Ordered one of these to replace the android 6 unit that came in my Civic. It's cool but slow as molasses when doing most tasks, plus just has the 5 inch screen.
I’ve got a video on my channel showing how to install the push button start, and another showing how to upgrade to the red button. It’ll be in the Civic EK playlist, otherwise you can look through all my videos for it. It’s a great upgrade!
There’s a few plastic tabs holding the vents to the radio bezel. Use a small flathead screwdriver and pick tool to pry the tabs back to get them to pop out. The pick tool also works great to run along the edge where the vent meets the bezel, so if you have a similar issue where someone glued it in like mine, you’ll be able to scrape off anything else that’s holding it in place.
Got the same one for my EK, was going to ask you did you update the license plate lights and what bulbs did you get for them it says the civic coupe isn't the same ones as the hatch.
Yes I did upgrade the license plate lights to LED in this video - ua-cam.com/video/8wiOWQfrMoA/v-deo.html - I've got everything I used linked in the description. It's a 194 bulb, and it looks like it should be the same from 1996-2015 Civic coupes/sedans/hatches

I can’t seem to get my ac vents off at tip tricks? Should I heat it up w a heat gun first or anything thx

They’re glued. I ended up breaking my old climate control just to take it off
after using for several months now, how do you like it? how is wireless carplay? any considerable lag/delays?

@@XyavierSalazar see I broke the head unit and not the vents so I just used a metal pick to clean out the grooves in the vents

was the wiring used for the head unit completely stock? or was there additional wiring needed before this step?
The head unit includes a wiring harness that connects the factory harness to the iDoing radio. It’s plug and play, so no cutting or wiring required.
I’m confused I have a EL mine is 96 first year and all the climate controla are diferente on the bottom

It should be compatible with a back up camera, and I believe iDoing does make a similar headunit for the 01-05 Civics.

not for what it is, I think for it to come with the trim is a bonus. I had one in my dodge dakota and LOVED IT

The one I used in the video won’t fit, but iDoing does make a touchscreen headunit for the 2001-2005 Civic. You’ll have to look through their website.

Did one on mine definitely not hard just time consuming, had to take my dash out then go to the junk yard and take that one out too
