount of attention with in the industry. As always glad to have you here following along thanks Chuck

    It is unfortunate that you are unable to get away from this type of behaviour. It seems that in every walk of life through multiple situations people feel entitled to put down someone else based upon their own ideas. It is refreshing to hear a group rallying and standing up for what is right

    I didn’t see the thread, but you need to be familiar with the retailers return policy. I purchased a locomotive and sent it back to the manufacturer twice, leaving the retailer out of the loop because it wasn’t their fault. When the locomotive still didn’t work, the retailer would not refund my money because they have a 10 day return policy. So, because I wasn’t familiar with it, I got stuck. I should have returned it immediately to the retailer instead of working with the manufacturer. Live and learn on my part. I would buy from the retailer again now that I know their policy, but won’t buy from that manufacturer again.

    • @chessiesystemcanadianopera2143
      @chessiesystemcanadianopera2143  2 роки тому +1

      Absolutely an understandable situation and a tough one to learn the hard way. For the individual in question he went straight to accusing the retailer of selling him a display model. Saying it had been tampered with by the staff, it was not a nice situation. Particularly given it was a local well know and well respected retailer who deals internationally. But most importantly you demonstrate my point well, you attempted to handle the situation in a professional manner and even when it didn’t go your way you took the opportunity as a learning experience.

    It seems like this is a common problem across multiple hobbies. There is always someone complaining about miniatures providers without doing some simple problem solving and understanding. Is it because we’re all about instant gratification? I don’t think so, but I hear that floated about as the reason quite often.

    • @chessiesystemcanadianopera2143
      @chessiesystemcanadianopera2143  2 роки тому

      I think your bang on Brian, it’s definitely prolific across most hobbies. It is most certainly the instant gratification as well as some kind of misguided sense of entitlement. It really is shocking though to see this type of behaviour becoming more prevalent.
