Great video, Joe. Glad to see you back. I had the chance to meet David about a year and a half ago. I got to chat with him pretty extensively, and see some of his knife collection. I really like his thought processes when it comes to designing knives.
David and I have a meetup set at Blade Show this year and I looking forward to it. It is obvious from looking at his designs that he knows his knives. Thanks Caleb!
While I really dig this design and highly recommend it, I will always encourage folks to turn a design they have in their head into a reality. It is such a great learning experience and in the end the knife is special to the owner. I say go for it!
Well, I was going to cut out some balsa wood templates to check the theories I have about ergos and geometry, but making a knife probably isn't on the agenda in the short term. Thanks for the encouragement though!
Great review. I think that I just bought the last Canteen Knife in stock. I'm quite smug with myself right now. It's going to ride on my belt in scout style every day once I get a proper scout/crossdraw rig. I've been looking for a knife to replace the ESEE 6 for daily "stuff". Thanks Joe!
Woohoo Joe is back. Good to see you buddy. As always love the content and hope you and the family are doing well. Take care and can't wait to see more videos from you in the future.
Well it’s about damn time you showed you face again! Awesome review as always Joe. I’ve handled that knife and I have to agree that it is pretty dang awesome. I’m hoping to shoot my overdue video on the Pilgrim sometime this week. Between Dave’s designs and LTs execution, I think Nordsmith will be here to stay.
Thanks Mike! The Pilgrim looks fantastic, I look forward to your thoughts on it my friend. And I agree 100% The collab between Dave and LT and crew is definitely a solid match up.
For me, the cooking was interesting. I've never heard of that soup for sickness. I will have to try. As for the higher end knives, not something I will ever see in my stash. Glad to see you back out Joe.
Welcome back, missed yer vids brother! First review I’ve seen on this knife and I’m sold. I have the nordsmith pilgrim and it is my favorite handle to date and top 3 knives I own, you should give it a try as well. Thanks, Jesse
Looks great, seems like it is well designed and made. I knew as soon as you said LT Wright that it would be more expensive than my budget allows, and at $290, it is about twice my maximum amount I would pay for any knife. That being said, OVERALL, thanks for the video and review, and glad to see you back on the 'tube.
I have recently purchased this knife and have to say it is my favorite knife for hiking, backpacking and in the camp. Although, the stock sheath is nice, I had to have my leather guy make me my own design.
nice vid thanks i'am on stand by to received mine.... got a question out of subject.... what is the long spoon/fork kind of are you using to eat in this video... the red one's ? Thks
great to see you..........Joe we dont come for the knife review, we are here for the cooking, we all have knives and that does look great........take care
Have you ever tried using a terava jaakaripukko knife from Finland the 110 4.1 inch blade or the 140mm puukko 5.5,both are 80crv2 carbon steel or you can get them in stainless steel too, both scandi grind, tough tip drop point style, super tough knives an can throw sparks from the spine, reasonable cheap too.
He lives!! lol That's one heck of a sweet looking knife brother. I like it. Nice to see a video from you.. I almost didn't believe my eyes. Thanks for the video.. soup cooked good too.
Back to your old tricks. Good knife skills, great fire starting and a yummy lunch. I have never cooked with star anise and now I’m anxious to try it. Loved the video!
I doubt it will be. Life has normalized. It is a new normal but it is steady. I'll explain whats happened soon. It is definitely a good thing though. Thanks David!
Say. Heah Joe, Yeah'suree, 2017 was a good year for our Messmuk's, I also got a great one, I went with a Adventure Sworn Guide, mine is also a 5 1/2" blade, and made in 3V. I got White G-10 with Black Micarta Liners. Mine is also a vexed Saber Grind. Infact I team it with my 2Hawks Double Bit Hatchet. I also like adding my Wicked Tough Saw and my Leatherman Charge TTi to complete this set, Oh, I also like using my Kodiak Gearsling to carry the rest of my C's, I did post pictures on my Google Plus. Dilly Dilly, Oh, were you gone.,,.p
lol that was a subtle joke. Have you ever noticed that when someone posts online about a problem with their knife, 9 times out of 10 it starts with "I loaned my favorite knife to my friend and he....".
Welcome back, Joe. Happy to hear you like the knife!
Thanks guys!
Good to see you pop up in my feed. Hope all is well.
Thank you Sir, good to see you as well!!

Thanks man, I have a camp knife design in my head that I have been searching for and this one come very close, good to see another option.
While I really dig this design and highly recommend it, I will always encourage folks to turn a design they have in their head into a reality. It is such a great learning experience and in the end the knife is special to the owner. I say go for it!

How is the knife so long?

It's soooo cold in my woods. I am envious. I like LT and that knife looks nice! I think we have the same wood gas stove.Thumbs up!

For me, the cooking was interesting. I've never heard of that soup for sickness. I will have to try. As for the higher end knives, not something I will ever see in my stash. Glad to see you back out Joe.
Thanks Chris. You never know, most review channels give away higher end knives from time to time. There will be one here very soon from Blackfeather.
Welcome back, missed yer vids brother! First review I’ve seen on this knife and I’m sold. I have the nordsmith pilgrim and it is my favorite handle to date and top 3 knives I own, you should give it a try as well.

Attractive knife and good rythm with the editing. Good job, thanks!
I have recently purchased this knife and have to say it is my favorite knife for hiking, backpacking and in the camp. Although, the stock sheath is nice, I had to have my leather guy make me my own design.
I'd love to see the sheath some time. Thanks David!
Yes, definitely, let's see what sheath you came up with!
Love to post some pics... not sure how?

Easy enough to do. I'll work it in at some point. Thanks
Back to your old tricks. Good knife skills, great fire starting and a yummy lunch. I have never cooked with star anise and now I’m anxious to try it. Loved the video!

Missed you Bud! Hope the next video isn't as long coming.

Paraphrasing Kephart: Give a friend your last dollar, but never loan anyone your cutting tools.
lol that was a subtle joke. Have you ever noticed that when someone posts online about a problem with their knife, 9 times out of 10 it starts with "I loaned my favorite knife to my friend and he....".
Looks and sounds like a great knife Joe thanks for the review !
atb john

Ahhh! Brah! Not Fiberglass batts!? Im sure it can and you proved it... but.... NO!
Hahaha! I know I know. It was more a test of the AEB-L then anything else. It held up great but did needs some TLC on the strop after.
This knife is on my wish list. Thanks for the video.
$300.00 dollar knife....
Way too expensive for a knife!
Value is in the eye of the beholder for sure. Thanks!
I doubt any knife is worth $300. Of course, you have to rave about it or the wife would kill you. LOL
I am hoping it's worth every penny.....just purchased one!
Way too stupid to take seriously!
Enjoy your chinesium bear grylls special.
