Aww, I'm really pleased about the progress you're making. At least, having seen all your previous videos and knowing a bit about you from your messages, I feel that this video (and perhaps the one before that) are somehow more positive... I mean you're actually getting active to change something about your life: seeking advice from the professor, calling companies, going on interviews... is that something you would have done a couple of months or years ago? I hope that company calls you back (or maybe it already has) but even if it doesn't it's still a positive experience and you know what you have to do (adding some graphic designing thingies to your portfolio... not that I know anything about that). I know the dating problem thing isn't that positive but at least you're addressing it, and recognising the problem is always the first step, right? :)
You should be proud you were able to motivate yourself to that interview. I hope I can move myself to do the same when I graduate. If my anxiety persist the way it is now though, I doubt I will be able to.
Yeah, I'm glad I went even if I don't manage to hear back and that it was just an internship too. And if you believe you can graduate despite anxiety, you can also believe that you can go for interviews and such too. It took me 6 long years to graduate college, but somehow I managed even while meticulously dodging presentations left and right, lol, so it's good that you're getting through school yourself. I've been checking the want ads along with other places likes Craigslist for jobs as well and it's really just hit and miss right now but I'll eventually find something. I have a linked in, but never thought to develop my profile more, so maybe that would be a good idea too.
Also, in terms of experience, why not try to build your portfolio a bit before you continue pursuing positions. I don't know to much about graphic design but I know a bit about gathering clients for jobs. Check out want ads for designers. There are a lot of them. Designing is something people always need when starting any endeavor when business, community outreach etc. Create a LinkedIn profile as well, so those looking for a designer can get in contact with you. Depending on how settled you are, and if you are comfortable doing business over the internet, I will keep an eye out for anyone I know who needs a design.
you might wan't to try going to costa rica and staying at the hotel Del Ray for a few days ,I still struggle with anxiety but not so much around women anymore.good luck man and hang in there
I'd love to visit Costa Rica someday, but as fun a time alot of people seem to have there, a hotel like that really isn't for me personally but hey, thanks for the suggest anyway and that's awesome you got over your anxiety around women. I can't wait to get to that level myself.
Everything seems to be more business oriented. If you really want to work in the creative art field (as opposed to business), I would suggest finishing the manga and submitting it to some publishing company. I know; stating the obvious, right? I definitely share your problem with talking to women. I'm sure I could do it if I just knew what to say.
Yeah... And I really have to get back to that manga since it's been months since I sat down to work on it. I'm still gonna keep fishing for more jobs in my field and just see who bites. And the thing with talking to women is that we actually do have things to say because we're always thinking. It's just a matter of getting those thoughts out and formed into words that's the issue.
Do you still have the same job as a night security guard in that building? Also, be wary of girl advice you get on this video. Most people who watch this probably have SA and are in no place to advise you. Others who don't have SA won't be able to truly understand.
Yep, still there which is one of the reasons why I'm trying to move on to something else that is actually in the field I'm interested in. And yeah, I know some probably don't have much advice for girls which is fine and understandable, but it'd also be interesting to hear from those who have had some success in flirting or relationships despite the anxiety.
you're definitely making progress.
