The President using music to communicate with aliens is from the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind it was released in 1977 so you might not be aware of it but it was a huge hit and is considered a classic.
It's crazy how studios today are failing so hard to create "strong female characters" meanwhile Susan's been girl bossing it decades ago. A true icon. I loved this movie so much as a kid and I love it so much now.
What DreamWorks did with her character in 2009, it’s better than what Disney and other companies are trying out with the whole “strong female characters” thing going on nowadays. Also, I find Ginormica herself to be more likeable and not so childish and obnoxious compared to some of the other characters we get these days as well.
Exactly. Directors nowadays think that in order to make a ‘strong female character’, they also need to make their characters a lesbian (no offence to lesbians), a piece of sh*t to others (especially men), and have their movie filled with feminism tropes (the weird ‘k*ll all men’ so called feminism). They refuse to see that a female character can be feminine and vulnerable while also being a badass.
@@Jumpyman_thegamerYT the irony of the current "strong female character" is that if you genderswap them, you get characters that exhude toxic masculinity.
I kid you not, there is one episode of the animated show that has Susan saving the day by blocking a portal with her butt, and ends with Dr Cockroach saying “…thanks to Susan’s huge butt”. It’s the only moment that stuck with me regarding that entire weird show 😂 I do wish they would make a sequel, although I’m not sure how they would do it
The Don't Be Afraid of the Potty song BOB sings to the little child alien is one of the most amazing cinematic moments ever conceived. I honestly wish I was joking.
Honestly one of my favorite movies. I mean, it's not like deep or anything, I just enjoy rewatching it. Also the series based on it has one of the best Dodgeball episodes in cartoons, and as we all know the Dodgeball episode is the true measure of any western cartoon.
The movie is pretty deep when you think about it. Few other stories (especially for kids) portait themes like social acceptance, found family and self worth as overtly as this one. Yes, the plot is silly, but it's the main characters that bring depth to the movie.
@@MattTOB618 Yup, apparently on Paramount Plus and Prime Video nowadays. It only got a season or two, and it was all focused on a secret military base with W.R. While the director said that the Missing Link wasn't based on any specific monster, just a typical one from a jungle somewhere that get awoken and goes on a rampage, it does remind me of " The Creature From The Black Lagoon " 1954 And Susan, who grows to 49 feet 11inches, is inspired by "Attack Of The 50 foot Woman"1958.
The beam from the alien robot turned red after examining Ginormica signifies that it detected the quantonium in her, which was the mission of the robot.
This film is basically a family friendly version of the 1968 Godzilla film Destroy All Monsters, only this film pays homage to all kinds of monster films from Godzilla, Mothra, the blob, the fly, etc. there’s even a direct reference to it when the alien says “Destroy All Monsters”
I don't know why Monsters Vs. Aliens is not more popular. I loved it plus the short films B.O.B.'s Big Break and Night of the Living Carrots, the Halloween special Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space and the TV series.
Ok random fun fact. but in the Italian dub of the scene at 16:49 Susan says "Derek is a selfish bastard". I have NO IDEA how they managed to let things like this slide lmao 😭

Honestly, Angie, there has never been a year in my life where I've ever taken Christmas decorations down the day after Christmas. I do a personal two-week notice. However, considering I was a Goodwill employee, you'd be amazed at how many decorations, trees or toys we would receive as donations the day after Christmas though. It would be MADNESS where I worked. "I want toys, I want gifts, I need to make space for more. Oops, holidays are done. Get rid of what's not needed and continue the vicious, violent cycle."
Great video, just wondering whether you knew if there is a show of this just like Kung Fu panda, and if you'll ever be reacting to either of them on UA-cam one day?
Classic 80’s week! The Last Unicorn (1982) for animation or The Last Starfighter (1984) for some family adventure! (I don’t know why I picked two with last in the title, they just happen to be a couple of my favorites)
@@sunfurycommenting1013 if you love 80’s flavor with your family adventure movies, you owe it to yourself to put this film on your to do list😊 The Last Starfighter (1984) while not super big budget like Star Trek or Star Wars in the 80’s, they accomplished what they set out to achieve. Heart. The final two shots of the movie, in my opinion, are the best ending in cinematic history. Music is epic also. I think this is a perfect film from beginning to end.
Pretty sure the keyboard playing was a nod to the classic film Close Encounters of the Third Kind from 1977. I honestly don't remember anything of that movie other than there being the note playing cause I haven't seen it in so long.
This is my comfort movie, I don;t know how many times I've rewatched it. It's brilliant. Insectosaurus transforms into a giant moth not a butterfly - you can tell because of the shape of its antenna. #justSayin
"Close Encounters" + "Axel F" = This "Back To The Future" + "Adult Swim" = "Rick And Morty" "Hitchhiker's Guide" + "Rick And Morty" + *THIS* = "Show Me What You've Got" we should invent a new field of study: Internet Archaeology, to track the origin and development of pop culture references.
You should watch (or at least read articles about) the following movies: The Fly, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Blob, and Attack of the 50 ft. Woman. Nobody expects you to make reaction videos for each of them, as long as you're aware of the movie-monsters that were referenced here. They also parody Godzilla/Mothra, but we assume you know about them already lol.
OMG, this movie was my favorite when I was a kid. So glad that you create a reaction to this! Btw, I want you to react The Emoji Movie? I know a lot of people kinda hate that movie, but I think it's not that bad. Edit: OH, please react to The Lego Movie 2 too, you have reacted to the first one.
Each of the monsters is based on a classic movie monster. Susan is from Attack of the 50 foot woman, Bob is from The Blob, Insectosaurus is based on Mothra, fishboy is The Thing, and Dr. Cockroach is actually a parody of the doctor from The Fly.
Another great reaction. Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Beverly Hills Cop are two amazing movies you should watch sometime if you want to be fully familiar with the references in this film.
Great reaction! I saw this in theaters and I highly agree. So underrated! You should react to Mr. Peabody and Sherman! Another great Dreamworks animated movie that’s super underrated
See what so many don't realize is that this is actually a low key feminist movie, with her realizing she's capable of so much more than she thought possible. Get it? She OUTGREW Derek.
Definitely one of my top five favorite DreamWorks movies alongside Shrek, Puss in Boots 2, Madagascar 2 and Kung Fu Panda. Susan was one of my childhood crushes.
Classic Science Fiction movie: Close Encounters of the Third Kind will show you why the musical tones were thought of for making contact. And then rockin' out to Harold Faltemeier.

16:41 Exactly what's the point is saving people if they gonna hate us in spite of everything we do for them😢😢😢😢😢😢
Classic 80’s week! The Last Unicorn (1982) for animation or The Last Starfighter (1984) for some family adventure! (I don’t know why I picked two with last in the title, they just happen to be a couple of my favorites)
Solid choices, actually.
I haven't seen many reactions to The Last Unicorn, so I would definitely support the choice! I haven't seen the other one though
@@billfrantz1638 It's on the to do list! Thanks for the recommendation 👍
@@sunfurycommenting1013 thank you for replying, made my day. If you want, let me know your honest opinion. 👍
#justSayin
You should make a commentary on the avatar it would be so great!
8:26 there are few better themes than the Axel Foley theme from Beverly Hills Cop
"Close Encounters" + "Axel F" = This
"Back To The Future" + "Adult Swim" = "Rick And Morty"
"Hitchhiker's Guide" + "Rick And Morty" + *THIS* = "Show Me What You've Got"
we should invent a new field of study: Internet Archaeology, to track the origin and development of pop culture references.
I love your energy! 😊💙
She didnt obviously saw Close Encounters of the Third Kind. sigh
Female version of Wilhelm scream was so funny.😂
Another great reaction. Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Beverly Hills Cop are two amazing movies you should watch sometime if you want to be fully familiar with the references in this film.
You should watch the animated Dreamworks movie Home (2015)!
Loved this reaction as always :)
Great reaction! I saw this in theaters and I highly agree. So underrated!
You should react to Mr. Peabody and Sherman! Another great Dreamworks animated movie that’s super underrated
Hi Ange. Your reactions are always so much fun. 😂😂
WERE KILLIN GALLAXAR WITH THIS ONE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Loved this as a kid, the video game was fun too :o
See what so many don't realize is that this is actually a low key feminist movie, with her realizing she's capable of so much more than she thought possible.
Get it? She OUTGREW Derek.
Just realized after more than a decade the general said his name is W R Monger
War Monger?😫😫🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Btw, the President playing a keyboard is both a nod to the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and then Beverly Hills Cop.
Ahhh, loved this movie.
Your reactions were awesome. You did forget to react to one last part of the movie. The movie had a end credit scene
i didn't know people actually decorate their houses for the holidays
you are my favorite UA-camr 🥰
2:30 There’s been a slight change of plans, we’re not going to Paris.
Both: "WHAT"
Definitely one of my top five favorite DreamWorks movies alongside Shrek, Puss in Boots 2, Madagascar 2 and Kung Fu Panda. Susan was one of my childhood crushes.
Me to myself : aren’t weights heavier under water 😂
I haven’t watched this in such a long time
Yes Monsters VB Allien is underrated Haven't seen in a long time eaither;
As a Fresnan, that early scene was a personal attack that had my family and I completely dead when we first watched XD
Classic Science Fiction movie: Close Encounters of the Third Kind will show you why the musical tones were thought of for making contact. And then rockin' out to Harold Faltemeier.
Happy New Year
"Just call me Avril Lavigne" had me DYING (we love a good early 2000s)
