Joseph Jones I realize this is old but in case anyone else reads, just work your way up from the bottom. If you don't know much, just get your foot in the door by offering to clean up and run equipment and tools to the installers for minimum wage. In the meantime study up on the basics. Ohms law, understanding impedance, crossover design, and don't be afraid to get your hands dirty. Any good installer will hire someone who is eager to learn and is passionate about it.

Big fan of SMD, but you’re avoiding the fact that not many ppl have the money as a DIY’er to drop $150-475 for one or all of those “tools” oh and the whole “um”, “ahhhh” and extended vowels REALLY INSTILLS CONFIDENCE! Find someone who can speak even Steve Meade.
