Coming back to where it all began. This is where i discovered you. The first Rome campaign, with two fields of Mars in Rome. Even then I knew you was my total war youtuber. Here is one I can follow, here is one I can call king of total war!
Same here! This is how I discovered all of the total war games in general… now I’m addicted. I was 11 years old when I watched all of these Rome 2 let’s plays. I love coming back to watch these and relive my memories :)
omg... I was 10 when i watched this video 9 years ago, this video shaped me as a person to what i am now and made the total war games my favorite games ever, i still play Rome 2 weekly to this day thank you for making this series and making the inspiration to be the man i am today
considering I recorded this on release day when I had no prior experience of the campaign game I find it hard to see how I'm an idiot for not seeing how expensive mercenaries were in the long run lol. Was basically trying out a feature of the game by getting them only to then realise how expensive they are lol.
You probably know this by now but there is somewhat of an advantage in building two military builds (Field of Mars in this case). As you can see when you upgrade it there's two options, if you have two you can have both types of military buildings. This way you'll have a variety of units to recruit, a negative would be that you're sacrificing a building slot that could have been used for something you don't already have.
lol, wish youtube would add into its ad algorithm to not show the ad if someone is already subbed to a channel. While I appreciate all the extra views and new subs it generates, I can understand its probably annoying after a while.
It's a smart rule, because as a player you'll be depending on your generals a lot, that means you have to be careful about the game politics for any general can turn against you and you might not be able to immediately create an army to stop him, so it sort of increases the focus on the game's political side, which is not a bad thing.
i agree because im a Original Rome TW player but at the same time its more realistic this way because Rome wouldn't send an army or legion with out a general or legate to lead them
UA-cam decided to randomly recommend this to me, after 10 years. I certainly feel nostalgic, after remembering coming back from school to watch these videos. The gameplay also reminds me you were once new to the game as well XD
So I started watching your lets plays about 2 weeks ago and I thoroughly enjoy it I learn new things as well as its nice seeing someone play the game and seeing some different views on situation. Thanks!!!!
Has it really been 10 years?? I keep coming back to the Rome series because of all the memories. Thank you for keeping your old videos up so we can rewatch them.
Gary if u dont like dont watch lionheartx10 does his best and he doesnt want to be getting bad comments or abuse and if u dont have something nice to say dont say it at all :)
Craig McKenzie Vass I don't think it was any kind of reflection on Lionheart or any of his videos which I personally think are great and are subscribed - I think he was saying Rome II was a disappointment, not Lionheart or this video especially.
Craig Vass ***** Matthewx777 Are you seriously all clueless as to what his comment was? He simply shared the video on google plus and it shows up as a comment. I'm in a little disbelief here.
A good way to make people more happy, is getting a champion and do his regional action (telling people tales). You cant move your agent out, but it is very usefull for conquered regions.
How the frick do you zoom in to their faces???? i can come close but i can never check their faces up close, wich zoom or button is correct for doing that?? please help
I just bought myself a wee gaming laptop to get me through my night shift and this is the game I’m going for. Been a console peasant all my life and really looking forward to this 😊
Benjamin Rome Clarke the Total War campaigns are not historical by any means whatsoever. You can get Marian Reforms in the Original Rome: Total War by 250BC when the Reforms actually occurred in 107BC.
I'm not under any obligations to CA to play certain difficulties etc lol. I made the faction choices a while back and the difficulty of hard being optimistic if anything but I get what your saying about facing it at its best on legendary and I will do a campaign after these on that setting :)
A good processor and graphics card are what you want mainly and also a big hard drive. Processor speed around 3GHz and about 500Mb ram on your graphics card. These 2 things seem to be my main things to meet. This is if you dont have much to spend.
Adam Mansfield Can you tell me one good Dell Computer that has these that I can find at Best Buy or Walmart, or any other big retailer. Something I only have to drive like 5-10 minutes away to get?
Theres a lot of taboo about buying pre-built PC's but there is a steep learning curve so if you don't know what you're doing I'd say its the way to go, you can begin to learn when it comes time to upgrade your PC.

Love your Total War videos Lionheartx, I hope once I build up my new computer I'll be able to play Total War: Warhammer, pity its only the first one and not the second
Why not lol? As you can see I'm a PC Gaming Channel focusing on the Total War Series, the real question is why wouldn't I want to record some gameplay on release? lol.
Funny fact: in the italian version of the game, if you play with Rome, the initial tutorial is made by the same voice actor that gives his voice to Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars.
Great videos, Its awesome that you play and upload videos just because its what you do and you love doing it. Its also a great way for social networking so keep putting yourself out there.
Quick tip: Mercenaries are EXPENSIVE. Do not hire them until the turn you will use them on. Hiring them then carrying over through a turn is expensive and unnecessary, they should be an add then drop after being used sort of thing.
Julia clan is pronounced "U-le-a". Apparently they were the first 'Romans' as they were Trojans lead by Aeneas from the sacking of Troy which eventually lead on to Romulus founding the city of Rome. Same clan that Gaius Iulius Caesar was from (and as a result Octavian/Augustus as well).

No if you can run Shogun 2 maxed your PC is fine for Rome 2 you just need to wait for the game to be patched with optimisation fixes. No need to upgrade.
The second field of mars could have been usefull as you could build both: manipular barracks and auxilary camp. With that you would have got more recruitment possibilities
google Can you run it - and go to that site, Type Rome in the list of games and select Total War: Rome II and then click on the begin detection box when a box pops up (there is 3 options but i use the top one
be careful about buying mercenaries as they cost a fortune in upkeep.Only recruit them just before a battle so you save money for next turn by killing them off.
Lionheartx10 You lucky... You haven't experienced the terrible optimization for many players and the graphical errors, 5 hours straight i played anyway, I could not stop playing IT!
Words like "Magna Graecia" are spelled like "Graekia", because the letter "C" in latin is pronounced like a "K" and also the "J" is pronounced like " i " (not an "L") as in Julia = Iulia. Eight years later and the game still looks amazing.
I never saw someone putting 2 barracks in the same city
But it actually is a good idea if you want a large garrison force

the thing that pisses me off the most with rome 2 is that you can't recruit troops without a general.....
Daniel3445 it is also the same with Rome 1
Nope with Rome 1 you can recruit troops in any city if you turn the auto management off.
It's a smart rule, because as a player you'll be depending on your generals a lot, that means you have to be careful about the game politics for any general can turn against you and you might not be able to immediately create an army to stop him, so it sort of increases the focus on the game's political side, which is not a bad thing.
