    Hi everyone, I'm new to OH but have been solving with Roux for about a year now. I'm using the new YS3M UV-Ball Core which was great.. UNTIL I tried M moves, LOL.. it's REALLY hard at first just because you're not use to it.. BUT Kian is right about gripping slightly higher and strengthening the finger pinky finger with practice.. HOWEVER, I would also add from my experience that the directional force used is VERY important (I naturally wanted to flick down toward the table and push the L layer down but this just makes it harder to turn the M slice - for left handed, flick away from you to the left and a bit up instead, basically the direction of the M slice itself.. it's so much easier and requires less force) as well as proper cube setup (using looser tensions and faster lube in my case).
    Also, in the case of the YS3M, I highly RECOMMEND the "tension cap mod" which made the M moves SOO much easier!!! The rest is just practice, practice, practice! Happy Cubing Everyone!

    I solve with right hand

      That's great! Which hand you use doesn't really make much of a difference. If you want to follow along with my videos, try mirroring everything I do. If that isn't working, go watch some of GuRoux's videos. He also uses roux, is faster than me at OH, and uses right hand.

    Personally for the dots case I prefer U2 M2 U2 M' U2 M2 U2 M' because of how slow and painful the E2 can be, especially for OH.

      oh yes, why use a 4 move alg when u can do the same in 7-8 moves.(at least in 2h, i think the e2 alg should be faster or if a person wanna be funk, they can do S2)

    Kian, I know you've said you OH cube before, but I can't find it. I even checked your website. My cube requires a bit of extra muscle to do OH, and it gets crampy

    I'm having trouble doing clockwise M moves with my pinky, as it naturally wants to hit the R layer and either gets caught on it or moves it. Any tips?

      Tilt the cube in your hand more; grip with your left thumb a bit more vertical on the FL edge

    do you press hard against the table when doing M moves? I have a really hard time doinng those whitout pressing very hard... :/

    • @Kian_Mansour
      @Kian_Mansour  7 років тому +6

      Not really, the table just holds it there. The problem might be that your fingers aren't strong enough yet, or that your cube is just too tight/slow.

      I have problems with that too. My cube is way too slow and i don't have proper lube. And it pops if it's too loose.

    Does anybody do S moves? As in not S' but clockwise S? (Left hand assumed)

    My pinky finger is too short to do R'. What should I do?

    • @Kian_Mansour
      @Kian_Mansour  Рік тому

      Tilt the cube to more of a diagonal angle so your pinky is closer to the FDR corner
