Great overview. I also find the introductory adventure kind of an odd choice but happy to have the pamphlets as well. I didn't notice the area of effect or "damage spread" rule you mentioned in the combat section.
It's on page 122, below the weapons table in the equipment section.

I was looking at Mothership, but I think I like this better.
would love to see some good comparisons of these very similar seeming games.
@@hawkthetraveler6344 I sort of like DIS for its mechanics. Mothership's (0e) percentile system isn't as good in this case.
Mothership has some excellent modules well worth running in DIS

I played and runned both, mothership is great but I think Death in Space is easier, especially if you want to run longer campaigns which is basically impossible to do in mothership since characters drop like flies.
I am wondering what is the maximum ability score that you can reach... can't find anywhere.
It's not stated anywhere, but the highest score you can get at generation is +3, so that could be the maximum. Or just don't have a maximum. It gets XP intensive to raise abilities.

Anyone knows of a The invincible (upcoming console game) type rpg set in the 70's, 80's era. With more retro like, low sci fi. Maybe with some robots and/or space nazi's on the Moon or Mars ?? 😁 I would love a game like that.

Contact Free League or your retailer about that. I think that should be ground to get a replacement with bookmark.
