When I was a kid my grampa watched Carson every single night and his laugh reverberated through the walls. I’ll never forget his laugh. God bless you, Johnny ❤️ for making my precious grandfather laugh. I’m watching these clips to remind me of those nights.
Different time and place compared today, certain parties censor this type of behavior while attacking other parties that don't follow their ideologies.
Carson or many of the guests he had. Dean Martin, Robin Williams, George Gobel, Sammy Davis Jr, Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball, Bob Hope, etc. They're all gone
I am dead serious, you just can't help laughing right along with John at the incredibly fun expression on that most adorable baby orangutang's face, John Carson was not only priceless but matchless as well! You can see by all of those who have followed him! None of them even came close!
Here I am at 12 Midnight watching Johnny's Repeats 20-30 yrs later, 'instead of' watching what's On Rt Now... Colbert, Fallon and Kimmel! Boy Are YOU Missed to This day, Johnny! ♥️♥️♥️
Mia fio Believe it or not that clip was from 41 years ago, not 20 or 30yrs ago. I'm in the same boat as you, the "late" shows are playing right now...but I'm watching old Carson clips on UA-cam instead. Cheers.
Think I just found some new friends. I'm with you guys. The garbage on late night TV is sickening, it's not even entertainment or even slightly funny. Watching Johnny do the Great Carnac and calling Ed McMahon almighty Yak breath!! Classic!
I was fortunate enough to have seen this particular episode on the first time it was broadcast. I was married at the time....and I remember my husband and I laughing right along with Johnny. That little monkey was so darned cute. Johnny's been called the "King of Late Night TV"....and I entirely agree. There's been nobody quite like him before or since. Miss him lots.
You could have the worst day ever, where nothing goes right and you just want to end it all....but then it's 11:30pm and you turn on the tv and there was a show that could make all that day's troubles just fade away as if they never happened. I miss Johnny Carson for those reasons, there will never be another like him, and late night has never been as funny since.
My feelings exactly. I used to look forward to his show all day and never missed it because you always knew you were going to have some great laughs. I always say, "When Johnny Carson left, he took late night TV with him."
I'm too young to remember his show but I've discovered him here on UA-cam. The joy in his eyes while holding the orangutans is priceless and so so genuine. I can't wait to continue watching videos of him.
I don't remember anyone thinking Johnny Carson was a genius when he was on the air. He was just there, the guy who came on after everyone else. But it turns out he must have been, because no one has come close to matching him.
We knew he was a genius back then. That’s why he was called the King of Late Night even then. His longevity with the show was a testament unto itself. Yep you’re right - Johnny Carson was an integral part of our lives!
Johnny was a genius I remember sneaking in my brothers bedroom putting a blanket over the TV to watch Johnny and getting caught because my laughter 😂😂 was loud....
I'm in Australia and we didn't have Carson on tv here. But i've watched many episodes of the show on youtube over the last couple of years and fallen in love with this show! I like 80s Letterman, too, but Johnny was very likeable and had better guests
And the orangutan then does a *second* Benny stare of turning his head and rolling the eyes exactly the same way. The fact that Johnny idolized Jack so much could only make him really see the hilarity in that.
I used to love 💕 to watch the tonight show especially when they had the animals on! The animals were funny with Johnny when he held them or try to hold them or touch them! 😂🐵🐯🐨 I miss the the show very much! 😀
there are and have been many fine late night talk show hosts but there are 2 in my mind that will never be surpassed Jack Parr and Johnny Carson ...thankfully we now have UA-cam and can appreciate and enjoy them years later
It's great to have all of these up on UA-cam. I will always love seeing Johnny Carson and the wonderful things he did on his show. A lot of them I remember seeing again when they were shown the first time on TV.
I was actually at that show in 1977 .. That show was taped at 4:00 p.m. in McMahon was already 3 sheets... I believe ed McMahon and Jonny Carson both gave me autographs after the show there was up backstage meeting meet up and Carson was drinking I believe it was vodka trying to catch up with McMahon who is extremely intoxicated but very nice to me
Carson loved " the blow " too that kept him sharp ! Buddy Rich, " Doc " ( who is STILL with us born on 7/7/27 ! What a life he's packed in 91 years ! ( Ed just was a drinker that's why he got a bit " sloppy " , that's what made it funny !!
What a team. Ed acting like overly precise Straight Man , gives Johnny a chance to get the audience laughing! --- McMahon was involved in many reconnaissance missions and flew a total of 85 combat missions. For his effort, he earned six air medals. Ed McMahon retired from the Marines in 1966 with the rank of colonel.
This illustrates how different the times were and how cool Johnny could be. Johnny's sidekick, Ed McMahon, is clearly liquored, and gets defensive when Johnny calls him on it.
Don't mean to sound depressing but I'd rather watch (and I Do!), All of Johnny's Repeats Every nite on Antenna TV, than to watch Any Of the late nite hosts, or their guests, who R Alive today! RIP Johnny..
I loved when he'd have Jim Fowler on, Marlin Perkins' much younger sidekick from the old Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom show. Johnny would parody Marlin with something like "While Jim is stalking the ferocious lion across the savanna, I'm back at base camp mixing margaritas"
I used watch Johnny Carson with these animals and he was so funny around these animals. Just watch him with these animals it is worth the time to watch and relax if you are not laughing.
God, I miss Johnnies show so much. The show wasn't geared toward pissing off half the country, he didn't shed tears every time he talked,(Kimmell), and he kept the country in stiches.
When I was a kid my grampa watched Carson every single night and his laugh reverberated through the walls. I’ll never forget his laugh. God bless you, Johnny ❤️ for making my precious grandfather laugh. I’m watching these clips to remind me of those nights.
how dare u
Man I wish i could go back in time
If Johnny Carson was immortal and still hosting the Tonight Show I'd never miss a single episode.
This was when the late show was entertaining! I miss Johnny Carson. ❤️
I'll always remember the way the baby looked into Johnny's eyes, and his surprise and happiness at connecting that way with an animal.
Without a doubt, Johnny Carson was the best late night host that ever was or will be. Just great.
Amen. Truth💯😊🙏🏽😢🤣
He said it all and allowed it all to happen
Different time and place compared today, certain parties censor this type of behavior while attacking other parties that don't follow their ideologies.
Conan o'brien
There will never again be anyone like Johnny Carson. So funny

I love Johnny's laugh when he was holding the baby orangutan
Carson. Damn I miss that man. Every damn night was a future classic. Carnac The Magnificent had me in stitches as a youngster.
I've watched this several times. Loved Johnny and this'was awesome

Carson was and always will be the best.
I used to love to see Johnny interact with animals I really think he liked them .
Johnny liked them but Conan loves animals. That is among the most endearing aspects of him.
The best show, the funniest show. I miss him too.
I was fortunate enough to have seen this particular episode on the first time it was broadcast. I was married at the time....and I remember my husband and I laughing right along with Johnny. Ed was truly on the sauce in that last clip 😂😂😂🥃
As Jonathan Winters said "Juiced to the gills."
Memories.....I snuck out of bed to watch when I was young and always fell asleep in the hallway.
The great Johnny Carson. Brilliant. Irreplaceable.
We lost a lot when we lost Johnny.

The Tonight Show ceased being The Tonight Show when Johnny Carson retired.
When Johnny Carson came to David Letterman's show in 1994,the audience went crazy! Got a standing ovation, too.
Carolyn Harper jjjkk

Actual late show entertainment. JOHNNY WAS THE BEST. NOBODY ELSE COMES CLOSE. MAGA2020.
Wow, a second banana rebellion. All kidding aside, I had
met Ed about 16 years ago. He was a real gentleman, and
a heck of a nice guy. May he R.I.P.
Dude I’m 22 and just started watching these Carson clips... he was fucking hilarious!

I loved seeing Johnnie with animal guests. They were always funny.

The baby orangutan is Jack Benny reincarnated!
That's classic !! LMAO !
I can think of someone else but better not say 😇
Johnny said that's why he cracked up, because it reminded him so much of his old friend, Jack Benny
@@grossleg123 don't be a racist asshole Trumpite!
@Frank fuckwad.
These were the innocent years.🎥🎬🍸😎
The best era of TV. Classic!
Johnny doubles over at 1:06 because the orangutan at that instant does a dead solid perfect imitation of a Jack Benny stare.
As many times I seen this clip I wonder why did Carson double over in laughter now I know that is really funny...
epaddon Okay now you have me laughing with tears.....thank you for that!!
And the orangutan then does a *second* Benny stare of turning his head and rolling the eyes exactly the same way. The fact that Johnny idolized Jack so much could only make him really see the hilarity in that.
I am watching this for the fourth time now n every time i laugh even more harder than before 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks Vinny
Baby orangutans are just priceless! I mean my heart is melting . Cuteness overload x infinity !

Carson had a way with humor, not matched by todays tv shows.
You cannot buy a situation worthy of bringing forth this laughter...

The undisputed "King of Late Night"!!!
He s thinking.. what a nutcase🤣
Little did he know he created a monster
That banter between the men was pretty wild.
Ed McMahon's cup was always filled with vodka. And we're all the better for it!
Quality late night television died when Johnny Carson left The Tonight Show
So Sweet !😍
Honestly they're just like human babies it's almost scary the way it was looking at him and hugging him the way our babies do. ❤
Love this clip of Johnny I think the Orangutan knows more than he's letting on 😂🤣
What a team. Ed acting like overly precise Straight Man , gives Johnny a chance to get the audience laughing!

We live in society...
Classic clip--when Late night shows were actually funny and not political/unwatchable as they've been since 2016.
That's your baggage you dumped on everyone here. Please transport it toward the Exit sign, and staff will be there to further advise you.
Johnny was the best!!!!!!!!
Who else used sneak back up after their parents went to sleep just to watch this?
None of late night talk show hosts compare to a night with Johnny Carson
Johnny, Ed & Doc, a thousand times better than the shit late night "Political Agenda" talk shows on television today.
He had a lot of fun with the animals and that's when made him so great. There will be another like him.
The best...ever!!
Best laugh ever
orngutans r frm my country....malaysia. and we really protect them in a very successful sanctuary......they r very gentle animals......

good lord, those orangutans are unbelievably cute
Ed was the best - He owned Johnny in that clip and in soooo many more. These political hacks now days can't hold a candle to old sKool hosts.
Drunk Ed is the funniest animal ever.
