If I’ve said it once, I must have said it at least twice (counting this time): A person just can’t have too many Kaiser’s yacht stamps.

Yes, I believe I have heard that somewhere. 😄

Some pretty nice purchases. The 1 Gulden Danzig...yeah, I wouldn´t have bought it because of the perforation imperfection. The spot on the other stamp can be bleached with what we call "Hascherpur". Good news from Houston, I think it shouldn´t be a problem to get a visa for Portugal. And when you are within the EU, you might also change to other countries like Germany without any problems. Just my 2 cents. Greets from GER, U.

You’re right. We are interested in Germany mainly for the family connection. But Portugal is actually a much more practical choice for us. We’ll still be able to travel to other places.

Hi Ted, another great video. The Kaiseryacht SMS Hohenzollern series are also my favorite German empire stamps - having spend my childhood in Hamburg, west Germany in the late 1960s to early 1970s, these stamps were so so attractive but far out of reach for a kid. Now, I’m getting old enough to spend some extra pocket money for stamps and trying to fulfill my youth dream. I still have some holes in my collection- the really high CV ones - but watching the Kaiseryacht stamps always reminds me of the gold old days I’ve spent in Hamburg. Looking forward to another episode. Take care !

We were in Hamburg last year and loved the city. We had considered going there before we came to Portugal, but circumstances conspired against us. I want to visit again one day. Thanks for watching.

Every viewer please spread words around to young generation to your relatives, friends on what is Philately, the dieing hobby.
My son and daughter have been injected philately, the recent visits to relatives and some friends are motivated. So atleast my son is involved. Agencies need to invest money on media publicity too and hold regular exhibitions through philately societies.

Thanks for another great video! Lessons learned, loud and clear. I tend to do purchases pretty quickly, and don't always study each stamp in the purchase's image. Now will also look out for over cleared scanning of the stamps. Beautiful stamps. I LOVE the African stamps, but especially those from the German colonies with the magnificent ship images.

I am happy for your visa. Regarding the Canadian stamp that a hinge has distorted its surface, by making a mask out of paper or thin cardboard with a hole the size of the hinge, it might be possible to reform it by applying pressure with books. Ha a good day Ted.

Nice choices, Ted. Maybe you could tell us where did you purchase them (not neccesarily where you bought each one, but he places or webs you use to buy stamps) That could help us in knowing other possibilities... Congrats for the video, it sounds fantastic ;)

Hi Vicente. I will o that in the future. I buy 99% of my stamps off of HipStamp. I rarely go to ebay because there is so much overlap between the 2 sites (dealers selling on both sites) that I waste a lot of time searching ebay only to see the same stamps I already saw on HipStamp. I only search ebay now, when I simply can't find that stamp on Hipstamp.

I bought a few counterfeits in my day. But until recently I didn't know it was a thing. It even says in Scotts that counterfeits exist. oops

Yeah, fakes, counterfeits, forgeries -- they are a veritable plague on this hobby, especially in classic material. You just have to walk softly and carry a big BS detector.

Mistakes are normal, I made a lot. Nothing to worry about, this is part of stamp collecting.
I liked the Bavarian ones, especially the two 3 Kreuzer stamps. They are in a very good condition and have nice cancellations. Same for the 3 Kreuzer with the Munich cancellation and the 7 Kreuzer from Traunstein. This is a nice city not far away from Chiemsee. The Kaiseryacht stamps are also pretty, the 3 Mark stamps looking very nice. For Deutsche Post Türkei the cancelled is not a mistake, it is in good conditition with a good cancellation. I did not like the Danzig stamp too much, I would send it back to refund it. Same for the 20 Pfennig stamp. The pic is far away from OK what he sent to you. Overall your buys are nice.

Thanks for your comments Oliver. I have messaged the dealer that I wish to return a stamp, but he has not replied. I guess I will have to send a reminder.

Hi Ted, as a novice collector of anything Ottoman/Turkiye, I've always been intrigued about foreign post offices in the Ottoman Empire, for example like the German issues you showed at the end. Would be great if you could shed some light on the whole concept of foreign postal issues in host countries. Yet another great video! Thanks!
