Van life in Norway continues this week, but there's one thing that's forcing us to change our plans!
Norway is definitely one of the best countries in Europe that we have travelled to in the van so far, we've been on some amazing hikes, seen some awesome waterfalls and really got out and about in nature, so, it was time for a bit of city van life with a trip to Bergen!
Bergen is Norways second largest city and sits on the west coast, with its colourful wooden buildings it really is rather pretty (and just a little bit wet!)
We also get into the Norwegian spirit with a visit to Viking Valley, an open air replica of a traditional viking village.
We are thoroughly enjoying our time on the west coast, but there's something that's really slowing us down.. what would you do?

I know we don't see completely everything. But the love you two share makes some one like me, who is terrified of relationships...not so scared of them. You can tell both of your hearts are in it completely and you can see the respect and silliness you guys share. It's amazing.
Louise if you had listened when you went on the van life survival school, you would have remembered that crisps, chocolate and ice cream are survival essentials. On no occasion should you travel any distance without either a copious stock or access to any of these life savers. A sensational , lol , video again. thanks .

Take a look at itchy boots, she’s a motorcycle traveller going around the world, she’s currently going from South America through Mexico up to Alaska, she’s named the bike Alaska as that’s the end stop. I love seeing Summer outside in your videos and Emily's snacking. Emily has inspired me to have a snack cupboard and it's well used! You certainly do find some superb park ups with great scenery. Norway's most dramatic scenery is supposed to be inland so can't wait to see where you go.

Nope. Norways most dramatic scenery is generally considered to be the fjords. Which are, naturally, by the coast. The inland areas are somewhat higher up in places but generally much flatter. People expecting Switzerland style mountains or whatever will be very dissapointed!

Bit of a fact for you, Normandy is named so because it was settled by the vikings who were known as Norse men, I find it fascinating how much they influenced large parts of Europe and I'm loving your Norway travels. Oh yeah, the Norse gods influence the days of the weeks, Wednesday is Odin day, Friday is freya day etc they still heavy influence it today and there are so many people who embrace the Viking heritage it’s amazing
@@campervibe Generally its mostly neo-nazies who are into all that norse stuff. Be very aware of what you get yourself into if you go down that path, lol. Most Norwegians dont think about their "viking heritage" what so ever. :)

If the ice cream was taken back and put in a freezer, it would be a snack. If it's bought and eaten, its a treat. I would like to see this enshrined in law.

Geilo, Ål, Gol are very traditional norwegian landscapes with several old buildings and churches. Beitostølen is a winter heaven, used during the cross country cup. If you go that route Jotunheimen national park is a great place for walking. A bit to the east is Rondane another great national park. If you choose to go east instead of north to Beitostølen, you can go through another traditional valley with Gålå, Fåvang and Ringebu. Ringebu Stavkirke might be worth a visit. If you manage to get that far north Røros is a traditional miningtown on the UNESCO list. It's a well known destination. There is a lot to see east of the mountains as well, just as much as on the west coast, but the nature is more green valleys and high mountains with glaciers and old wooden buildings and traditional arts and crafts. If you want to see Lillehammer perhaps you should take a look at the lake Mjøsa, it's norways biggest inland lake. Good luck on your tour, and I hope you get more sunshine.
