  • In this video I review the iconic minerals that are sought after by the Ontario collector. Local rockhounds are especially interested in finding these specimens. Amongst those discussed are titinite, apatite, feldspar, silver, uranite, diopside, corundum, sodalite, amethyst, pyroxene, amphibole, tremolite and hornblende. I speak about where to find these minerals and how to find them.

You said crystal lake...now I am imagining the looks id be given at the border if I made sure to have an old hockey goalie mask and a toy machete setting in the back seat. That would be funnny

Nice informative video! The camera you used in your room there has a white balance issue though, everything looked yellow which doesn't do your specimens justice.

Dude I love your videos but we will never know how awesome those minerals actually are unless your camera can focus better than it is now.

Looks like Rockhound heaven. Cubic Pyrite and native silver are more classics I hope you will explore.

Liked and subscribed. I have many of those minerals... none as good as what you're showing. A very informative video! (p.s. looks like my place - books and rocks EVERYWHERE)

Great video! Ontario does have some amazing minerals. Have you ever been hounding in Nova Scotia? The Bay of Fundy there is even better than Bancroft, in the sense that there is so many minerals, and so easy to get. Shame that NS is so far from me, though...

Eh guys lov the vids. My name is Ryan I'm 37 I live in Hamilton now and would love to get out hunting with you guys. I've been interested in minerals since I found a big cristal of gem quality amethyst in Britt ont when i was 13 but never went hunting after even though I lived in Stirling Ontario 45 min from Bancroft but never got to go hunting there or Marmora. If your up for it i can pitch in for gas and lunch. I also fly racing drones so i can get some footage from the air for your vids if you like. I would lov to hear from you. Ps. I know nothing about minerals but I listen well learn fast and Im just fascinated by how they come to be. All the conditions that come together to make something so beautiful. Have a grate day and hope to hear from you soon if its in the realm of possibility.

You forgot Sphalerite. Another one of Ontario's beautiful minerals.

I love sphalerite. I almost put it in, but it went in favor of not going on too long. I had also thought of including tourmaline, quartz and galena, but I had to draw the line somewhere.
