    They are doing well. Out of curiosity, I researched what happened to the dolphins and how everything was done. Thankfully, the Koreans did not release the dolphins without a plan. A very careful team of scientists made sure they can catch fish on their own before they were released. And so many other precautions were taken. Now this Jeju dophin release case became a golden standard/protocol for releasing an aquarium dolphin. I was very glad to find this out.

    • @starandfox601
      @starandfox601 5 років тому +251

      Not very likely.
      Since they do not have a pod, they do not have the skills needed to survive and have lived for 20 years in captivity.
      Rehabilitation and release only work if the animal was recently made captive and the only thing it was trained do was to survive in the wild.

    • @tursiopss

      You know this was possible because of a lack of animal welfare laws on the country? They looked for these dolphins months after their release by following different local pods and in close areas and never found them back so it is quite probably they actually died.

      @presentmic3605 3 роки тому +10

      @Budget Boost DIY the problem arent the big chunky parts, well they are but more of a problem are the mircoplastic parts which seperate from chunks of plastic after a while and these are toxic and kill the sea live over a longer period of time. We have to bond plastic in such way that is stays in a brick and nothing leaks out. Melting it into or with something that keeps it stable.
      Plastic parts are like glass for humans, they kill pretty much fast when they are eaten or swallowed.
      Microplastic is more like nuclear radiation over a looong period of time, it kills you slower and maybe destroys your dna structure so your reproduction is endangered.

      This was done very wrong. Those dolphins were never seen again although there were some projects done to look for them. This is not how you should rehab an animal. There are no laws on animal welfare in Asia which is why anybody can really go and buy those dolphins and send them to the sea having no idea at all about what they are doing and then end up causing more damage than help to the animals
