This is how to turn SBMM off in Call of Duty via the Netduma R3 gaming router. Netduma uses a geofilter and ping stabilizer to optimize your connection. However, it can also disable most aspects of Skill Based Matchmaking. ATVI finally acknowledged SBMM in Modern Warfare 3 via a post on the CoD blog explaining some parts of the matchmaking process. This video is also my Netduma R3 review and unboxing.

You’re not cheating, You’re just ensuring your matchmaking connects you to the closest server. Just like activision says is does

  • @GhostRooster

Really cool that you can see the servers being pinged as you are searching for a game!

Thank you Driftor for the content you’ve put out over the years! I’ve always loved your videos.

I remember you made a video around like MW2019 (or maybe it was Cold War) where you said how you, “found an exploit around SBMM and reported it to Activision” to avoid it being discovered/abused. IMO it felt like you cared a lot about the game back then.

Been using their older R2 router, its been great for gaming

    Super interesting! Thanks for sharing!

The matchmaking algorithm is still going to work normally, including skill matching. You just won't get put in servers outside the region you set. It might lessen how much the matchmaker can force skill, but "turn off sbmm" is very misleading

    Ty for this🙏🏼

I'm a big fan with Netduma. The geo filter is nice but using it for home network as a whole is just awesome.

  • @WilliamTheGamer

I've had every Netduma router. They are always a buggy mess lacking some of the features advertised. "Coming soon". My current on refuses to connect to anything with geo location on. I disable it, and still connect to 18ms servers no problem.

This misleading… Yes it’s a great router and yes it can help improve on connection but what it won’t do is disable skill based match making. He’s not lying but he’s being colourful with the truth… Don’t buy it if you’re expecting to avoid sbmm it’ll be a waste of money.

I'd love to see where all the servers actually are on a map. Could you make a video just going over the entire world map briefly? I live in Finland and never get a ping below 40, I'd love to know where the nearest server is.

So would this work with a console such as the ps5? controlling network stuff from a pc to the ps5? if so I am considering this. I play most my games on console.

  • @diligaf1000

I have the xr1000 its good but i think the main benefit to geo filter is when playing solo

  • @MetalFacedGamer

I travel for work and I bring my laptop with me along with my headset and controller

I've been using Netduma R3 for two months, insane hit detection, ranked lobbies look like swaag lobbies, the geo-filter features really work, anti-jitterr keeps your game very smooth and fluid

  • @shado170

Need a new unit so might as well give this a go

I would like to see so more in depth testing. Maybe looking at a larger data sets with geo fencing and not at a specific time of day etc. I’m curious about this product but am very much in the fence. I have seen so many bad reviews for this router though every router is nothing but bad reviews including the one but I haven’t had an issue with it
