What everyone should understand is that adult referees will take a lot but they will never tolerate a coach or parent getting in the face of a teenage referee. They are just kids trying to earn a few bucks. They did not sign up for the yelling and questioning their calls. Getting in the face of a child referee is unacceptable. That's why the adult referee sprinted to get between them.

As a referee myself, I can take the verbal abuse and move on . . . but never approach any youth referee for any reason unless you want some serious trouble with me. A child trying to do something good for the game and earn a few extra bucks should not have to put up with this garbage. Someone give me that coach's contact info, I want to talk to him.
The most embarrassing part isn’t that he attacked the youth refree, not that the people calling him out are rooting for the same team as him, but the fact that a 9 or 10 year old boy can’t play the rest of his game because his dad got upset with the ref
I used to umpire Little League and Senior League (the next age group up...13-15). This was back in the 80's, and even then we had to used teenage umpires....including a few girls. Little League wasn't bad, but when the did a Senior League game, sometimes they were only 2 or 3 years older than some of the players. When I had one of those games, I straight out told the managers at the pre-game meeting at home plate, that any remarks directed at the youth umpire would be an automatic ejection, and so would any attempt on the part of coaches or players to intimidate them. If they had a problem with any call he/she made, direct all the questions/complaints/arguments to me. I also told them that when they went back to their dugouts to make sure the parents understood that they were not to heckle the youth ump either, and that I'd have no qualms sending them out to the parking lot for the balance of the game. And yes, I did, on occasion have to send a parent packing, and I did eject a few managers, coaches and players who decided to find out if I meant what I said. And in every case, both the league and the umpire association had MY back. Yeah, perhaps the ref in this video was a bit, shall we say, over demonstrative, with the @$$h0!e parent, but if he was doing it to have AR's back, then I have no problem with it. The only thing I would say would be that once CR got in between the idiot and the AR, AR needed to remove him/herself from the situation and let the senior official take care of the situation.
For.....? Being an asshole at a soccer game is not against any law. The most the cops would be able to do, if the guy refused to leave the area, he could be charged with a petty misdemeanor of trespassing.
I hate parents. I coach both my kids flag football teams. The once’s who are the loudest and nastiest are also the ones who don’t volunteer for even a hot second.
So bystander shout and get involved. The referees can stop the contest immediately and end the game completely. It is all that bullies will listen to: force.

Can't believe A ref would say anything to a parent ... How dare he? Dad was totally justified. How dare anyone say anything to him he doesn't like? He's obviously the owner not only of that field but whatever area he is in inclufing the air space and it should be very clear to everyone just because he doesn't have a scepter in his hand or a crown on his head everyone should treat him as though he does. How dare anyone say anything to him he doesnt like - how could anyone even think of doing that?

Something liked this happened at my game. I flopped for a free kick and I scored off of it cause the team was infuriating me and the parents of that team got mad and punched one of our parents and a full on brawl formed and one of our parents had the guy in a chokehold.

That is exactly why I no longer coach or officiate. People like that should be banned the first time they pull a stunt like that.
