Hey friends! We won't be posting a vlog this Friday (August 19). We went a little too hard last week and Lindy needed to rest up. But we will be back next week! See you then!

This is absolutely the best puppy video on UA-cam I’ve watched so many to figure out when to plant the seeds how to collect the seeds and everybody makes it so complicated so thank you thank you thank you this is a great video

Great video! Can I harvest the poppy seed heads while they’re green and allow to ripen off the plant? We just got through a heat wave in SoCal and all the foliage is completely brown and crispy so I want to clean it up but would still like to harvest the seeds.

That was so cool to see the lids just pop off and seeds pour out. Its own natural carry case. Thank you for sharing this with us. I would love to see an update on the grow bags. I definitely felt like I was in on that bag filling project. I would also be interested in seeing what else is growing in your raised beds and permaculture area this time of year in your area. Blessings, -Kate

      Hi Kate!
Thank you so much for your comment! Isn’t it so fun to pop the little cap off the poppies?! It gives me an instant serotonin boost, I swear! 😆
I did a little update about a month ago on the grow bag garden in the vlog linked below (starting at minute 11). It looks even more spectacular now so I’ll post a longer proper update soon! I’ll also be filming an update on the sheet mulched permaculture area because oh my goodness! Does it ever look different now! 😃

That's the last thing I need. Although, let's face it, plants probably would be one of the top reasons I'd get in trouble! 🤣

Hi there, wanted to ask if I could send a photo of my poppies to positively identify them? Planted years ago in honor of my Father who was a 25 year Navy Test Pilot. He loved poppies. They are red & huge & try to get them growing in other areas but no luck. Live in Littleton, CO, so need to try again at best time. Love these videos & will follow along with fingers & toes crossed. How do I send a photo to the wonderful star of these videos? Thanks, Sue (yep, I don’t do much or any media etc, live in dark ages, only like gardening videos 😃!)

If I bought some bread seed poppies from Walmart in the baking isle, would they germinate, and would that actually be illegal?

You can 100% grow papaver somniferum in the US, I bought seeds from 3 different regular everyday seed suppliers last year and grew them in my yard! You may even process them into seeds for baking, no problem. You _may not_ harvest the sap from the pods to create opiates.

Good to know! Thank you for sharing! I still wouldn’t be going around telling people that I’m growing them though! Especially growing them to save the seeds! 😬
