I cut up and put the banana peels in to hot water and let it stand until the water cools. How long can I store this and should I keep it in the refrigerator until I'm ready to use it? Thank you
Thank you! I get the best tips from your channel. So here's a tip in return: I noticed you have eggshell pieces in your planter. Eggshells take a long time (years) to break down and release their calcium. If you turn them into biochar, the chemicals are released immediately though. You don't need a big biochar burn barrel, you can put two cans together (by crimping the open end of one can and wedging it into the open end of the other), poke a hole in the bottom of one of the cans, to let the gasses escape, and throw it in your stove till no more gas comes out. (You probably know about biochar already, but it works really well with eggshells.)
Thanks for the tip. I know about biochar but haven't used egg shell biochar before. I'll give it a shot. However the actual reason I was using just the broken egg shell was as mulch and also to deter snails.
I have seen a lot of channels but this is one of the best, so I had to subscribe. I love the way to talk through the video... Other videos I have seen they just stay mute... Love the videos
I suspect that bananas you buy at the supermarket have being threated with pesticides, likely to contain other stuff on the peels. There are videos of people making a similar fertilizer from fermented grasses. I suggest looking into that too.
Thanks, I'll give it a try. However, if you're concerned with pesticides on banana, washing them thoroughly under running water might help to some extent and the residue won't be a big problem when peels are used as fertilizer.

Hello Sir, please can I use this for onion
You can use it when it starts bulbing but you have to use a nitrogen rich fertilizer initially.
