Damn, how can a song bring back so many memories. I am 39 years old but this brings tears on my eyes. My life was pretty different then. I was a university student in Athens. No job, no wife, no kids, no worries...I remember how much I was addicted to this game. I even persuaded my ex-gf to play it! I wanted to go all the way till lvl 200...
It was just a dreamy game! I made a lot of online friends, endless play all the night to just get 10% exp. This game and those feelings are just unrepeatable...I understand everyone of you. I quit like 16 years ago but the feelings never did...

I remember when I started my mage I was here, a random guy showed up, asked me to follow him, he bought me new equipment, potions and gave me like 100k mesos.
I later repaid the favor by doing the same with new players every now and then

Lolz, wrong, I still see several people still doing it, I just recently saw both a new f/p and i/l mage, 2 players.
I don't tend to see many clerics out there anymore, there are usually only bishops nowadays which is 4th job at that point. I always wanted to be an Arch Mage so I think I will actually create one, a f/p mage.

Amazing how music can attach to our brains and bubble us in the memories and it just feels so good. I miss being a noob doing all these quests. I'd sit around here just listening to this music. it was one of the best
I love Ellinia's music the most. My first character was a I/L Mage, so I always refer to Ellinia as my "birth place." That character only got to lv 56 when VMS got closed down. I went study abroad in the U.S., so I played MS again. This time was a Battle Mage, but I still considered Ellinia my home :) My younger sister played with me, so when she came back to Vietnam after she graduated, she and I agreed to leave our characters in Ellinia. Great memories.

Truly amazing how this simple song triggered so many memories of our childhood. Literally no responsibilities, except play and sleep, go to school and repeat. Nothing else. Nothing. Listening to this makes me so sad but in a good way. I'll forever cherish these BGM's.

This brings back memories. I remember I used to farm outside the hennesys training fields just so I could watch the pro's show off. I remember watching a dark knight for the first time ever using dragon roar and being so impressed. In my opinion there wont be many other games that will have music as iconic as maplestory.

I’m well into my 20’s now. Summer of 2008 I made a lot of friends and had so much fun on the Scania servers. I remember just sitting in the game and listening to these songs as I would travel to different places. Such good memories.
별에 별 게 다 재미있었던 그때. 하루 하루가 신났고, 내일은 여기로 가볼까, 저기로 가볼까 고민하면서 밤잠 설치면 가끔 또 컴퓨터 켜서 하곤 했던 그때 그 게임.
약간의 불편함에서 오는 감흥이 모험을 더욱 모험답게 했고, 설레게 했었는데... 어쩌다 이렇게 돼버린걸까...
곡의 분위기도 주말 아침을 맞는 그 기분을 그대로 갖다넣었는데... 어쩜 이런 게임이 다 있었나 싶다...
So many nice memories in this game. I played it with good old friends of mine during secondary school, some of which I still speak but not that close anymore as everyone took his different path in life. Good old memories that will cherish, where life was less complicated..

Can't believe I've been playing this game since 07. Even though the game has changed dramatically, I'll never forget how starstruck 10 year old me was when exploring. Those days are far gone, but I still look back at them fondly 🍁

I remember always waking up at like 4am to play Maplestory on a Saturday morning because I had a tutor at 9am. Everyone I met were from North America due to the time zone difference, and when I came back home there were a lot of people from Australia. It's kinda sad that the game has died and it will never be the same, but I'm still pretty grateful for the Childhood experience. It would be a difficult experience to translate to my kids what i did when i was younger, and how i spent all my time leveling. Sometimes on Saturdays today i like to come on chill here and listen to the music and chill.
I'm from NY and I also played at like 4AM. Met a lot of people from Australia, and this one girl in particular. We were both 15 at the time lol and played together for a couple years.
Then in my college years, I got a chance to study abroad in Melbourne for a semester. We actually met and we ended up dating for 3 months. God I love MapleStory.

That's so amazing to hear. It's a wonderful surreal experience upon reflection. Although the game is still well and alive, it's the community that will never be the same anymore- it feels like a private sever and pay to win.
People now have families, kids, and the stressors of work and everyday life. However, it's so amazing to hear other people had the same positive experience, especially across the globe
None of us leave forever. Private servers still have it. No it wasn’t nostalgia. It really was better then. Yes it took longer, but that wasn’t the point. We were explorers

The first thing that comes to mind when I listen to this is me back when I was in elementary, I would wake up in the morning before school and grind in those inside tree maps fighting green/horned mushrooms for a panlid cause it was like the must-have shield for mages at the time. One of the thing I truly missed for maplestory was being able to see players everywhere casually walking by or fighting in spots you normally wouldn't expect

Man maple story is all we talked about when we were kids. At school, before school, after school... I remember when all you had is 4 jobs and basically just kill mushrooms and slimes until lvl 20 xD. I'm so happy to see many people have the same pure fun nostalgia as i do. Childhood you'll be missed ;)

그나마 리젠율 좋은 곳은
마녀랑 몽키같이 너무 강한 몬스터가 있고 굴곡도 많고 좁아서 근접 공격이 자주 나갔어
근데 배경음악이 너무 좋아서 슬라임 잡으면서, 근접 공격으로 잡으면서 키웠엌 ㅋㅋ
레벨업을 너무 빨리하면 엘리니아를 떠나게 될까봐
레벨업을 하면서 조금 슬펐어
결국 그 캐릭터는 레벨업을 해서 엘나스를 들렸다가 지구방위본부를 가게 되었지만 탈출하지 못했지
빅뱅 패치까지도 70렙을 못찍었었는데 ㅋㅋㅋ
어쩔 수 없이 고등학생 때의 내가 삭제했지만... 참 그립네.
지금은 서른이 됐네!!!ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
생각해보면 굉장히 미련한데 그걸 잊게 할 정도로 노래가 너무 좋았어

i know just about everyone has left a comment like this, but... nothing makes me miss being a child quite as much as the memory of maplestory. private servers help just a little, but i'll never be that kid again. maybe it's just the mood i'm in, but i really mourn the simplicity of my life back then.
This game was so fun and was a good escape. It is sad how bad the game is now.

I can still remember the days of just logging on and chilling at the top of the ellinia potion shop. I made some of my first online friends in this game! While we may have drifted apart i wish them nothing but the best in life!

Ellinia Town Music always my most favorite. It's relaxing and my younger years I spent for MapleStory. Good to know they're now making it to mobile. MapleStory Mobile now on. Nicest 2D game I played.
It took around 6 months for me to just get out of this town. This was my first game. I used to have this unique flavor gum everytime I played maple story. Now whenever I have that type of gum I instantly remember my childhood and how free it was. Then I would start tearing up because I know I’ll never have the same experience ever again. Kinda the reason why I don’t buy that gum.

For me the songs around Ellinia have the most nostalgia. Even now after MS2, I go back to to original songs.
I also find it remarkble to see how many people share the same feelings with this game. It was such a gem but I didn´t realize it at the time.

I love how that PVP npc guy is just randomly there in the video screenshot.
But all jokes aside this music really does bring back memories. My favourite class back then when I first started all those years ago was the magician and I always came here. This has to be one of my absolute favourite BGMs in all of maple.
Edit: I just checked and speaking of PVP I can't believe I still have one of my super old characters in my account still in the PVP map. Seems he's been there since around 2011 and I just never moved him out.

I remember coming to this town for the first time in 2004, it was my first mmo. Met a few people who invited me to their guild and gave me items and showed me around. I miss those days.
Magical music. Will always come back to this. Will never get old. There are so many different ways to describe this music, and everyone has their own memories attached to it, which we can share with each other and understand. Isn't that beautiful? I hope I can find you guys in the future, to talk about the most nostalgic game in existence :)

man... as a 14 year old who played maplestory first around 2019-2018, i am sad that i wasnt around for zakum being hype, having el nath be the highest level zone, and having 4th job seem virtually unachievable when you made a character. i missed out on city quests from aqua road and ludibrium being a valid way to level, all that's left is just stories from when my 25 year old brother was my age. of course the beautiful music is always there and there is obviously lots of hype in progression and bosses, but i will never be able to understand the joy of playing this with friends, or coming home from school and playing it and having the environment be so wholesome. i am happy that i am here for the modernization of it as budget goes up and skill animations get better and better, but even as someone who never experienced the better days im pretty sure that doesn't and maybe never will compare to 2007 maplestory.

In Maplestory [one of my childhood and first video game] , Ellinia used to be a ship ride towards Ereve or Orbis before Six Path Crossway replaced it as part of Big-Bang update in December 2010.
Life would never be able to go back. I miss my family, I miss my unstressful life, I miss the life me and my brother finally have something in common. There's no music make me want to cry as much as this.
