  • What a great honor to have been able to film the life celebration of a great lieutenant. He was a great uncle, grandfather, father, and husband.
"From 1962 to 1963, Vang was sent to school where he learned the Lao language. In 1966, Nhia Cha found himself being recruited by the United States’ Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to become a soldier in the Special Guerilla Unit, 228th A Battalion, Company 3, 2nd Platoon. As a young teenage boy at the age of 15, he was given the identification number 21949 and underwent military training in Long Cheng Lima Site (LS) 20A, a military base that served as a town and airbase, operated by the CIA.
From 1966 to 1975, Nhia Cha actively fought in the Vietnam War. Having been wounded after an ambush in the jungle, where he was shot multiple times and sustained permanent injuries, he was presented the Purple Heart medal."
May you rest in peace Lt. Nhia Cha P. Vang. Thank you for your service.
