    Michelle, you are the real deal. I absolutely love watching you. Your energy is amazing. You give good vibes, lady. We’re getting the rain too, but I’m planting and transplanting so I guess it’s all good. See you in the next one!

    I've been gardening for decades and I've never heard your advice about cutting out the stem of tulips after blooming. Interesting. Up here in MN, I let my tulip greens feed the bulbs until they eventually die back to nothing. They have rewarded me with beautiful blooms every Spring year after year. Maybe we have the right amount of cold stratification, but this past winter was incredibly mild and the tulips were the tallest ever and some had changed color. I've never bought red tulips but they were blooming in my front garden! For years I had clumps of purple, pink, white, and peach tulips. My Spring Alliums are twice the height this year, too!

    Thanks for mentioning the pre-emergent. I desperately need to get some. I'm tired of pulling weeds. (Really people are probably tired of seeing my butt up in the air as I bend down to pull weeds.) You're so conservative by reusing your planting pots for several years. I reuse them many times myself. We all need examples of savings in these times. Maybe you could even paint them with that concrete paint to get another year from them. After you trimmed that one bush the front bed looked great. I love the leaf you did. I got to do it.

    ❤your Chanel ! Thanks for walking us with you as you garden. I love the tips and process you have tried and have results with. It helps me in my work as I garden so much! Thanks!
    Sometime ~ can you go over the differences in containers ~ what they are good for and what things shouldn’t be used for this or that ~ for example, concrete containers over winter do’s and don’t ~ what goes in it and things that would be fine in a plastic container vs a concrete or terracotta ~ or metal
    Thanks!

    Another great video! You mentioned fertilizing tulips. I planted a bunch of daffodil bulbs last year. All I got was the green leaves. Only a few bloomed. Do I need to fertilize them to get blooms next year? Thanks for all of your great advice 😊

    • @gardeningTLC
      @gardeningTLC  4 місяці тому

      They also need sun to re-energize the bulb and it does this by soaking it up through the leaves as they die back. Fertilizing helps too.

    Great video! Loved seeing your process (both physical and mental). Your shade garden looks fantastic! And the changes you made and the pots will make it even better. Nicely done! I guess we all assume (I shouldn't really speak for others and just stick to my own thoughts) that someone who owns a garden center will always choose the right plants and know exactly where to put them. It's so comforting to see that you have failures or rethink some of your decisions just like everyone else. I find that I experiment a lot and I have a lot of deer and rabbit issues. I've decided to get ruthless! I'm going to systematically choose and/or replace the plants in my garden with those deer and rabbit will not eat. I did find a list on Proven Winners website that includes many more plants (both deer and rabbit resistant) than I thought possible. But if my garden ends up being just boxwood, daffodils, salvia, and iris....so be it! Here goes. Wish me luck!!

    I've always enjoyed watching your garden videos. I've got some tips that I've implemented in my own garden. I'm wondering what is the name of that greenish gray begonia. You mentioned "gray beyond" and I could not bring that up. I ordered from my local garden center the PW Pegasus begonia (not a Rex), and they could not get it. I called the others in my area, and no one has it. It's on the website, but I was hoping my local garden centers carried it. Yours looks alot like the PW Pegasus does. Thanks! SE Pennsylvania

    Would a pre-emergent like Preen also stop maple tree and rose of sharon seedlings from growing? Would it help control wild violets?

    As far as your pot's if they're not broken, you could spray paint them for a fresh look
