    PART 2 of my „DOUBLE ENDERS SERIES”
    „ENTERING FROM A BOAT”
    I had been asked hundreds of times how I get into the water from a boat. I had also heard numerous comments that sidemount is not for sea diving and that sidemounters are ready to descend when most backmount divers are already doing their after dive safety stops😊.
    This episode is about getting in from a sea boat with cylinders attached to d-rings, a method I use when I want to limit my time on the surface prior to descending. I put some captions to make it clearer but I left most of the video without comments as a video is to be watched with attention to details and not read constantly. For reading we have books and manuals.
    I divided the vid into 4 short parts: 1. Preparing/stowing the regs 2. Entering from a bench. 3. Entering from a deck. 4. Returning on the boat.
    Please, feel advised these are just the ways I use on a daily basis and again!!! I want to emphasize the fact that these ones might not be the best and only. I simply find these methods useful for the dives I do.
    PART 3 of my series is already filmed and is being edited. It will include alternative ways of jumping in that are my personal favour. So stay tuned for more if you like (or even dislike) this episode.
    I would appreciate sharing, liking and commenting as this really took me a lot of time repeating, filming and editing. Being able to do a thing does not necessarily mean it is easy to film it😊.
    Forgive me for any technical mishaps if you notice any but I make these educational videos for free using my own resources and friends’ help having no financial sponsorship. Neither do I gain any money for publishing them online. Call it a passion or a sidemount mission if you will😊.
    Special thanks go to Marcin Hajdasz from #DiveTopCentrumNurkowe in Safaga, Egypt, Piotr Stós (camera) from Nautica Diving Center in Vis, Croatia, Adam Wasiak (camera) from #FreeFrogTV, Jacek Szpros (camera) and my brother Jacek Michura (camera).

    Great video, showing exactly the steps needed to dive sidemount from a boat. Thank you very much

    As usual very high quality material with a lot of effort and dedication, which is not nearly reflected in the number of views. Mission is the right word for it. Thank You!

      Thenk you Johann for your kind words. I don't really care about the numbers of views and I don't promote the vids anywhere. Most of my views come from facebook where I publish my videos first. Take care! :)

    Hello Tomasz, thanks for the fantastic videos! I still have one question about the roll forward, sittingvon the platform. How you cover the mask, without hurting yourself in the face area when tuchingbthe surface?

    Great video! Just one suggestion. Get the xdeep nx bolt snaps. They are a game changer. You will not have to fuss with them ever again.

    With a dual bladder BCD, does it make a difference whether you attach dry suit inflator hose to your left cylinder and right cylinder connecting to your BCD for giant stride boat entry so long as you have pre-inflated both (dry suit and BCD) to provide positive buoyancy at surface at start of dive with heavy Steel-100 High Pressure cylinders????

  • @NaiyinTan

    What should I do if the cylinder tilt up?

    I know it's been a while since this video is made, but why would you intentionally put strain on your hose when stowing the short-hose, when you have a turret that could easily face downwards for smooth routing?

    Hi Tomasz, I have a question about sidemount, can you do a back roll of a rib boat in sidemount going straight into a negative entry dive? The D-rings on your Xdeep harness do not look like the standard D-rings supplied by Xdeep. Can I ask what modified hardware do you use on your harness and where do you get those modified D-rings on your should straps please? Thanks.

      The D-Rings look like the ones made by Sump UK search for him on facebook.

      You can definitely roll off a rib into a descent. Like Tomasz showed in this video you can attach the cylinders while sitting on the side of the boat, with some double-enders to your chest d-rings to help support the weight. Attach the inflator hoses and put in your reg so you have something to breathe and a way to control buoyancy. Then roll off the boat without inflating your wing. Finish set up during descent, i.e. removing the double-enders.

    Kindly inform us (ALL) where we can purchase those flat D-rings on the chest of your BCD. Please provide a web link.

    Why do side mount ( and maybe others) have black regs compared with most recreational divers with yellow ( Easy to see) ?

    • @triman500
      @triman500 2 роки тому

      ...and why do they donate their in mouth reg and use their spare. Wouldnt it be safer to just donate the spare ????

    • @sidemountsarge
      @sidemountsarge Рік тому

      To answer your first question: most primary regulators come in black. Sidemount diving uses 2 primary regulators, no need for an octo.
      You have to balance the pressure in the cylinders, this requires swapping regs.

    at 7:54, dont you trap your longhose with the inflatorhose?

    • @tmichura
      @tmichura  3 роки тому

      Yes , I do. On purpose. If you are having doubts why there are two possible reasons for your question; 1. You either do not dive a dry suit or 2. your SM instructor has not informed you about the consequences of doing it the other way round.

      @@tmichura I do have a drysuite but never thought about this. can you explain more?

    • @DroPsyDro
      @DroPsyDro 3 роки тому

      @@tmichura Ah I think I get it. When your horizontal in the water, the hose is held thight to your body by the inflator hose. It actually isnt trapped...

    • @tmichura
      @tmichura  3 роки тому

      @@DroPsyDro No . It is not the main reason. When the long hose in Sm is over the inflating hose (not trapped as you call it) in case of having to donate the LH (and the 1st stage of the regulator is a short one - liek apeks for instance) the LH will get stuck and squeezed at the extension post of the valve hence it may stop the air flow as the turret of the 1st stage is forced to move down not up. But... you learn about these things during a proper sidemount course:). At least one should:). Regards.

    • @DroPsyDro
      @DroPsyDro 3 роки тому

      @@tmichura Ok now I get it. So basically you want the swivel to turn against you and not away from you when donating. Thanks for explaining!

      Your Polish swearing shows your class and your English grammar only confirms that impression. What you dislike may be pathetic but is it less or more pathetic than your spool handling at the end of your great video with 22 views? Let alone the dangling and not secured second stage regulator possibly from your stage cylinder. I suggest less wine on nights preceding national bank holidays:) and more practice.
