    I didn’t realize until you pointed it out that the others only destroyed small insignificant art and when it required them to *actually* disrupt things they backed off. Too good

    The thing about the glass smashing scene that really got to me was that none of the smashes triggered the Mona Lisa's glass defenses, but they would comedically flip up with every phone notification. Bron's weakness was never the destruction of his wealth, but threats against his reputation. That's why he killed Dave Bautista (can't remember the character's name now), because the email notification/napkin was the one tangible threat to his reputation, and those notifications were the one thing to throw up his defenses. Anyway love you very much, this is good shit, excited for more

      Are you sure that the glass didn't shut as soon as he burned the napkin, and it stayed closed because no one had pressed the override button until Helen presses it to burn the Mona Lisa?

    • @lyricbot8513
      @lyricbot8513 Рік тому +2

      @@andrewdunn8778 yes, it was flipping up and then going back down when the phones were pinging before that

    • @andrewdunn8778

      @@lyricbot8513 But that's the early in the movie, when Miles presses the override button to demonstrate how it works. The override button makes it repeatedly go back down, but doesn't stop it from snapping back shut. I'm saying that, after the napkin was torched, the override button had not been pressed until Helen presses it right at the end, so it would have stayed closed.

    The fact that the others only agreed to align their stories at the end because they had no more to gain from Miles is just so realistic. As a social comment, it's an obvious punch in the stomach, really. What a video, keep up the good work! 👍

    The worst part about Glass Onion is in the Among Us scene they have the dead body reported noise play for no reason and then someone calls an emergency meeting. They could’ve just had someone report abody if they wanted the sound!

      If you were being ironic/sarcastic or something my bad but for those that recognize that, it's foreshadowing. You know... She gets shot, and so they all go inside. But she wasn't dead. So no actual body was reported, a meeting was called. Nice catch, I didn't see it myself

    • @adeadarcadia
      @adeadarcadia Рік тому +2

      I'm late, but if it wasn't foreshadowing, that might've been because some of the people "playing" weren't actually playing sine they didn't know how. Even tho they could've just recorded someone else playing

  • @annabelcunningham2848
    @annabelcunningham2848 Рік тому +187

    4:00 another note is that Miles put in the feature to allow the painting to be destroyed and showed everyone. He set himself up for failure; Helen made sure the failure only ruined his material possessions and reputation rather than kill someone.

      also when the witnesses do "tell the truth" they are still lying, but now in support of what actually happened rather than Miles' perspective. Liars and cheats gonna lie and cheat, but I guess the lesson is make them have an incentive for the truth??

      Actually she didnt assure znyones safety and thats the one thing that bothered me. She had two people unaccounted for on the island and is smart enough to understand she really has no idea how big this explosion will be and know on some level it could take them all out. She's trusting a detective (who really hasnt done anything to earn this level of trust) to have hot encouraged her if he felt it was too dangerous. But he isnt a scientist. He doesnt know what all is in the mansion. That explosion could have taken out the whole island. The shrapnel could have killed them all.

  • @nkozi
    @nkozi Рік тому +16

    Awesome and succinct analysis. Also worth noting that the ending does 2 things: It reveals them to have been fully corrupted by their gained class positions and unwilling to compromise themselves in a true way, and it shows us, though Helen, that they can only be made to turn traitor to their position when all other collaborative options are removed from them. Very powerful stuff when you remember that none of the Disruptors came from wealth: They betrayed their class roots (represented in the grounding force of Andi), and were then forced to abandon their new position (by Helen)
