OMG I had that "You & Wii" book! I think I might've gotten it prior to getting my Wii, so it was probably the thing that hyped me up for the system funnily enough. I still remember some of the comments that the guy in the book made in the section where he was creating his Mii, like how he said his hair could best be described as a "curly fuzzball" lol. I could've SWORN that book was unofficial though, but the Official Nintendo Seal on your copy seems to suggest otherwise. Maybe it was unofficial during the initial print run, but they later got Nintendo's blessing with later versions? Or maybe I just have a really bad case of the Mandela Effect idk.
I'm actually really curious about AKB48 & Me. I'm not into idols at all but this is the only Mii product I know of that features real life people depicted as miis as the focus, and I'm wondering what the experience of that is like and how much merch may have come out since AKB48 is *such* a long running and massive idol group in Japan.
it's not mentioned in the merchandise list but back at the launch of the 3ds i went to a game store and they let you design a mii on the 3ds then they printed it in store on photo paper for you to take home. i don't have mine anymore unfortunately but maybe someone else who went to a store that did this still has theirs and can verify.
