I hope to get around to sending you an email Question tomorrow. There is a discrepancy in both the 1040 instructions and publications relating to how you should calculate your EITC for 2020. The narrative all says that unemployment compensation IS NOT included in figuring your EITC. However, the worksheets you are instructed to use all end up using your AGI which does include the amount received from unemployment. In doing taxes for my son and his wife, I realize it makes several hundred dollars to them. I am down to reading the statutes to determine which is correct. I will not stop until I get a resolution. Hope you can help because I do not WANT to read the law as approved 😉.

He said he had worked min wage before and he wasn't born rich and so it's also past experience relatability. I can get that as someone who now makes 6 fig income, but I came from poverty. I too care about min wage workers and people struggling right now. Same with his friends Graham Stephan and Andrei Jikh. They weren't born millionaires and are more relatable because of it.

Why aren't non-filers that file stimulus thru rebate ARE NOT fully protected from garnishments!!?? I've seen it happen only ppl that filed through the portals (but not available anymore) are protected from child support or any offsets. There a confusion about it...some ppl say that if it goes direct deposit you're protected but if it's mailed to you it can be intercepted 🤷☹️

@@robb5270 We will see a rollback of the tax breaks given to the 1%. Those who exponentially prospered in this K shaped economy. This aslready puts back $2 Trillion, as a starting figure, back into the economy. We would not have to go through these large measures if this country had not targeted the 1%, had a balanced tax system, and expanded key infrastructure and social programs. It makes zero sense we have no national health system, for example.
Take a look at Iceland - the avg income per citizen is around $3000-5000 per month, the population is highly educated AND they have a national health system. They tax heavy and the country is prospering. Everybody. They pulled themselves out of the deep recession in 2008 and put bankers in jail. Asian countries, except India, are doing the same. No developed country or emerging economy is allowing billionaires and multinational companies to not pay their fair share. That's why everywhere was going so far ahead of the United States.

I filed with Turbo Tax the form was added on the 25th of last month (according to a Turbo Tax Rep).
@@khrisMG i know it was released and i can fill the form out but i get an error for ny filing. It says they are still making updates to the disaster distribution form and the error will go away when its ready. The rep stated its because once the form was released they needed to validate with irs that the form turbo tax uses was compatible. Hopefully i can file next week

You will probably have to wait until you do your 2021 taxes to receive the 10,000 credit. I am sure they will have a place on the form for you to show that you didn't get it for the 2020 tax return.

If you made less than 75k its okay to file, if you made more just wait until you get your deposit
First, you don’t file your W2...you file your taxes...now, to answer your question, if you qualify to receive the stimulus based on either year 2019 or 2020 and you did your 2019 taxes then there is no rush to do 2020...however, you definitely don’t want to file 2020 if you made more than 75-80k or beyond in 2020...I’m gonna go ahead and assume you didn’t make over that amount so as long as you did 2019 then you’re all set..just file 2020 by tax day April 15th lol (if you made more than 75-80k or beyond in 2019 but made less in 2020 due to reduced hours or whatever, you def wanted to file 2020 by now and it’s probably too late)
Basically file before april 15th.. but it doesnt matter unless you made more than 75k last year... I'd just wait so it wont get weird for the IRS or my tax prep guy.

Under 75k to 80k AGI if you filed single, but Under 150k to 160k AGI requirement if you filed married jointly. In my case, we qualify still with 2020 because I'm only one working and I don't make 150k total, much less AGI lol, so I did mine soon as I got all the forms I needed to file.

@@robertorozco4932 I definitely think it'll be done separately, the $1,400 stimulus is it's own thing and after the bill is signed into law the IRS will probably need a bit of time to then "fix" and recalculate your refund with that $10,200 UI offset.
Lol...no, you won’t get more stimulus check...Kevin seems to think easiest way is for IRS to calculate the adjustment and fix themselves but there is also talk of you having to send in amendment...I have seen it says amendments take 16 weeks...either way you’re looking at that time frame

The first stimulus check through me off, I got mine and the $500 for him, then another $1200 deposit that I thought was a mistake until I got the letter from the IRS explaining it. Very nice, gonna put it towards moving into a better house.

Filed taxes jan 30th accepted by irs feb 13th. Been over 21 days with direct deposit. My unemployment taxes were bumped from 10 to 12 % cost me xtra 2k$ in taxes which made me ineligible for earned income child tax credit. I hope they get all that figured out before the finish processing my return. Really needin the $. Wondering how much longer til return will be processed.

Kevin, my son didn't qualify to get stimulus last yr because he was 20....... He did his taxes for 2020 and he claimed himself so he can get the stimulus neither of us got for him. But he has to do an amendment now because it included unemployment which was taxed. If he doesn't claim himself on the amended return will he have to return the 2020 stimulus money he received? I was going to claim him on my tax which I have not done yet since adult dependents qualify for the upcoming stimulus money........

Happened to me on the latest stimulus check. Everyone got DD on January 5th mine was rejected and my check came in the mail February 18th
So if it’s rejected just be prepared to wait 30 days atleast before they issue another refund in the form of a check

Child support will garnish the stimulus if you file the rebate on your taxes. This has happened to someone I know personally.

I don’t believe we do. I think the only non filers who will have to put in info are those who didn’t sign up for the first 1,200. They already have your info on file I’m 99.9% sure they just gonna use the same info again. Unless you changed adress or banks it wouldn’t make sense for them to make you put in the same info again.

My guess is if you claimed your wife as a dependent you’ll get paid for both her and your child. She is a US citizen if you are and you’re legally married. I hope you get the full thing friend
