This is an excellent video. Steps are clearly explained and illustrated. Thank you😊
You took the mystery out of it. My Grohe faucet model is different, but I think I have enough information to tackle the job. Thanks a lot!
Super helpful, simple and straight to the point. Thank you!
Thank you. This video saved me about an hour of work!!
I'm writing from Denmark. We have a similar faucet with a different spout. Nonetheless, your troubleshooting was spot on. I appreciate how you were given a problem with a solution but offered a second possibility. You went on to explain how one could test that theory easily and quickly. Thank you for that. It comes from years of experience that can't be taught. Those are the tid bits that are gold. Big thanks from across the pond.
Hello Denmark! This is great to hear Francine. I'm so happy that we could help. Thanks for watching and I hope I can help again.
I have a grohe faucet with a different cartridge...thank you watching you vid gives me encouragement.
You can do it! It might not be exact, but should not be too different.
OMG. When I finally got the handle off which was tough(vinegar helped), the nut to tighten down the cartridge was loose so I just tightened it and put it back together. So glad I watched the video. I have a cartridge now to use in the future from Grohe Faucet is 3 years old. Thanks again!
So glad this helped you out. Thank you for watching and I hope we can help again
Thank you! This is exactly what we needed. Exact same issue, and now its resolved!
It is a weird thing to have happened, but I love that it is helping people. I hope a can help again.
Troubleshooting extraordinaire... I could do it based on my background, but Tim the Toolman Taylor would either flood the place, lose the parts, or modify it to dispense an adult beverage. 🤣😂 Rock on brother.
LOL! indeed!
@@ThatFixItGuy Remind people what goes into a drain/garbage disposal or what not goes in... chemicals to unclog, etc.
I will add it to my list. Thank you. That is great info.
Thanks had no idea it was that simple to take apart 👍
All but that handle! It is wild how much pull it takes to get that off. Thanks for watching
Thank you That Fix It Guy! mission accompished!
This was awesome. Gave me somewhere to start.
Thanks for the tips. Not a Dolphins fan, Love it!!! 😂
Glad you enjoyed the video. LOL GO PACK GO!
Nice find, do you have any plans for a maintenance video on a dual handle faucet that takes cartridges?
Yes, I do for sure. Thanks for watching!
where can i purchase the replacement o-ring(s) that go around the body? i believe my faucet is also a eurodisc.
Hard to get off is an understatement if it's been leaking for a while and you are in an area that has really hard water. Any more tips if it really does not move? I got mine currently sitting in the sink, upside down, in a bath of vinegar. Going to try again in about an hour or two.
How did it go? You may want to try PB Blaster if vinegar does not help.
@@ThatFixItGuy Had it soak for about 2 hours, and came off after some manhandling. Turns out it was also just the screw inside that was very loose. It is fixed now, your guide helped out quite a bit.
mine is leaking at the base but I am not able to lift the facet off due to the spray hose. Do I need to disconnect the hose below or at the spray head or not at all, just force it?
Yes you need to disconnect it first. Hope this helps.
This is great. My challenge is that my Grohe faucet seems to be locked up and the handle is not pivoting freely from the base, and now the base is moving on the countertop. Any ideas? Thanks!
Any luck on this? Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I would tighten the faucet to the counter first then you may have to pull it apart and grease it up a bit. Could be scale building up.
@@ThatFixItGuy Thanks for replying. I am not sure how to do that. It seems there are various ways to tighten Grohe faucets. And I am not even sure how to open it up to grease it. Do I pop off the top with a screwdriver? I can't find anywhere where I would use an allen wrench.
You are right there are many different ways with grohe products. If you want you can email me some pics or hit me up on Facebook. I’m happy to try and help.
I had to replace the hose 4 times over 10 years. It busts and leaked everytime. We no longer pull the handle out anymore after it leaked the 2nd time.
That is a bummer! I’m surprised Grohe did not just give you a new faucet. Sorry to hear that!
Can't get the handle off at all. Wonder if the water leakage caused it to seize up. We have hard water here?
I would try some CLR or something. Like that that gets calcium off. Spray that and let it set for a while.
How FRUSTRATING!! I can't get the set screw loosened!!! Sprayed with WD-40 ... 😕
Did you get it. Maybe try PB Blaster instead of WD 40. they can suck sometimes.
@@ThatFixItGuy Sorry I missed this 3 mos ago! I will try PB Blaster. In the meantime, I just kept twisting the handle and base to tighten. It was hit and miss, but I was finally able to tighten enough to stop the leak.
Why do I get the feeling you just had to show off your knife
😁 who does not like a good knife.
