INEOS Newton Aycliffe - Weekly Siren Test | 14 December 2023

- INEOS/Inovyn have one of their main manufacturing sites located in Newton Aycliffe, in County Durham. The site employs 2-3 sirens to act as its Major Incident alarm, and these are tested weekly, at 10:45. Tests usually consist of four or five blasts in the "wail/attack" tone, with roughly 20 seconds of "alert/all clear" following after a short break. It was nice to once again hear the “attack” warning from a 10-12, having only previously heard it from the Calderdale GP12 - my three visits to Portsmouth have all been fruitless, and no other site I’ve visited to date has used the signal.
It isn't known specifically what sirens are used here, nor where exactly they are within the site - though from what I could hear, it sounds like one is in the north-west corner of the site, with another being on the east side.

The test begins at 0:37 for those who want to skip straight to it.
Great sounds and video!!!
Backlit asf (sun came out about two minutes before lmao) but who cares, was just great to hear one of these again 🤩
@@al66class59how come thease sirens run a faster attack signal. They seam to be klaxon gp12s with breaks to stop the choppers quicker than a usual air raid attack and i say klaxon GP12 sirens as secomak GP12S had motors that ramped up the choppers slower also ramped down very slowly like its liddle bro the GP8
Can’t wait!
I’ve heard these sirens before in videos like Belfast and Hampton, but I still have no clue what this siren must be because of the wind down speed and the pitch of it. Carter maybe?
I think what siren I'm hearing is a Grifco Model 888
Idk why but they kinda sound like Gents
I feel like these sound like GP12s, similar to the one in the Calderdale system.
One sounds like a new KLAXON GP12 but the loudest one sounds like a customized GP8. there is another siren but i dont know what it is. They are all dual toned and have a faster ramp up than older gents sirens specialy the GP12 and its the same signal hampton water uses wich is a faster attack signal. The ramp down is faster so they have a break which quickly slow them down
Deffo KLAXON GP12s
World war sirens epic 🙂🙂🙂🙂
These are newer sirens. I think they are secomak/klaxon GP12 sirens with breaks to the motors ramp down faster and thats why the attack signal is quicker than the original attack warning olus they start quicker aswell so they must be custom made for that cite
What sirens are they
The short answer is nobody really knows!
@@al66class59they are customized klaxon gp12s that have a break to slow the speed of the siren quicker like hampton water works witch is a Gents
