I bought a 2017 U-25 in 2021, for 28 K, with a hyd thumb and quick change bucket, that had 300 hour TT. I put 100 hours on it, and sold it for what I paid for it a couple years ago, thinking I was done with projects on my 70 acres. Now I'm going thru withdrawl! I've looked at all the little Chinese rigs, but I'd afraid the Kubota spoiled me. Never heard of a U-17 before, sweet machine, I sure liked my 25.
Same machine, except I had the thumb installed at the time of purchase. Interest 4.08% $46,211.00 (Oct 2022) I didn't have the luxury to price shop, unfortunately. Plus, I didn't want a dealer out of my area. Typically, others won't take care of you like the original dealer from where you purchased it. During the pandemic, from 2020 to 2022, you were on a 6- to 8-month waiting list to purchase a mini-x in our area. Inventory was low, and when a shipment came in, the units were sold within a week, if not on the waiting list. It was like this with all the brands. Kinda crazy, really. Best of luck, and I hope you enjoy the machine!
Amulet POWERBRUTE Hydraulic Bucket Thumb for 1.5-3 Ton Excavators. You'll need a return to tank valve installed to operate the thumb. I paid $2000 in all for mine. In that round plastic storage container behind the seat I put several lynch pins for the quick attach rod because they will come off when digging and the quick attach rod will fall out. I started zip tying my lynch pin and the quick attach rod because I've almost lost the rod while digging and if you lose that you're through working until you can get a replacement.
@@brandonsdiyprojects I use my U17 to install french drains, clean up overgrown areas of property, put cut up trees and limbs in my dump trailer, etc. The thumb just makes that work so much easier. I first had a mechanical thumb but getting off and on, off and on to reposition it was wearing me out. I really like my U17. I can get in between close trees to clean up, I can go across lawns without completely tearing them up, and I can pull it with my 1/2 ton truck if needed. It's small but surprisingly powerful. Enjoy.
Would you happen to have more information on how the return to tank valve is installed. Maybe some pictures or just how it’s hooked up. I talked to a couple kubota dealers and they have no idea. The return to tank valve.
Have a question. That is a great excavation tool for confined areas but how do you transfer the excavated material to a truck that is outside? Driving back and forth would obviously work but there has to be a faster/easier way that I just can't think of.
@@brandonsdiyprojects Yep; that would work in my backyard. My wife would be so angry if I did hire someone to do the project I'm thinking of but at least now I think it is practical if someone has the equipment.
Awesome machine!! I actually have a brand new thumb for that machine I’ll trade u for that rear end off that kubota mower the only thing is it’s a mechanical thumb but u could add a cylinder to it to make it hydraulic
I just bought a YH20D KYMRON 3500lb with standard thumb and kubota 722d engine for 18700.00 from K&R equipment . I got standard 16" Bucket and added a 8" half price of the u17
How much you’re liking it? Mine is pure chinesium garbage. I just got the same machine on Auction in Ritchie Bros with the whole set of 9 implements for $6200 final w/tax. No promise on warranty on mine, but I think I’m going to buy another next month for spare. Maybe check your local Auction site and get another one, they are going for less than 6k for the 1,5Tons Kubota and about 3K for the 1Ton B&G. Hope you get some of your money back
I have one of these in Australia, indestructible small machine, very well made.

Compact stand on skid steer or a compact backhoe with a loader bucket. Like the Bx23s or the scl1000!

Nice! I’ve seen these. Like to know how they hold up!
18700 - resale, if you can find a buyer, 10000 in 1 year. U17 35,000, resale in 10 years 30,000.
