  • There are many beautiful fresh water albino fish. In my opinion the Albino Threadfin Acara (Acarichthys heckelii) is at the top of the list, the most beautiful albino in the fresh water world. Do you agree? Disagree? Let's talk about this centerpiece fish that is currently in my 90 gallon rimless aquarium.

They are simply beautiful. It looks like you have two males and three females from what I can see is that correct? Yeah they’re really nice. looks like they are starting to blossom as you mentioned I really have not seen them in any of the local stores and I’ve been to all of them in my in the Fort Lauderdale area. As I mentioned simply beautiful and the tank looks great.

So I had two albino hecklii’s for about 6 months now and I recently lost one to a parasite…they are pretty but very aggressive towards each other…watch out, your are getting to that time where they fight for dominance, they are very placid when they’re young. The difference with these fish they don’t seem to ever give in, they will never stop fighting each other and they will hurt each other.

Yes, they are very stunning and I'm not sure if this is the case with all of the albino tigers, but they don't get so gigantic too quickly.

May I ask a question - how long does it take for the beneficial bacteria to take hold in a sponge that is tucked away in an aquarium to be used for a new aquarium? Thank you.

I would feel confident after a month to six weeks.
