Well done, this was a nice video 🙂 I’m just wondering if you check your inventory often because it stuns me a bit when you start the battle right away. There were only a few rare times that I didn’t realize I had weak/almost-broken weapons and didn’t have better ones in my convoy, but what I didn’t think of later on is reviewing your units’ abilities and combat arts. One example is setting combat arts that are powerful against monsters or flying enemies, or maybe set a skill that makes some weapon stronger so the unit improves in that weapon (so then they can get a certain class) But keep up with the good work overall! 🙂
The Blue Lions route basically confirms that Monica/Tomas (alongside other characters) were actually killed and the enemies had shapeshifters into them

Around 25:11 where you were asking why don't units just spam arrows or just do more with there turns I think is because the time that makes up a turn of combat is only a few seconds like in d&d (at least to me that's my headcanon)
With this chapter, Byleth got a gameplay upgrade. Byleths personal skill, in addition to the exp bonus to byleth and adjacent allies that already was part of it, now also gives byleth +2 damage dealt. Edit: the sword of the creator also got a stat upgrade. might went from 7 to 15, it got lighter by 2 so you keep more attack speed, it GOT CRIT RATE of 10% in addition to the normal crit rate you do have from your stats and like you noticed, the combat art upgraded too the combat art now does more damage and has more crit rate then before. in short byleth got just alotta upgrades

Loved seeing your reaction to Byleth fusing with Sothis. Also, Freikugel looks similar to the weapon Byleth used in smash, but that’s a different one. The one Byleth uses in smash is called Aymr.

Im glad to see that your weapons look so good. and while i figure you already have it under control, Skills and Combat Arts only have limited slots but you can learn, in theory, all that exist. So its worth checking from time to time if there has been a skill or a combat art sleeping in storage thats actually good.. Like i think you can only equip 5 skills at a time. (weapon prowerss skills replace themselves with the best version automatically.)

It's a weird missed opportunity to not have the students fight without Byleth there, but at the same time, Byleth and the player are the same, who would be giving orders? Maybe they could have had a turn of all the students as green ally units moving by themselves until your return, idk. You can feel the walls they built for the story and gameplay hemming in this chapter. Because the story revolves around byleth, it follows that byleth must immediately return. Cool powerful evil spell lacks buildup or forshadowing, but why spend time building up what is immediately undone? Does it sound like I'm being very critical of the story beats for the last couple chapters? Yes, i am, because its a huge road bump that tries to bridge dramatic anime reveals with SRPG and social sim gameplay with some bizarre results, and rewatching it makes me critical of how it plays out compared to earlier in the game where the gameplay and story don't run headlong at each other.
i really enjoyed this chapter, and no i do not feel like u are being overly critical because at the end of the day u are just a big fan of the game which means u care, looking at it from your perspective I can see why your upset, you have trainined more than capable students only for it to seem completely hopeless when byleth is sealed in the darkness, only for bro to come back in the same chapter giving instant gratification to the players and like u said runing suspense or tbh any real stakes for this battle and future ones, so yea tho this didn’t bother me and i really enjoyed it as a casual, for someone who is a big fan i can see why it’s disappointing
