No, its not a stupid decision.
It is necessary, you put your blood and sweat and priceless time into developing a company's business, and you are worth your fair share.
If you discover your time, dedication, efforts and services are much better valued at some other workplace, you must ask yourself, why doesn't your current employer value what you are worth and you should value your employer just as much.
many factors to consider, but hey for any reason, don't stick to a company who doesn't fairly value your services.
you deserve every rupee you are worth and not a paisa less.
Yes I agree bro
I would really discourage people to even watch this video , staying in the same company for years actually can even make you redundant in the external world , I think the speaker has not done any calculation , getting 10% hike in a year vs 40% hike in external company means a lot , the speaker I think doesn't know that every month the take home is increasing by 30% which is a lot of money ,No one can ever have a satisfaction from every angle in any job at least in this competitive world and in that if you don't grow at a faster pace then more or less you are just redundant or you have ancestors money as a backup to releive you from bad times..
All companies will not give 10% hike every year to employees who cannot put down papers
Absolutely bro
So true. I was looking for this in the comment section.

As companies work for their profits, you must work for your profit.... common sense....you want 4% hike each year staying in the same company or 30% hike by changing company for salary and quality work????????? Salary hike is not directly proportional to good work in corporate world.... it is all political
Bhai... kyaaa jawaab hain!!!!! excellent reply
I was getting 1% hike and for some years 0% while working for one of India's top 3 IT services company. This was despite of being an excellent performer and getting some big but dry awards. This led to introspection and led me to believe that unless you cannot change for some external factors and you are very settled into your job with a lot of power at your hand, you should look for better options else you will become a loser in a very short time

Stupidest reason! This was the stupidest statement i.e. concluded by incomplete knowledge. The whole capitalist world is run by rapacious people. There is no room for passion. There is only 2 options
1) Sacrifice your passion for income
2) Make pseudo passion that is taught by motivational speakers. This pseudo passion & income can work together. Same trap is offered in this lecture in the name of reinventing the self.
Do let me know if you have any third option.
No conclusion & No reasoning for that statement. True, whole world run by greedy PPL...either you switch job for money or follow ur passion. Same motive in both cases - money. He just told entire scenario, with different paraphrase I.e. reinvent urself. Situation can be anything, what drives the most is money.
@@ashokvar1991 I agree with u except point of reinventing. Let me clarify how reinventing point is misleading. There r 2 kinds of reinventing. 1) False one: Switching job by developing new skills one after the other. It suggest us to remain under the similar trap with new colour. It can't create harmony in dynamic state.
2) True one: One can know his suitability in any field irrespective of his academic background. This may lead non-professional profession. It creates harmony in dynamic state.

I don't think that his advises and views are applicable for people like me who belong in the middle class, our only hopes for a better future for us and our parents is to earn more money, his parents were army officers so sure that he never had any financial problems.

Well the majority of the transformation is taking place due to the people from non IIT and non IIM students, when was the last time you heard that IIT/IIM brought change in the business and in the country they have lucrative jobs in Tech and investment banking.
Nikhil Pal IIT and IIM guys are elite the companies run behind these candidates and that’s why they don’t the situation of regular who have to struggle and excel in professional careers
This, people, is why we shouldn't assume that everyone from IIM is smart! There was a time when I was aspiring to get into IITs and IIMs. Now, I laugh at myself for that.
Despite all this 'talent' emerging out of our elite universities, every major technology product that Indians use in their daily lives comes from China or other foreign countries.
Y u think everyone from iim is smart, iim have 65 percent reservations.
cricket freak Because they were enough qualified and they have enough capabilities that they cracked CAT or JEE with their hardwork and it becomes their habit , and because of that habit they are popular and smart . But many people don’t get selected so they feel little bit of jealous. But when you come to reality majority(About 98%) graduated are productive for sure anywhere they goes.
If not iim no good job
Guys I feel maybe he tried to convey that don't jump from one toxic environment to another toxic job just for salary because that doesn't solve the problem and at the end you are still not happy.
This. The title is a clickbait, and you're right
Shifting companies for a better salary is not at all stupid. If another company agrees to hike your salary by 100% or 50%, that means they value your work that much. Most companies are not ready to give salary hikes to their employees. They know that if this person quits another one can be hired. Probably for less salary! It might make sense to stay in a company for long if you are financially well off and you already are getting a handsome salary. Otherwise, if you see an opportunity, just take that. You will think that money cannot make that much of a difference. Trust me it does!

I read the title and came to say it's stupid to not switch. PEOPLE, DON'T TAKE ADVICE FROM THIS GUY, SWITCH TO A HIGHER SALARY ASAP. There is no point in being a loyalist to a company and being stuck doing the same tasks over and over. Keep learning increasing your skills and demand pay according to what your skills deserve and if you don't get that then move over to the next employer that will pay you your worth.
We respect you opinion,

This guy has no idea of what the fuck pay torture means for an IT Employee every month when he is getting less salary and Manager abusing him. Companies wont pay more than 3-5% and then one day you are fired and wasted your prime age in single company.
This guy is a type of guy all are in management and they don't want to pay loyal employees good salaries.
Money matter, u want me to become slaver with out hikes? Don't Sell your product just make it Free.
Well each one has their experience and existing personal ciscumstance to take into account while switching. If you are at a company giving 5% yoy hike, it's better you switch for 30%. Nothing wrong in that, after all we work for money and in India, which is highly populated and where companies want you to work 60-70 hours week.
