Paradigm Blue - "Fording the Dawn"

- Copyright by Iristorm Music, 2001. Paradigm Blue was a young Prog Rock trio from Raleigh, NC. "Fording the Dawn" is the lead-off track on their one and only CD, "Liquideyes." If you're a fan of stuff like Rush and Dream Theater, this should be right up your alley.
I once had a different version of this song, where Auspex--err, Ruben, sang it in a lower key and the melody was just slightly different. Especially noticable at 1:03 where he wouldn't stretch the "of" at "in an ember of light" that long in and 1:16 where he'd go "away-ah-kens and ri-i-ses" without the falsetto. While these vocals are awesome and gives a trip down memory lane, finding that other version would truly spark a tingle down my spine. If I had this on a record, the tracks for Fording the Dawn, Atlantis and There Is No Spoon would be so worn out.
Thanks Mark for uploading this, and thanks Juan (or should I call you Rockwell, or Ytsejam?) and of course Ruben for these gems.
Hey! That's awesome! Ok I have to ask, how did you get the original Fording? Even *I* haven't heard it in ages! Also, keep an eye out here this friday ;-) : paradigmblue.net/
@@YtseJuan I don't really know! Me and my brother are/were members of the StarCraft community Antioch Chronicles. I reckon my big brother got them from there by one of Ruben's posts about your band. :)
@@GosuRaistlin @Juan Mantilla I was also part of the Auspex Studios / Antioch Chronicles community way back and have vivid memories of the "original" Fording the Dawn recording. If I remember, Ruben Moreno (aka Auspex Turmalis) just made the mp3 available for download on the site. There were a couple other tracks too, "There is No Spoon" and... something like "Shadows of Penumbra?" I think that last one was meant to be used in Antioch Chronicles III: Thoughts in Chaos, which was never finished. Now I'll have to dig though my collection to see if I actually burned the old version of "Fording the Dawm" to a CD-R haha. Don't get your hopes too high though, i probably didn't :(
@@yaeroplane6400 Hey man, any luck in finding the CD?
Never give up, never surrender. We're coming back.
Juan! I was a member of Tri-Net and remember you guys releasing "Atlantis." I confess I only checked out the full album a few years ago, but I fell in love with it! Wanted to share it with everyone. Good luck to you guys, and I'll be on the lookout for more original material from PB!
Really love your guitar work on "Candlenight," BTW.
Thank you! It's been a long time coming but it's all happening! instagram.com/p/BKzczasgAEW/?taken-by=theonlyjuan1976&hl=en see? :)
+Juan Mantilla Oh hell yes!
Hey, Juan! Any update? When's the new album coming out?
Keep an eye on Paradigm Blue social media THIS FRIDAY.
Thanks, Juan. I’m on your “Bandcamp” site. Will check it Friday.
