I just helped a friend of mine do this job and we had a hell of a time identifying the fittings. He followed the directions in the manual that came with the new dryer that told him to install a 3/8" flared fitting but when he went to connect the hose to the valve it would not fit, the valve was bigger. So we went about 3 times to the hardware store trying to locate the right fittings and on the last run to the hardware store the employee asked him what size fitting he had on the appliance and he said 3/8 so he was told that that was too all and to remove it and install a half inch fitting so he had to buy a half inch kit and that did the trick. It was a waste of 5 hours for a job that should have taken half an hour😆🤣 Live and learn.
I have a problem and your expertise advise ~ I have a laundry cabinet that is built out from wall, and will surround my LG Washtower. For the washing machine to be flush with cabinets, and have access to the back components, I need to extend everything at at a 9' length to be able to "get back there" how do i get a natural gas line longer than 6ft?
If I run CSST gas line in my house to connect a generator, how longe doe the fittings last? It doesn't seem that they would have the same life as black steel gas pipe.
When connecting the gas line to the flare side of the fitting why would you not use the yellow pipe tape? On my gas dryer the installer put that on the line.
Hi, manufacturers don't want any tape or pipe thread compound to interfere with the soft material on the flare side. It's designed to be metal on metal for an air tight connection. Hi, I would extend the gas pipe first using black pipe, then use a flexible gas connector.
